My Beauty Uniform: Alisha Ramos

Four years ago, Alisha Ramos launched a newsletter all about being cozy. “I’m an introvert and I don’t love going out, but I like making people feel comfortable and connecting on a deeper level during a night in,” she says. Alisha, who lives with her husband, Corey, and dog, Bowie, in Bethesda, Maryland, shares how she cleared up her acne and her ultimate self-care tip…

My Beauty Uniform: Alisha Ramos

First off, tell us about your work.
In a previous life, I was a software engineer and designer, but, on the side, I started a newsletter and community called Girls Night In. The 2016 election was the impetus for starting it — that election cycle was so stressful and I was burned out. I wanted to create a brand that celebrated slowing down and connecting on a deeper level. We now write a weekly newsletter about how you can relax, recharge and build meaningful community.

How do you like to relax these days?
It’s all about shutting down the laptop and letting your brain rest. For me, that’s gardening — it has brought me so much joy to connect with nature and be a beginner in a field I know nothing about. I geek out to Garden Answer’s YouTube videos, and I watch Monty Don every night before bed. It’s like my bedtime story, listening to his dulcet British accent.

How do you take care of your skin?
My skincare routine got more streamlined before my wedding this fall. I was struggling with acne, so I wanted a regimen that helped target that. I found one that really did clear up my skin — on top of cutting out dairy.

Ooh, what is this regimen?
I love CosRx because they’re more affordable and you can find it online. It’s also a Korean beauty brand, and I’m half Korean so I have that K-beauty pride. I start with CosRx Low PH balancing cleanser and Indie Lee CoQ-10 Toner, which is super hydrating. Twice a week, I’ll use CosRx Blackhead Power Liquid — it’s a chemical exfoliant that goes down deep into your skin. You can feel it working and it helps strip back any dead skin cells. Then I’ll use CosRx Snail Essence — this is a newer product in my routine.

Snail essence!
I’d always been skeptical but as we go to winter months, my skin dries out AND is acne prone. This snail essence feels easily spreadable and not sticky.

What comes next?
I’ll finish with CosRx Moisturizer on top to seal everything in. This regimen really, really works for me.

How have you been during the pandemic, overall?
Honestly, we actually love being homebodies — watching Netflix, cooking, the whole thing.

What do you like to cook?
My husband and I are on this kick of making a dish from the cookbook Jerusalemroasted butternut squash with red onion and tahini. It’s delicious and you can make it in one pan.

How does it feel to say ‘husband’? You got married on October 11th.
It still feels weird! I haven’t said it out loud that many times. Corey and I have been dating for five years and now suddenly I’m a wife and he’s a husband!

My Beauty Uniform: Alisha Ramos

Tell us about your wedding.
Our original dream was to have this really big party in D.C. with all our friends and family. We had been planning it for more than a year. Then COVID happened, and we had to change our plans. We ended up having six guests total — our parents, one brother and his wife, and one grandparent.

My Beauty Uniform: Alisha Ramos

How did it feel in the end?
Honestly, it was perfect. Having dinner with the candles lit and the rain outside felt so romantic and cozy. I wouldn’t change a thing.

And coziness is your whole thing! What makeup did you do?
A glam look with fake lashes, a smoky eye and a peach lip. Plus, a simple updo.

My Beauty Uniform: Alisha Ramos

On regular days, what makeup do you swear by?
Chanel Acqualumiere Foundation! It’s lightweight and adds a thin layer of perfect skin to my face. I’ve been using it for more than six years and I’ll never stray away. Since I’m half Asian and half Hispanic, I have yellow/olive undertones and it’s hard to find the right shade with makeup. Chanel has always had the tone that matches my skin — I use NC20.

What about eyes?
Growing up, my mom forbid me to wax or pluck my brows, so I know basically nothing about brows. But Glossier Brow Flick is really easy, and I use it every day. I draw little flicks on my brows with the thin felt-tip pen. It takes me like 10 seconds. And Laura Mercier Caviar Stick eyeshadow is a new discovery. The copper shade is a beautiful, very subtle metallic. I’ve gotten so many compliments on it. It slides on so easily and doesn’t budge all day. I love it so much!

