Hah to that Oliver Emberton link – not because of the content but because my last name is Emberton and when my brother and I were kids we would google (not even google … Netscape?! I don’t even remember) “Emberton” and so we’ve been intimately familiar with Oliver Emberton’s website and his little “about me”/bio for a long time. ? I like Emberton so much I refused to change it when I got married a couple years ago.

No to the tiny house. I watch them on TV and am amazed that someone would choose to live in such a small space, especially after having lived in a big house. Granted, my NYC apt is quite small but I’m single and solo. I’ve seen people say they’re going to raise their families in those tiny houses. Whoever said space was overrated hasn’t shared a cramped space with children.

Well that poem made me sob in bed…thanks :)

That poem brought a tear to my eye. I think a great poem will make you feel something before you even fully comprehend the words. It’s like your soul understands it before your brain does.

It’s so weird that you’d post the tiny home thing! I literally watched one video on YouTube about one, and now I’m seeing like a thousand recommended videos/articles about them now. I’m not complaining – it’s amazing what people can build! Def not for me though :)

I totally understand Katie. Nothing like smell to bring back a memory. One brother asked for a worn shirt when my mom died. And her perfume. Same here. I smell her perfume and it’s as if she’s present, giving me a hug.
One of the greatest gifts you can give your kids is to have a classic perfume that they can turn to forever.

I use and love the color stick. It is so so easy and helpful. I’m all for aging gracefully, but I also love the dark hair I’ve known my whole life and am not ready to say goodbye yet :)

I just read “Good Bones” (having never read it before) and had a truly visceral reaction–it took my breath away and brought tears to my eyes. I read it as being so hopeful in such a dark time. I just printed it to carry around with me–it is a poem I need to be close to for a while. Thank you.

Why buy a color stick?? I use black or brown mascara to cover my greys if I’m feeling particularly self conscious that day. Otherwise, rock the greys! :) There are few things sexier than a woman owning up to her aging beauty.

Haha. After pushing in my chair at a restaurant, I almost always grab my water and slam as much as I can. Who has time for water when you are talking and eating (and drinking wine?!).

That mom perfume thing is so perfect. When I was little, if I was nervous about sleeping over at a friend’s house, my mom would spray some of her perfume on one of my dad’s handkerchiefs so I could smell it when I missed them. Worked like a charm.

I actually like that tiny house! I still don’t think I could live in a tiny house for more than about 6 months before I would turn it onto a hoarder-type situation, but if I was going to stay in a tiny house for a while, that setup seems pretty perfect.

I also added that book to my ever growing list. For every book I read off of my list, I think I add about 10 in its place.

The Night Lotion Instagram is hilarious… I’ve always wondered if women actually do this… too funny!

About the water pet peeve- I am that person. Every time. I keep water with me at all times, and I always feel like I just need one more sip. My friends have deemed it “thirst anxiety” which is just one of the quirks of my real anxiety. Thirsty girl forever.
