Woooooow; Worth mazing idea :)
Yes to instant pockets! I’ve been a vest person for years, first fleece out of necessity during a physical job in warehousing. Then as a pandemic mom, always home in a house where I was the coldest and we wanted to limit heating bills, I layered up. Last year I discovered Land’s End in a longer design for butt coverage. Absolutely perfect to pair with leggings without pockets. I like how you can wear a v-neck and leave zipper down for some skin to feel pretty, and then zip up when it’s cold.
And kids! Primary makes puffer vests and getting bright yellow for both my boys was genius for fall outings. Spot ’em across the woods, easy.
Vest Season is the Best Season!
My beloved puffer vest has paint all over it because my husband mistakenly assumed it was a “work vest.” Reader, it is now.
I once overheard a young woman in a shoe store say to her girlfriend ‘I swear I will become a better person if I have these shoes’ and her delivery was so earnest, I believed her.
A puffer vest is the perfect driving accompaniment. My arms are free to drive and maneuver, but I still stay warm without blasting the ventilation. It’s also nice when a sweater is too little and a jacket is too much.
When I worked on Wall St. my office had a quirky air conditioning vent above my desk and it was freezing til they fixed it. I wore a down vest over my ’80s business suit for quite a while. Fond memories.
I am so glad I didn’t read this an hour ago. I just bought a very cute vest! : )
I feel this way whenever I go for a haircut lol.
Me too because, of course, a haircut really does change everything! Lol!
You know what would change everything? A shrug. If Gen Z is really all in on this late-’90s-redux fashion thing, I’m going to need to see some commitment to jewel-toned, mostly-benevolent-fairy-godmother shrugs with contrasting lace borders that say “I’m either just back from or en route to Lilith Fair, OR BOTH.”
Hahahaha what a throwback!!
You guys, I have to admit that I AM a vest person. Truly and deeply, to my core. I’m like never not wearing a vest if I can.
For a couple of years my children associated me with a kelly green J Crew puffer vest I picked up at a consignment store. I wore it almost daily from October-March. Therefore, every drawing of me was in that green vest. It made me love it even more!
Oh, busted! I bought this last week and have been literally assuming it’ll change everything!
It is so pretty! it will – it will cheer you up no end!! :D
insulated vests make no sense to me. there’s never a season (where I live at least) where I want my chest to be warmed but not my arms
I live in Oklahoma and I LOVE them. There are a lot of winter days when it’s blustery but not seriously cold compared to other places and these are perfect for cutting the wind without wearing a big coat.
Fall in Michigan is vest weather!
vests are especially nice for running errands in the cold – keeps you from freezing but won’t overheat going in and out of stores
As a practical dresser not prone to flights of sartorial fancy, I humbly suggest that a vest *can* change everything. Warm with full freedom of movement, less visual attention to the chest/midsection, perfectly placed pockets.
Yes! Instant pockets are key!
THISSSS she types as she sits at her desk with her keys and phone in the pocket of her vest that covers her jumpsuit that doesn’t have pockets. Also no bra since the panini started means another layer between my boobs and gross stares…
Yes to the pockets!
Erica, I think we need to start referring to this time period as the Panini. So much more palatable!
Literally me after seeing Wonder Woman in theaters. Wore eyeliner for three days in a row and then resumed business as usual.
Hahaha
<3
Yeah. I’m not a vest person. :) <3
read my mind!
When I met my now husband in college 22 years ago, he noted that he remembered seeing me around campus because my puffy red vest reminded him of the one Marty McFly wears in Back to the Future. In his eyes, that was a good thing!
Haha! This is so cute!
Friday!!! What? LOL. I’m taking this as a sign not to go to work tomorrow. I tried to be a vest person. It wasn’t my thing but a close friend of mine looks awesome in vests, especially puffer vests in Fall.
This is me!!! I am showing this to my husband stat to explain why I sometimes am convinced X item of clothing will “change everything.”
Grace Farris on a Thursday? There must be a glitch in the matrix!
Hahaha. We’re off tomorrow for the long weekend :)
Narrator: And then she will blanch at the price, and keep wearing the hot pink fleece vest her mother gave her years ago, even though it is, in truth, remarkably ugly. :)
It me!
Thank you for the chuckle
Haha I feel exactly this way about denim jackets!
yaaaaaas
Just got so excited for a second thinking it was Friday and I didn’t realize it, hahaha. But alas I double checked and it is still Thursday.
Ha! Cracked me up.I STILL think about the smokey blue puffer vest I had 10 years ago and then gave away. How different the last decade could have been!
