A soft sweater, $68, that’s almost as cool as she is. (Or this cute number.)
One of the year’s best cookbooks, Dining In, $18, by the brilliant Alison Roman, which is chockfull of easy recipes, like crispy smashed potatoes and artichoke lasagna with “too much cheese.” Plus, plans to make dinner together.
Pounce socks, $30, to make her smile all day. (Or these hilarious $10 ones, haha.)
Watermelon sleeping mask, $45, for GLOWING skin. It’s a Korean beauty cult favorite — Sephora keeps selling out, and beauty reviewers are going ape.
Canvas tote, $25, which describes her perfectly. Proceeds provide 10 school meals to children. This leather pouch is great, too.
A grown-up version of a BFF necklace (together, they make a full circle, how sweet is that?), from $32.
Ice cream in her favorite flavor: coffee with cream and sugar, $12 a pint.
Marrying Mr. Darcy, $30, a strategy card game based on Jane Austen’s Pride & Prejudice.
Boob stamps! $22.
Funny iron-on patches, $10, because you have the same sense of humor.
An evening of pedicures together and a long cozy chat.
P.S. Last year’s best friend gift guide, and the 2017 gift guide so far.
As someone who reads a book every two weeks and does my own eye make up before parties (sometimes), I can confirm these are all great gifts.
OMG the title of this post is EVERYTHING! Love what you selected.
Not trying to be too picky here, but my best friend is a very masculine guy, and these all seem to be very feminine gifts. And I’m still desperately searching for something for him. Will there be anything coming our way to help with best friends who aren’t necessarily feminine?
Check out her husband/brother/dad guides!!
Hoping my bff is also reading this post because I want *everything*.
I am so so grateful for your holiday lists each year. Truly! You have no idea…. thank you :)
Just ordered the necklaces. Loved mine as a teen, hope my bff loves them now.
My sister must have seen those kitty socks here, she sent them to me yesterday!! So cute and look just like my Ernie. I am totally curious about Marrying Mr. Darcy. Such a funny sounding game! I think I already won though because I married my Mr. Darcy. My sister and mom would love this! ;)

pedicure date!
The ice cream idea sounds great! But $12.00 a pint? That is just too expensive.
Patricia…Jeni’s started in Columbus (where I live). It is TOTALLY worth it! :)
Thanks for the great ideas. I immediately placed an order for the friendship necklaces. I loved friendship necklaces as a child and from time to time over the past couple of years, I’ve been looking for a more “grown-up” version. So happy that you found what I have been looking for for years! I cannot wait for my friend to open hers!
I love that you included Jeni’s Ice Cream! I live in Columbus & she is very active in local community causes & supports local businesses. I had the pleasure of meeting her last year, on a flight to DC for the women’s march. She is friendly & so down to earth!
P.S.: my family sends out 3-4 pints of her ice cream as family gifts. Black Cat Intelligentsia, Churro, & Whiskey w/ Pecans were the biggest hits. IIRC, Jeni’s has a flat shipping rate for the continental U.S.?
Love jenis!!
I love all of these, and wanted to share a super cute, fun mug I’m planning on buying all of my badass friends this year :) Your tote reminded me of it!

I love that mug Lauren!! Thanks for the link.
Given my feels about my skin at age 37 (with a newborn), I purchased the glow mask (and cleanser) in approximately 30 seconds flat upon reading this guide. I don’t have time to wait for a gift. I NEED ALL THE THINGS FOR MY FACE NOW. RIGHT NOW. On another topic, I’m pretty confused by all things Korean Skincare. If CoJ has any primer links to get me up to speed, my fine lines, starting-to-sag eyelids, bags under my eyes, uneven texture, and general dullness would surely appreciate it.
yay! hope you love it, zoe!
I hear you on the newborn = skin sadness. I feel like I’ve aged 5 years in the last 1. The thing that’s made a huge difference for me is the Korean 10 Step beauty routine in one of Cup of Jo’s recent Beauty Routine posts (the one about the awesome maternity nurse … her name is escaping me). It takes a little longer but has made a tremendous difference in my skin — diminished fine lines, lightened a couple of freckles that were merging into an age spot, and really reduced my breakouts. I seriously can’t recommend it enough. I bought all the products she mentions and use them only at night. It works!
LOVE the boobs stamps! :D that would look pretty funny to use everywhere!
Amazing gift ideas! The Watermelon Glow Face mask looks so good!
Allegra xx
Love everything about it! The boob stamps are hilarious :-)
Hahaha I think that there is a little obsession with boobs on this blog
Anyway I love the ideas, my bbf lives on the other side of the country and we see each other twice a year. I met her last week (she came as a surprise to visit her family) and I exploded in tears when I saw her. I do miss her a lot.
My best friend has like a thousand life milestones coming up all at once and I’ve been wracking my brain on what to get her and now I’m just gonna order basically everything from this post and turn it into a giant best friend care package/confetti extravaganza. THANK YOU!
yes!!!! love that :)
Woohoo! Your guides are great. I love them every year but In the past I’ve always finished my shopping by the time they were up so I’m excited they are earlier this year. Thanks for the great ideas CoJ team!
Omg that board game! I love it.
Love love love these guides!! So thoughtful and original. I’m loving the laneige sleeping mask from your recommendations – do you like the watermelon one as much? Mine is almost up and I am about to pick a new one or decide to stay the course.
I love this guide. I’m the type ignored friend that some wine or coffee with a pair of leggings are my ideal gifts lol though I give nice gifts.
You are too funny. I just did the eye make up for my bestie before a gala dinner. Me in sweats, her in a gown….
so sweet, lindsay :)
My about-to-be-sister-in-law works for Jeni’s so that ice cream link made me smile :) Plus, these “best friend” lists are my favorite part of the CoJ gift guide every year–because they always conjure up this sweet image of an alternate universe in which there’s as much time and fun-money to lavish on basically creating elaborately lovely opportunities for me and my best girlfriend to watch tv and chat as I could possibly want (what I want is infinity of that…!). And as much as I adore my partner and family, my friend is the person I really LOVE getting gifts for. Lately I’ve been secretly thrilled every time I see her knowing that there’s a pink beret coming her way this year, ha!
love that, anna :)
+1 to the pedicures. my friends and i use nail treatments as our excuse to get together without husbands or kids. we really just want to get together but the side effect is that our toes are always perfect ;-)
O man, boob stamps! I didn’t know I needed them until now but my bestie would love those!
Wrap it all up with string and ship it to me!
hahaha
That jewelry line GLDN is beautiful and totally affordably priced! What a good find! I’ve already placed an order!
this necklace is also so cool :)

I LOVE GLDN so much! The quality is fantastic and the packaging is so lovely.
Haha the boobs necklace is hilarious! You could gift it with the stamps and have a whole theme going! In all seriousness though I do love that she gives part of the profits from that one to a good cause.
And that is so good to know, that’s for sharing Sarah! I am such a sucker for great packaging, so that’s the cherry on top!
Great post! LOLed at colin Ferrell.
Boo hoo!!! My best friend just moved 1000 miles away. I thought I was coping okay until I read this post!!!!!!
Bahahah! That pin is great!
