1. Liz B. says...

Ha! I’m a Capricorn but definitely not disciplined. I swear I should have been born an Aquarius.

    • Megan Poole says...

Same, not Capricorn at all (my momand sister’s are both born in January and classic caps). I was born right in the cusp (dec. 22nd) and always read both Capricorn and Sagittarius- sag is ALWAYS way more me.

  2. In real life, I’m a Scorpio and in salad life I’m still a Scorpio and I can really be indecisive. Sometimes I don’t know whether to go for what is good or what is too good :)

  3. Hita says...

Cosign. – a virgo who wanted the beets and the watermelon!

  4. Allie says...

Sag/scorpio cusp and yeah, I would love me a chopped salad with a steak in it. That said, “gets bored easily” would be a lot more accurate than “short attention span” and less insulting. I don’t expect silly zodiac stuff to be accurate but I do expect it to not project an openly negative trait on me? :-|

  5. Anu says...

Spot on for Sagi! I pretty much fall for every chopped salad that’s on a menu. The more stuff the better. I also just bought a mezzaluna knife to make easier chopped salads at home.

  6. Claire says...

Capricorn here who does not like endive, and appreciates some mad chaos in my salads. Going over to hang out with the Cobb and steak salad peeps.

  7. Hah! I’m a Libra and I was nodding my head in agreement until I saw “wants to please.” 😂
    That’s so not me.

  8. Alice says...

Taurus is so perfectly spot on for me!

    • Lisa says...

      Me too!!

  9. Kiley says...

Ha! No, I’m a Cancer and these are never correct for me. We’re always supposed to be plain and boring I guess, especially the “plan your wedding by your zodiac” ones. Cute take on it though!

    • Laura says...

My boyfriend is a Cancer and I would say he’s the opposite of emotional, indirect (he’s a very matter of fact type person).

  10. Steph says...

    Pisces is spot on!

  11. Elly says...

I really hate salad so I was eager to see what mine was. What do you know – – caprese, the only “salad” I actually like, was mine! Did this illustrator read my mind?

  12. Christina says...

Ew – no. Caesar Salad is so boring and dull and lazy. No Leo worth their salt is so bland.

  13. Jackie says...

So accurate! Beets + disciplined all the way xoxo

  14. Suzyn says...

Yes yes yes to my Caesar star! Particularly if those red bits are steak, not tomatoes (the horror!)

    • Katherine says...

I was horrified to see tomatoes in there too, Suzyn!! Never have I seen a Caesar with tomatoes, but raw tomatoes are my mortal enemy no matter where they show up.

  15. Colleen S. says...

As a Cancer, I do like spinach salads. But I load them with lots of yummy stuff.

  16. aran says...

forgot to add “most likely to get stabbed in the back” on leo ;)
im a sagittarius, but also my moon sign is leo so im gonna run with that one

  17. Nurse Kimber says...

At my desk at work I just did a total wing it, unplanned lunch: cut up half an avocado, a banana, and sectioned a ruby red grapefruit onto a plate and sprinkled with Maldon sea salt. Opened Cup of Jo to read while I ate. Wondered as I scrolled down what my Salad Sign would be. Libra=fruit salad. Boom! Nailed it!

    • Joanna Goddard says...

      hahaha that is awesome!!!

  18. jenn says...

ugh. my due date was 1/20 and i always resent being accused of being ‘disciplined, orderly’ just because my mom had a c-section on 1/8. i should have been an aquarius and my personality totally reflects that. lol

    • Laura says...

My mom had a c-section and I’ve wondered this about myself too… I’m a leo but don’t fit many of the stereotypes (I’m shy, for one).

    • Sarah says...

This just opened up an entire world for me of would-be Zodiac babies born into the wrong sign. O_O

    • Lindsay says...

I was due 1/21 and my mom had c section 1/18. I am literally nothing like a Capricorn but am very much like an Aquarius. Maybe I’ll just go by Aquarius from now on so I can enjoy these silly games!

  19. This is hilariously spot on. I’m a Virgo, and could also be a Taurus (give me all the beets!) who wishes she was an Aries (enthusiastic and sexy? yes, please!).

    • Hita says...

Cosign. – a virgo who wanted the beets and the watermelon!

  20. Tori says...

Nope! I’m Virgo but I would ick the Aquarius Caprese.

  21. Janie says...

Anyone else from the south bothered that the “black bean and corn salad” isn’t called by its true name, Cowboy Caviar? Haha.

  22. Usually I don’t agree with these zodiac comparisons – i feel like aries is always off! – but I’ve never felt more seen than being compared to a bread salad.

  23. b says...

Spot on (I’m a Leo), except I’m not eating romaine right now due to the recall.

  24. Aquarius here — been eating caprese every day this week for dinner. Pasta and caprese, rice and banchan and caprese, coffee and caprese. I LOVE CAPRESE.

    • Joanna Goddard says...

      SAME!!!!!!

    • CJ says...

      Same!!

  25. Alyssa says...

Wow! Mine is SO accurate. This might be the most accurate zodiac determination I’ve ever seen!

  26. s says...

I’m a Leo and Caesar is always my go-to :)

  27. Julie says...

Panzanella, which is perfect because I make a killer grilled panzanella all summer. It’s my favorite dinner to make for a night of crisp white wine and music on the deck.

  28. I’m a Taurus and beet-and-goat-cheese is my favorite combo.

    • Hannah says...

Same! This is way more accurate than any horoscope I’ve ever read!

  29. Claire says...

    why the shade on gemini???

    • Addison says...

      Agreed!!!!!! :(

    • Grace Farris says...

Sorry Geminis!!! You’re great, I promise. I’m a Gemini too, as is Trump :O. A Cobb can go a lot of directions…

    • Veronica says...

Haha. It’s entirely appropriate! I can explain myself to people more accurately in the context of salads.

  30. Laura C. says...

Nice! Mine is Capricorn Salad, they say we are very disciplined people. Me, a giant procrastinator. But I feel the Endive salad. Thank you!

    • Valentina says...

“¡So good to know there’s another procrastinator Capricorn1”, wrote while trying to finish the last 2 pages of her project that must be finished by tomorrow…

    • Joanna says...

Another procrastinator Capricorn over here! I’m stubborn but not particularly orderly either.

  31. Lynne says...

I love it! I went and followed the artist! I once saw a print by the artist Striped Cat Studio and it was the houses of the zodiac, but actual houses for each sign. It was so much fun I had to get it! I’m so glad you’re back to posting the Friday cartoons. I’ve missed them!

  32. Lindsey says...

First of all, this is fantastic. Perfect observations, Grace!

Secondly, I almost spit out my coffee when I read my husband’s descriptor (Scorpio). I tease him constantly about how often he describes his opinion on something as “ambivalent.” I’ve never known another person to use that word so much, and here it is! A true Scorpio, I guess. :)

  33. Lindsey Nicole Young says...

    libras as a fruit salad?!!?

  34. Lorraine says...

Wow, read this as I took the first bite of my caprese sandwich! Yes I’m an Aquarius :)

  35. This is hilarious because I’m a Scorpio and my favorite salad is the California Steakhouse from Chopt lol!

  36. Denise says...

Ha ha. In real life I’m a Pisces, but in salad life I’m a Libra/Scorpio. Thanks for the giggle this Friday.

  37. Anica Law says...

You guys should do a “beauty uniform” on Grace Farris! She would be great – lots of thoughts on clogs (see her shoutout in Vogue on this!) and button-up silk shirts for work in her career as an amazing doctor :)

  38. Meredith says...

Spot on for this Pisces! Bonus points for adding any combination of tomato/fresh basil/balsamic :)