My Beauty Uniform: Alisha Ramos

Do you add anything for Zoom calls?
Yes! Wander Beauty blush stick. I wanted to try a more berry toned blush for fall and winter. Whenever I slide it on my cheeks, it almost gives you clown vibes, but I think it’s great for Zoom calls because you need to pack it on for this new world we’re living in! I like a little blush to show through the screen.

How do you take care of your hair?
Oribe in general is my holy grail haircare brand. The scent, oh my god, if I could wear it as a perfume, I definitely would. Twice a week, I’ll use the Oribe Deep Conditioner in the shower, and after a shower, I’ll brush through my curls and use the Oribe Royal Blowout Hair Styling Spray. It works, especially for my dry, frizzy hair.

My Beauty Uniform: Alisha Ramos

What about fragrance?
My daily perfume is No. 4 by Maison Louis Marie. Ages ago, I was given the No. 4 candle, burned through it really quickly and found out they launched the same scent as a perfume. My husband always says, you smell delicious, even though I wear it every day!

Who taught you about makeup growing up?
I actually wasn’t allowed to wear makeup into high school. I wasn’t even allowed to shave my legs, which I got into a big fight over! My older sister had the iconic Bobbi Brown makeup book — I snuck into her room, took it from her bookshelf and read it cover to cover.

My Beauty Uniform: Alisha Ramos

Ok, let’s do a lightning round…
What makes an inviting bed:
All the pillows you can fit, and the fluffiest throw blanket
Irrational fear: That I’ll walk into the bathroom, turn on the light switch and they’ll be a huge cockroach; I brace myself for it every time!
Favorite dessert: Chocolate chip cookie dough ice cream
Pandemic activity: Growing flowers from seed
Go-to podcast: One of my favorites is Chanel Miller’s Childhood podcast, which is great for pandemic times. It’s just her and her sister chatting about their childhood memories; it feels like you’re in the room, giggling with them about their inside jokes.

What makes you feel beautiful?
When I make time for myself. For example, doing the entire skincare routine and putting care into my face as I’m massaging the serum into my skin, etc. As an introvert, I find alone time to be so important. I need it to recharge. I’m constantly on the phone and in meetings, but it can be a lot to transition from that straight into talking to my husband and playing with the dog; of course, I love those things, but now that we’ve lost that commute time, I’ve lost that moment to center myself. Locking myself into a room — even the bathroom — is my top self-care tip that I’d give to anyone so you can just be at peace.

  1. Nicole says...

I think this is my favorite beauty uniform yet. Maybe it’s because it’s been a long 9 months of working from home, not wearing makeup, not doing my hair, and just wearing whatever jeans and t-shirt, but I feel so inspired to actually put in a little effort today.

I’m also REALLY into gardening! I got started when my husband and I moved to an apartment with a decent-sized patio (a rarity in our city) and I’ve become even more obsessed since quarantine. It’s the BEST way to unplug and make sure I spend some time outside every day.

  2. Kim says...

Love their wedding photo! I feel like the weddings this year are so much more meaningful because it often strips away the circus of the wedding industry and instead focuses on the love we’re celebrating. I’d love to see a blog post of “COVID Wedding Dress” fashion post.

Here’s mine (I probably would not have worn this if we were having the big party, but for a wedding with 8 people, it was perfect!): https://www.instagram.com/p/CGLDIXYh7PJ/.

    • Joanna Goddard says...

      so beautiful, Kim!!!

  3. Christina says...

Like others, loved the outfits :) Wondering if Alisha can share where the white puffed sleeve sweater is from? So clean and bright, with great proportions!

  4. Ramona says...

Your wedding day sounds so special, intimate, romantic…❤️❤️Congratulations! 💐🥂🍾

  5. Longdenlife says...

I agree with your Monty Don comment – I am an avid gardener and watch him for practical tips (and cute dogs) as well as his soothing voice. Another soothing voice a lot of people listen to in the UK is the UK shipping forecast (strange but true)

  6. Marie says...

I’ve added the hair care items to my wish list! Beautiful style.

