Here in Brazil was the longest day of the year, and was awesome! A little too hot for my taste, so I stayed indoor as much as I could, but all my family was together, so it was cool!

We are heading up to Rio de Janeiro tomorrow, that are way hotter, but it worth it :)

Hello! I was disappointed that the book you linked to was bring sold for $144! Seems like a great idea for kids but way to pricey at it’s current price.

I love the article about keeping pregnancy secret. I’ve had that internal struggle twice so far.
The first time I even kept the secret from my parents and siblings because they’d previously told me that they wanted to know at 12 weeks when they could tell their friends and be excited.
The second time I ‘selfishly’ told them right away because I needed the support while caring for a toddler while my husband was traveling for work and I was suffering from morning sickness.
Granted, the second time was a less monumental occasion – the first time they were becoming grandparents/uncles/aunts for the first time.

That piece about the first trimester of pregnancy is so spot on for me. I am pregnant with my first child and just reached 7 weeks today. We saw the heartbeat yesterday. I want to leap for joy, tell the world, cry away all the panic, eat all the food, and sleep a few extra hours a day. It’s SO strange keeping all of this in. I know it’s my choice, but we’ve decided to wait to tell our parents and close families in person over the holidays, so we don’t want to tell others until after that. I don’t know that I’ll wait till 13 weeks. It seems like I’ll want to rely on my friends (who have helped me through hard times in the past) if the worst happens. I couldn’t imagine going through that alone. Thanks for finding and sharing such a great piece! Happiest of holidays to you.

totally agree about Love, Actually. The first time I saw the Andrew Lincoln/Kiera Knightly wedding video scene I was just like, “WTF, does he jerk off to that while crying?” I don’t know how anyone would think that romantic and not Super Creepy.
