Let’s plaid it up. By the wonderful Grace Farris.
P.S. Fall makeover and coziness layers.
Every fall I get this lovely feeling of spending hours at a bookshop
Every fall I get this lovely feeling of spending hours at a bookshop and buying wool sweaters. It’s strange how you can have the same feeling, every year for decades. I hope it will be here for as long as I live
I do too! Every year it’s the same. I love it and hope it never fades.
But actually, is there somewhere I can buy a Rachel Cusk baseball hat?!?!
I have a literary hat and a corduroy shirt. How do you know me so well?!
Mystery novel recommendation: “The Sanctuary” by Katrine Engberg. Set on an island off Denmark and translated from Danish, I found this story so intriguing in its character developments and scenery descriptions. I’m looking forward to reading this author’s previous novel.
Ooh! Thank you! I will check it out.
She’s great! I’ve read her other books and didn’t realize she had a new one out. Thanks for the rec!
I just reserved one of her books from the library -thanks for the recommendation. Am I going to be scared? I reserved The Tenant.
KIRBY: you won’t be scared! It’s more intriguing and character-driven. I enjoyed imagining the local scenery :)
Thank you!
As a librarian, this makes my day!
Grace- Spot on, as always! I’m a librarian and I’m in a corduroy and cardigan combo as we speak!
I have an oversized denim dress I thrifted in Iceland a few years ago with hip-level front patch pockets so mighty that you can fit a copy of DUCKS, NEWBURYPORT in one and a two-liter bottle of sugar-free ginger ale in the other. I feel seen, crazy Icelandic dressmakers.
And now I’m sitting here in my century old pajamas dreaming of a cheap yet high quality denim dress that I can thrift in ICELAND! Thanks Lauren!
Five looks from an artist who is not afraid of color, thank you very much.
It's always a great day when there is a new Smitten Kitchen cookbook out in the world.