I’m getting Audrey Tautou vibes…the liquid eyes and smile. So lovely. I’ve signed up for your newsletter!

  7. A says...

Bobbi Brown Teenage Beauty!!! I gave it to my sister for her birthday then read it cover to cover also. Loved it.

    • AC says...

Literally just went a bought a used copy of it just now. I WORSHIPPED this book as a teen, and I need to own it again!

  8. Whitney Tanner says...

Ohhh, where can I buy that green button-down shirt!?

    • Alisha Ramos says...

Hi @Whitney, that (and the green dress) were gifted from Alex Mill. I’ve bought a bunch of stuff from them with my own $$ too – they are a fav and have high quality, everyday-wear products. (Bonus: COJ just did a collab with them too)

  9. Julie says...

Thank god I stocked up on COSRX last week! Would love to see outfits from this beautiful lady! Love her newsletter so much.

  10. KJ says...

Gorgeous and I also love that snail mucin! Curious – do you use sunscreen?

Also, where are your white boots from?

    XOXO

    • Alisha Ramos says...

I do use sunscreen – Supergoop!

The white boots are from Everlane, a few years ago. As you can see, I wore them to pieces :)

  11. Jean says...

Can we get deets on the wedding dress! I’m wedding dress shopping rn and your dress is AMAZING!!

    • Alisha Ramos says...

Thank you @Jean! My wedding dress is actually from BHLDN. It was one of 3 dresses I got to try on with friends IRL, the week before COVID lockdowns, and so I just went with it. I’m glad it worked out!

  12. Nicole Christie says...

I love My Beauty Uniform 100% always, but especially this one. What a delightful woman, with such beautiful energy! Just subscribed to GNI (so up my alley) and will look forward to it every Friday.

I’ll chime in with a similar request for details on Alisha’s beautiful gray sweater! It looks so soft and cozy, yet beautifully fitted. I’ve been looking for something like it so if it’s still available, I’d love to know the brand/style. :)

Thanks for another slam dunk post, COJ – and thank you, Alisha, for uniting us cozy-loving, homebody introverts!

  13. Sarz says...

Finding a new woman to relate to and admire is always a great feeling! :D You’re so lovely, Alisha! And this could have easily been a Week Of Outfits, too – I was equally captivated by those! If I were forced to pick a favorite, it might the vintage Mia Farrow vibes of that Peter Pan collar blouse. So. Good.

    • Autumn says...

Right! I’m eyeing the cozy white sweater but I think her blouse is the “Button Up Embroidered Collar Puff Sleeve Top” from & Other Stories in case you’re looking for a midweek treat yourself moment :)

  14. Liz says...

Finally, an acne-prone AND dry skin twin! (Whose acne is also triggered by dairy!) Literally so hard to find. I’m about to copy Alisha’s whole routine!

  15. Jess says...

    Alisha,

Oribe makes perfumes! They smell INSANE.

    • Nicole says...

YES this is what I use as well.

  16. Carol says...

I am also an introvert and I totally relate to Alisha!
Her skin is amazing so I love the tips as well.

  17. Jessica says...

Cup of Jo and GNI are two of my very favourite corners of the internet – so happy to see both worlds come together :)

  18. She looks like such a nice person! And those beautiful eyes, wow!

  19. Maria says...

I love Alisha and GNI!!! Her wedding dress and skin in ALL of these photos is amazing. Also am itching to buy one (or two) of the new puzzles from the Whiled brand she just launched for the week of Christmas while I’m stuck at home. Thank you for creating just about the perfect newsletter + product ever for a cozy Taurus introvert!

  20. Sadie says...

So many good tips! I’m checking out her recommendations for skin care, candles, and gardening! A quarantine trifecta.

  21. Sarah says...

    So many good tips!

  22. Alexandra says...

So gorgeous and I love GNI. good vibes!

