Last week, my colleagues asked me to step into the conference room…
Since I was turning 39, they presented a spread of 39 things they knew I’d love! How sweet is that? They included a lunch salad for us all to share, four pieces of pie and face masks…
…grapes, cookies, Trader Joe’s chocolate-covered almonds…
And, of course, a hefty cheese section. To keep costs reasonable, they got small pieces of cheese, spiffed up a Trader Joe’s salad, found individual masks in the Sephora bins, and labeled every little thing. “We counted each of the different cookies!” said Lexi.
Since we all adored the movie Call Me By Your Name (have you seen it?), I laughed out loud when I saw the card Stella had made by photoshopping my head onto Timothée Chalamet’s body so I was cuddling up to Armie Hammer.
Last but not least, we lit the sparkler candles!
This was my face for the rest of the day.
Wouldn’t this be a great idea for a big birthday, like 30th, 40th or 50th? You could mix gifts with old photos, sweet notes and homemade desserts. It would also be cute (and easier:) to do for young kids. What birthday rituals do you have? Thank you so much, guys!!! xoxoxo
P.S. Slamdunk birthday gifts for kids of all ages, and thoughts on aging.
