beef season 2

beef season 2

Have you watched Beef Season 2? I didn’t love the first season, but this one — with an entirely new cast and storyline — is SO COMPELLING. In an uber-fancy California country club owned by a Korean billionaire, the staff members — including two couples — begin conning each other, with varying levels of desperation, to climb up the social hierarchy. Some people complain that it’s a White Lotus rip-off, but who cares? I couldn’t stop watching.

soup group Joanna Goddard

A few weeks ago, I had dinner with our Soup Group, and my friend Linsey made strawberry crumble. I forgot how good fruit crumble can be! Inspired, the boys and I made this simple recipe in our trusty pie pan this week, and it did not disappoint.

dan pelosi rug collection

Have you seen Dan Pelosi’s new rug collection? The designs are inspired by his Italian-American heritage and love of hosting parties. I’m especially into his tomato doormat. All the photos were shot at Dan’s upstate home, which is so colorful and gorgeous. (I know some readers have thoughtfully raised concerns in the past about washing synthetic rugs. We mostly spot-clean ours, and on the rare occasion we do wash them, we use cold water to minimize shedding.)

Keith Jackson painter

Finally, this week I came across the painter Keith Jackson, and his story is so cool. Based in Kenosha, Wisconsin, he worked as a building contractor his whole life until 2020, when he devoted himself to painting. It’s amazing when people discover their artistic callings later on, like fellow Midwesterner Julie Blackmon, who got into photography after having three kids. (Related, haha)

P.S. More fun things, and three women talk about their mid-life career changes (gift link).