  23. Sen says...

As a recent new subscriber to GNI, I’m absolutely charmed by this post and Alisha’s style. In particular, I’ve been googling “baroque pearl earrings” trying to find a match for hers without luck. I would be delighted if she might share her source!

    • Alisha Ramos says...

Hi @Sen! My earrings are from & Other Stories and there is a link somewhere in this comment thread. They’re super fun for dressing up an outfit :) Hope this helps!

  24. Rose says...

One of my favorite things about COJ is discovering other great blogs, so thank you for this wonderful post about another good blog to follow. Please share the links to her clothes (as others have requested too) – I’m especially in love with the black and white front-button dress she’s wearing! <3

    • Natalie Ross says...

Same! I’m dying to know where the black & white dress is from!

  25. Annie says...

Thank you for sharing all these gems of your beauty uniform! You seem to have created something special and through COVID have thrived! Congratulations on your wedding and marriage!

  26. Hayley B says...

Just wanted to chime in that the wedding dress is GORGEOUS — so classic and understated yet full of unique details, like that row of buttons and the long sash-like feature on the back. Can’t tell if it was part of the veil or the dress itself, but you looked absolutely stunning/radiant in it, Alisha!

    • Alisha Ramos says...

Thank you so much. It was one of 3 dresses I tried on with friends IRL, pre-COVID, and so I just went with it. I’m glad it worked out!

  27. Meghan says...

Alisha sounds like an amazing person, and I love how she embraces staying in (as a fellow homebody, it’s been finding other folks who can relate!). Thank you for featuring her!

  28. Sadie says...

I let out an audible “ooooo” when I saw a beauty uniform posted today :)

  29. Jackie says...

This might sound weird but Alisha is absolutely stunning and I could look at her for hours. I don’t mean this in a superficial way because her loveliness clearly shines through. There’s something unassuming and compelling about her beauty, and I would rather look like her than any super-and/or-instamodel (which is silly thought to have because no one’s asking me, but thoughts are kind of heedless and thoughtless that way!). I don’t mean to come off like a creep or diminish her accomplishments, of which there are so many, I just wanted to put it out there, for what it’s worth. I’m trying to share positive thoughts with people rather than keeping them shut in my head, so I hope Alisha can take this in the sense in which it’s meant :)

    • I totally get that. Compelling women who you are just drawn to! Emily Mortimer is like that for me. I don’t think it’s creepy or diminishing (but…maybe I am a creepy diminisher, too. We should start a club).

    • Jessie says...

I absolutely agree! She has such a subtle beauty that absolutely hits you over the head at the same time. So lovely.

    • Alisha Ramos says...

Thank you for this kind note Jackie! I don’t think it’s creepy and I appreciate you sharing. :)

  30. Peggy says...

I LOVE Girls Night In. But where are all the clothes from?!

    • Hi @Peggy thank you so much! Is there a particular piece you’re wondering about? Happy to share.

    • Sue says...

Yes!!! The blue pants are so beautiful. Week of Outfits perhaps?

    • Alisha says...

@Sue the blue wool pants are from & Other Stories! I shop there quite a bit, they have the best fall and winter clothes that are easy to wear/comfortable but also pulled together :)

  31. CMC says...

Your make up is fantastic Alisha! Could you share the lipsticks you are wearing? I love the one in the first foto!

    • Alisha Ramos says...

Hi @CMC! Thanks so much. In the first photo I’m actually not wearing any lipstick (I rarely wear any) but I think on that shoot, I used Dior’s LipGlow, which is a favorite of mine. It’s a sheer lip balm that brightens up your lips just a touch. Hope this helps :)

    • CMC says...

@Alisha, damn it, how do I replicate this now? XD
Joking, thanks for the rec, will check it out!

  32. Meghan says...

I’m also an introvert who loves Monty Don. And I love my weekly Girls Night In newsletter! We might be soulmates.

    • Alisha Ramos says...

Haha hi! His Instagram is pretty amazing too, do you follow him there? I’m eyeing his books next…really, all the Monty Don things.

    • Elizabeth says...

I LOVE Monty, he’s really helped during the pandemic! And Carol, Adam Frost….

