I’m on the hunt for one myself! I’ve been wearing the same navy blue halter bikini from Target for almost 10 years, and I’ve decided it’s time to update. I’ve discovered I’m not a fan of suits that tie behind the back because then there’s a big ol’ knot digging into your back when you recline.

I love the look of one pieces and I tried on this really sexy and classy suit at Nordstrom (http://bit.ly/1pC6DJC). But alas, it was a little too short in the torso to be comfortable.

I just ordered this retro white and blue striped crop top suit from J Crew (https://www.jcrew.com/p/E8433) that I think would look equally fitting at the Oregon Coast, on the beaches of Santorini, or swimming laps at the public pool! Fingers crossed it works out!

My favorite suits are from Seea (www.theseea.com). They have the cutest prints, flattering cuts and the fabric they use is super sturdy because it’s meant for withstanding the wear that surfing puts on it. I’ve had one of their suits for a few years now and it’s still in great shape!

I have a new one piece from a local boutique, Albion! It’s got rucheing on the sides and it just looks so flattering and I’m not usually a fan of one-piece swimsuits. I know they also have super cute bikinis. My favorite bikini is actually from ASOS, from a couple years ago. I absolutely adore it, but I don’t get to wear it very often haha

I’m itching to try something high waisted and would be keen to find a pair before I head off to the blue lagoon! Currently wearing neoprene ones by Triangl..

I always gravitate towards girly floral prints. I make sure the cut of the bikini will give me the cutest tan lines. And I make sure that neither the top nor bottom will come off while I swim.

My favorite bathing suits are always from Topshop. Forever 21 has the least expensive that I’ve ever seen (even better than Target) and they’re great quality for the price.

If you want to go hardcore, I just got myself a wetsuit! (Long sleeves but no pants. 2 mm thick. I don’t surf at all but apparently I like to pretend that I do!)

It just arrived yesterday (I got the Graphite color) and it’s actually really cute. My kids have worn O’Neill wetsuits for the past few years–in the ocean and also in swimming pools if the water is super cold, especially for swim team or swim lessons–and they loved them so much, I got one for myself. I’m excited to use it, because I get cold easily if I’m in the water with my kids and not actually swimming much myself. I even got a baby sized one for my baby. Yay for summer!

JCrew rash guards are great. Also their crewcuts ones are awesome for kids, particularly the ones with the zippers

I live in Miami, so I have a million suits (and I like to mix and match tops and bottoms). Most of mine are from Target, since I like to keep it cheap. I just got a really cute skirt bottom, which I have always thought of as being kind of dorky, but is actually really cute on and offers a little more coverage when I don’t want the whole bum hanging out :D

Hackwith Design in Minnesota makes AMAZING swim suits! They’re hand-made and lovely and fit like a dream. Cannot recommend them enough!

I actually don’t even know where my bikini is from. I am pretty sure, I am getting a new one anyway sson.

Rash guards are great. I have several from Lands End. Not just for the beach or pool either. They are great for summer outdoor activities. I wear mine biking or walking the dog. They are cool and keep the sun off you. And sometimes you just don’t feel like slathering on sunscreen. I got scared straight having gone to my 20th high school reunion a few years ago and seeing what the girls that liked to tan looked like at almost 40. Yikes.

My recent revelation is that any suit with white in it starts to get kind of icky looking really fast- even with the most careful ‘rinse the chlorine off right away’ type of care- white is just never a good choice for me for a bathing suit. Which rules out all those amazing striped ones that always catch my eye. But also makes life easier b/c it eliminates a lot of options right off the bat. Happy shopping!

I’m far too modest to ever feel comfortable in a bikini, or even in a one-piece – that whole bottoms cut like underwear thing just annoys me, especially since my thighs are my least flattering part of my body and burn in about 2 seconds. It seems that the cute suits that offer more coverage on the bottom tend to not come in smaller sizes too…

I love my suit from mikoh it’s a bit expensive, but it’s the best suit I have every owned (and I was lucky enough to find it half off in Santa Barbara) ! It is So rediculously comfortable and flattering! I also have a clover canyon one piece that I love! The prints are just to die for!

I am a rash guard person at the beach; my family kind of laughs at me and respects me, all at the same time. I had no idea, though, that such beautiful rash guards existed. Thank you for all the great links!

Lands’ End and Athleta! I look for suits that are pretty and flattering, but not “sexy” per se… I prefer to save that for the bedroom ;) I also need things that will stay in place when I’m playing with my crazy kids. I like wearing a cute pair of boy shorts that keep my rear covered, a supportive bikini top (I go by cup size… essential for those of us with a big rack, ha) plus a short-sleeve rash guard tee.

for me the best ones are brazilian brands. Something like Blueman or Salinas. Great fabrics as well as prints and they will last a lifetime!
