Which Dress Is Best for a Date?

They’re all great but the black one is so sexy! That’s my vote for a special date night celebration!

I like all three. The velvet is a fun shape and neat texture. The LBD is an :BD, nuff said. And the white- I love what someone else said- “I love you so much I’d marry you again” vibes there. Plus, I sort of think depending on hair and shoe combo it could take you to a fancy brunch or or other party too. But all three seem to be very versatile depending on what you paired things with.

I wear my wedding dress for anniversary dates. I especially chose a tea-length dress so it had re-wearability because I liked the idea of having more happy memories in it. I also wore it the first time I took my daughter to see the Nutcracker Ballet.

While everyone weighs in on the dress choice, I’m still laughing over your comment about shaving your legs! It’s always interesting to me to see what is considered “special effort.” In 37 years of marriage to my sweetie, I’ve missed daily shaving my legs maybe 10 times. I can’t stand bristly legs! ? Special night? You’ll find me wearing actual makeup, or at least a tad more than my usual nude lipstick/eyeliner combo.

I just found out that my husband does not notice what anybody wears. Like we’re all just floating heads to him, I think? So I’ve mostly decided I should just wear what makes me feel good :) But that black dress has a lovely shape!

The Reformation dress is sensational!! Thank you so much for bringing the brand to my notice – I love their elegant, sensual, classic designs. I’m revamping my wardrobe now and I’d love if any readers could suggest brands similar to Reformation for chic dresses. Any tips ladies?

I would get the black dress but I saw on the website that they had in red. The red version would be HOT on you!

Do you remember the dinner scene in Flashdance? Alex-Jennifer Beals wearing a tuxedo with no shirt, only bib front, bow tie and cuffs is my guiding light when thinking about a breath taking outfit for a date! (Not that I’ve ever dressed up that way… my everyday style is closer to what she wears when working in the steel mill!)

I’m obsessed with that first dress but it depends on what kind of date you guys have in mind. Something swanky could totally call for that dress but if you are doing something more casual / daytime, then I’d go with the white one.

I think those first two dresses would look amazing on you and would get you out of your everyday zone.

I love the burgundy one! If I had nice arms and a smaller chest I would wear spaghetti strap dresses all the time!!
I tend to wear wrap dresses on fancy dates and skater-style dresses for more casual ones

Happy anniversary! My husband and I had our eighth- year anniversary exactly a week ago! We also have two boys and expecting a third in January.

Happy anniversary! I feel like I never have an excuse to wear a dress, even on a date. My husband and I usually go on spur of the moment dates to the same spots all the time and I’m always wearing a t-shirt and jeans. Maybe for our first anniversary this year I’ll dress up no matter what we do :)