  33. Kate says...

I’d love to know about all her clothes! What a beauty!

    • Annie says...

      me too!

    • Allyn says...

Meeee toooooo! I love them all! 😍

  34. Fantastic lip colors!! I really want to experiment with lip color in the new year.

  35. Cheryl says...

I would love to know where the pearl earrings are from (where Alisha is sitting in her kitchen). Please!

  36. Katrina says...

I use almost all the same products including the perfume. So funny. I will say for anyone consider COSRX – the smell of the moisturizer is strong and has birch sap so for sensitive skin you might think it’s going to burn your face off but it doesn’t, and it really brightens your face.

  37. Gina L. says...

I loved her beauty uniform, but also her style! Maybe we could get a ‘Week of Outfits’ post follow-up? :eyes:

    • Amy K says...

      Yes, please! Absolutely awesome style!

  38. Michelle says...

@Alisha would you mind sharing where your black top and jeans are from? Absolutely love that outfit!! :)

    • Alisha Ramos says...

Hi @Michelle, the black sleeveless silk top is from Theory, and the skinny jeans are from Everlane. It was perfect for a fall day last year! Hope this helps

    • Michelle says...

So helpful :) Thank you! You have the best style. Loved this whole post!

  39. Sheila says...

Loved this feature. Gardening has become my pandemic obsession. Would love to know the details of the beige and black plaid top.

    • Kylee says...

      Yes! That top!

    • Thirding a request for who makes that cute plaid top!

    • joey says...

      yes me too!

    • Britta says...

      I have it – it’s & Other Stories :) so cute!

    • Alisha Ramos says...

Hi @Sheila and friends, Britta beat me to it – it’s from & Other Stories. I searched for a puff sleeve top, which I can’t get enough of these days :)

    • deborah saul says...

I too need to know about that plaid blouse!

  40. Megan Lec says...

Just subscribed! Holding myself back from ordering every skincare rec listed…

  41. Monica says...

Thank you for this beauty uniform! I’m also half Asian and love discovering bloggers/influencers who look like me. :)

    • Karen Decker says...

I am half Asian too and I can’t wait to try the foundation you like, Alisha! I love your style and I was excited to see someone who looks like me. I appreciate COJ for your intention and inclusion. This is such an awesome community you have cultivated!

  42. Candice says...

Is there anyone out there who has oily eyelids and had success with the Mercier caviar sticks, specifically? I’ve tried some drugstore-dupes and it slides right off.

Alisha: I love your simple yet elevated look! #goals

    • Erin says...

Fellow oily eyelided gal here! I love the colors of the caviar sticks, but they always crease on me. I have had good success with the Stila liquid eye shadow. Once it dries, it doesn’t really budge and you get a pretty wash of color, which is rare for us lubricated eyelid ladies.

    • Jade says...

Yes, I had oily lids and love the Caviar sticks

    • Abby says...

Yes! I think they are very good, but not perfect. For my normal 8-6 ish day they don’t move. But, they can crease over the course of a longer day without sliding off. The matte are better than metallic, IMO. ps, I have tried everything for my super oily eyelids.

    • Amy says...

You have to try an eyelid primer underneath the caviar sticks. Speaking for someone with fair skin (would also work for medium) try Benefit’s Stay Don’t Stray primer. I have really thin skin so it covers a bit while it primes and when I use the caviar sticks along with a gel liner my makeup barely moves from 5:30 am till late at night when I take it off. Even holds up pretty well in So. Cal heat. And don’t forget to set it with translucent powder! Laura Mercier makes a great one and I’m currently into IT Cosmetics Bye Bye Pores loose powder. I am the queen of getting my makeup to last all days as I have really long days. Hope this helps!

    • Tina Crisas says...

Dominique sachse recently uploaded a tutorial regarding keeping eye makeup on all day without the tiniest smidge ( she’s also a newscaster, so that’s imperative in her line of work ) it had great tips. https://youtu.be/sJ4qtTZF1PQ

  43. Maclean Nash says...

    Her. wedding. dress. WOWXAZILLION.

