I recently found this old photo of my mom…
…with my twin sister and me when we were toddlers, and I was struck by her laid-back style — a trench, wavy hair, rosy cheeks. I’ve been spotting lots of women in trench coats this fall, and I really love the look. — Joanna
“This photo was from the day my parents first met! They had been introduced by a friend and wrote letters for six months before meeting in Cleveland, Ohio, on a plastic couch. My mom was wearing a new blouse. She still wears a lot of florals and has a super feminine style. When I was growing up, I’d lie on her bed and watch her get dressed for work. She has a really vibrant personality and she’s funny, warm and outgoing.” — Kim
“My mom’s style is classic and comfortable. Think: cozy knit sweaters and dark jeans. We wear the same size shoes and are always swapping (and sometimes stealing) from each other’s closets. The brown sweater in this photo is called a ‘Cowichan sweater,’ which she got on a trip to Victoria, Canada. These sweaters are hand knit and made from super heavy wool, perfect for chilly days in the Pacific Northwest.” — Maureen