  44. Denise says...

I love that you watch Monty Don as a bedtime wind down. I’m going to start doing that too, along with Fireplace (netflix) and The Repair Shop. Might be nice to have a new slow evening show in the mix. Your skin looks amazing and I dig that black gingham blouse.

    • NW says...

Can I also recommend The World’s Most Extraordinary Homes, whilst people are on a BBC blitz? This show is my happy place.

  45. Julie says...

This is one of the most enjoyable beauty uniforms I’ve read! I don’t know why but I just loved it.

  46. Emily says...

I’m also curious how Alisha pronounces her dog’s name… It is like the singer or the town?? It threw me off so much when I moved to Maryland and learned that the town of Bowie was pronounced “BOO ie”, not “BOW ie”.

    • Alisha Ramos says...

Hi @Emily haha that is a great question. We named him after David Bowie :)

  47. Kara says...

Alisha, you are lovely! Thank you for sharing with us! You’re killing it style wise too – I’m especially curious if you’d be willing to tell us where the striped dress came from.

    • Alisha Ramos says...

Hi @Kara! Thank you – the striped dress is from Lou & Grey a few years ago. Unfortunately I don’t think it’s sold any more

  48. Emily says...

I love Girls Night In and am now an even bigger fan after seeing and reading about Alisha! Also love having someone from Maryland featured! (I lived there for 13 years and just moved a year ago.) Also, her wedding dress is stunning and they both look perfect.

  49. Caroline says...

Gorgeous wedding dress! So timeless and elegant!

  50. Rachel Quednau says...

Where is that black and white striped dress from? Love it—and her whole style and look. Gorgeous.

    • Hi @Rachel thank you so much! That dress is from Lou & Grey from 2 years ago and unfortunately it looks like they no longer sell it. But in general, I do love a good housedress and on the hunt for more.

    • Lauren says...

YES! I second this comment :) Would love to know where that black & white striped dress is from!

    • Sarah says...

Me too! I’m eyeing the comments for…details on every outfit.

    • Cait says...

      Yes! I need to know!!

  51. Becky says...

Love the dog! And so interested in the newsletter. I learn about so many people through this blog!

On the topic of dairy and acne, for anyone who is in a similar boat, I swore that dairy was evil for so long and what I found out during the stay at home period earlier this year was that after I mended my gut (probiotics, bone broth, magnesium glycinate) for over a year, I am not able to eat dairy multiple times a day everyday without a breakout. I used to have random cysts and breakouts with my period. I think the foundation of acne is the gut and the liver (and getting rid of excess hormones). I’m always learning about it and love to hear other people’s perspectives.

    • Kiana says...

So, dairy (and chocolate!) being bad for acne is supposed to be an old wives take and not true. But it’s totally true for me. I immediately get a breakout if I eat a cheese sandwich or pizza or something or a chocolate chip cookie. I’ve been dairy free for like ten years now and I still occasionally get a pimple but not like before.

    • eh says...

One thing to note if you’re considering cutting out dairy is that if you’re not ready to go all the way (cut it out entirely and permanently), you might just make things worse. I cut it out completely for quite a while as a test for health reasons. When I found it wasn’t making an improvement, I tried to reintroduce it and now I’m intolerant. It’s been years of trying a low dairy approach and I still can’t eat any without negative effects that I didn’t have before. I used to eat a very high dairy diet.

A specialist later told me that if I’m cutting dairy out and get even traces of it in my diet it will cause flare ups. I had a friend who had the same experience. I’m sure it’s better for my body not to have dairy at all, but had I realized that I couldn’t go back from a dairy elimination test, I wouldn’t have done it at all.

    • Calla says...

I think acne is one of those things we tend to group together as a single disease but really has lots of different causes (many of which seem to be poorly understood). For me the only thing that ever helped was topical prescription retinoid and now oral retinoid (accutane).

    • honore says...

The liver processes fat and if your particular liver is sensitive, overloaded or otherwise compromised then the body is forced to expel toxins via the skin. Old school practice was to do a spring cleanse every year with bitter herb salads as maintenance but there are easier ways to do a liver cleanse nowadays. Essential though, is to do your liver cleanse once or twice a year. And take silymarin extract (milk seed thistle) year round. My high school friend also took essential fatty acids (evening primrose oil) daily and she said it made a huge difference to the point that she would never let herself run out.

  52. liz says...

love this! she seems so nice and cool!

  53. H says...

Just discovered Garden Answer this year and I’m obsessed!!! You need to watch the tour of her parents’ garden… it’s beautiful. Never considered myself a YouTube watcher, but that channel has me rethinking it hahaha

  54. Laura says...

One of my favorite newsletters! Fun to get a sneak behind the curtain. Also, she has great personal style – I loved all her outfits!

    • Laura says...

Also second her Laura Mercier Caviar Stick recommendation. I have deep-set eyes (and a bad habit of touching my face constantly) and had all but given up on an eyeliner of any kind years ago, but with these, I can do a swipe of one of the darker/charcoalish colors and it stays all day. It feels soft to swipe on and gives a smoky look so effortlessly. i want all the colors now!

  55. sbe says...

Great article! I would love to know about the art hanging in the photo with the products.

  56. Calla says...

While I mostly prefer prescription products to control my acne I do LOVE that snail essence. I was very skeptical initially, because I never notice much a difference with most skincare products but it has calmed my redness and smoothed my skin. I also recently started accutane and it’s been super nice to layer under a thick moisturizer

  57. kiki says...

Alisha: Have you discovered the Victorian Kitchen Garden? It’s an old British gardening show that someone has uploaded to YouTube and it’s so delightful! As a fellow Monty Don fan, I’m sure you’ll love it too!

    • H says...

I’m super curious about this! Thanks for sharing!

    • I am going to look this up immediately! Thanks for the rec. Monty Don certainly has my heart.

I want to steal all of Alisha’s polished, yet comfy, looking clothes! Any details on her outfits? I just can’t seem to master looking presentable with being comfortable!

    • Heather says...

Same! I especially love the black sleeveless semi turtleneck top where she’s holding the book. Reminds me of Queen’s Gambit!

    • A.N. says...

@Heather: I second that! Where is that black turtleneck from?!

    • Jenny says...

Absolutely agree! Her subtle play with proportions makes these outfits so cozy and yet glam. Plz reveal your secrets! I am dressed like a loaf of bread

      yes–please list clothing items/ links!

    • Hi Heather and Cara! Thank you so much.

@Heather – The black high-neck silk sleeveless top is from Theory. It is pricey and more of an investment piece.

@Cara let me know if there are any other pieces you are particularly curious about and happy to share more info!

Love your entire closet! Alisha, can you tell me where you got the pretty gingham blouse with the round collar? Love!

I would love to know where that gorgeous checked blouse is from! :)

Ooh – I was also wondering about her outfits! The blouse (gingham-y looking) & the striped v neck dress are also great if you have sources, @alisha! Thank you!!

Thank you for sharing, Alisha! I love everything about this post!

    • Alisha Ramos says...

Hi everyone! The gingham/plaid blouse is from & Other Stories (I searched for a puff sleeve blouse), and the striped housedress is from Lou & Grey several years ago :)

    • Sarah says...

I’d love to know about the green button up shirt. Thanks!

Funnily enough, Oribe actually makes a perfume of the scent of their products! I heard about it because apparently Meghan Markle is a fan, too :)

    • Joanna Goddard says...

oh no way, that’s awesome! LOVE their scent.

    • Wow this is an AMAZING tip. Looking for this immediately…thanks for the rec! x

Came here to say the same thing! I was telling my hairdresser how I love the smell so much I wanted to wear it as perfume and she was like “well we have some for sale downstairs!” I awkwardly bought some even though it was a little more than I was looking to spend haha.

I love GNI and am so excited to see Alisha featured! Also totally feel the need to recharge at the end of the day and am struggling with the lost commute time to “reset,” so that tip is helpful.
