For ages, I’ve loved small gold studs (the tinier, the better), but this spring, I’ve been seeing hoop earrings of all sizes around, and they’re looking really current and cool and sexy. I’d love to pair them with everything this summer, even just a grey tee and ponytail.
Here are five lovely pairs: double, dash, cutout, rectangular and classic.
What do you think? Do you wear hoops?
P.S. Sweet bracelets and 12 spring tops.

My boyfriend is wearing his big hoop earrings for a week now. I’m so happy with that. It makes him special and stand out between all the other men. Because how many men nowadays wears big hoop earrings, huh.
In addition, if we sit on the couch together, I can now also play with his earrings. He sometimes finds that annoying, but he has played with my earrings so many times that it is now my time to play with his earrings. So I hope his big hoops will be in his ears for ever and ever.
When my boyfriend pierced both of his ears, it made my interest in earrings flare up again. Big hoop earrings in particular. So I started wearing them daily, also to the satisfaction of my friend. He seemed to like my big hoops so much, that I also bought a pair for him. After he got them he said that he really wants to wear them, but doesn’t dare. Hopefully that will pass, because when he weared them, it really looked nice and sexy. So I can’t wait to go out while we’re wearing both big hoop earrings.
My husband offered me a pair of gold hoops for Christmas and I have to say they have been in high rotation ever since. They look reat with almost every outfit, upgrading it, and with a sexy twist!
My boyfriend got me a pair of solid gold “endless” hoops for Valentine’s day and I wear them on pretty much every single date we go on. They go with everything and are a great way to feel a little bit fancier!
I love this pair – slightly unusual shape and oriented entirely in front of the ear rather than through the lobe (kind of like the pair in your top photo) – https://sweethyena.com/collections/earrings/products/rune-earrings
Am I the only one who think she can’t carry off hoop earrings because of her round face?
Favor Jewelry is my favorite for delicate gold earrings and rings (many gold fill, so they aren’t so expensive). All the stuff I’ve bought from them has held up great. Their hoops are lovely http://favorjewelry.com/shop/classic-hoops
I am exactly like you with regards to studs. I used to love the smaller studs but this year I am starting to have a small obsession with hoops. Although I can never seem to buy the right ones. There cute little small ones are always a bit fiddly to get in! x
I love hoops! I am buying the big hoops you have pinned.

I wear hoops ALL THE TIME. I pretty much only wear hoops, actually. Mostly classic, round hoops of varying sizes (thickness, diameter, etc.), and mostly yellow gold. I like the look of studs a lot, but the posts always seem to poke my head and it bothers me.
If someone needs inspiration to rock bigger gold hoops, check-out Penelope Cruz in the movie Volver. Her character wears big gold hoops for the entire film. Love it.
I was a small earring gal, and then I ordered a pair of leather tear drop earrings from http://www.nickelandsuede.com/. I can’t stop. I have eight pairs now!
i love the look of gold hoops with some unexpected texture – classic with a twist! currently have these beautiful handmade etched gold earrings on my wishlist – gah they are so pretty! – – http://linguanigra.com/all-products?category=Earrings
trying to decide between the Reality of Travel small hoops or the Poetic Gold hoops – may have to splurge for both! xo
I used to wear hoops on the daily and then I started at my first law firm and felt way too cha-cha! haha! That is when my stud obsession began, and then my daughter came along and studs continued. Now when I put on hoops I feel weird! Especially since I wear my hair in a ballerina bun almost everyday. I cant help but think hoops look better when the hair is down. What do you guys think? Maybe I’ll dust off my classic hoops and hope Luna doesn’t get near me.

Haha! I totally know what you mean about feeling “cha-cha!” Particularly with bigger hoops. I used to work in a law firm and when I did, my hoops were smaller (except for on Fridays :). As for hoops and hair, I agree, and would add that it also depends on face shape. I have a small, narrow face and wear smaller hoops when my hair is up. Unless, I’m going for a little “cha-cha” (when going out). When it’s down or half-up, then I sport comparatively bigger ones.
i love mini little hoops. i’ve been looking for the perfect pair to purchase, but it’s a huge disappointment for me when i find ones that i adore, and they’re the half-hoop stud. still on the search!

here are the prettiest hammered gold hoops:

i hardly ever switch my earrings out anymore because i love these so much.
The first jewelry my fiance ever got me was a pair of rose gold hoops. At the time, I thought they were soooo not my style, but now I find that I reach for them more than any other jewelry I own. They go with everything!
I haven’t worn hoops in ages but I love it

Love those rectangles!!
I don’t know how it makes me feel when stuff I’ve worn for 20 years comes back in fashion. Gold hoops are my go-to!
I feel ya, Heather! I’ve been wearing hoops, mainly silver, since high school….um, about 27 years!
I have always loved big hoop earrings! I wear them weather they are trendy or not, but I must say, I’m glad they are all the rage again. :)
so funny you post this because i’ve been thinking the same thing recently. i even thought about it enough to actually purchase a pair! this pair from Ann Taylor: http://www.anntaylor.com/double-hoop-earrings/401074?skuId=20683191&defaultColor=3019&colorExplode=false&catid=cata000021
they seem simple/small enough to not be a huge statement, but enough to dip into the trend. also, i like the twist element, which sets them apart from a basic hoop style. i don’t typically shop at AT, but surprisingly, they have some great options right now!
I recently found a pair of faux diamond studs (and I used to be a dangly earring kind of person), that look pretty real–is it or isn’t it? I like the bling without worrying about losing it or the hefty pricetag.

Etsy has lots of good options. I wear little hoops in my cartilage all the time and often rock big hoops in different shapes in my lobes (usually silver).
I love hoops! I’ve been longing for these: http://acre-goods.com/shop/orbit-study-hoops-2
I had this huge pair of hammered hoops that I wore to my high school prom, but after I lost one of them I didn’t wear them much anymore. As a pediatrician you have this weird problem of your babies reaching up and trying to grab them, so since I started med school I’ve tended to keep it small. Still love them though, especially for special occasions.
I love gold hoops! I have a smaller pair that I rarely go without…they’ve been my signature piece since high school. I think they add light and femininity to the face in an effortless and beautiful way. Love this post!
I love the rectangular ones!

I was always a stud girl myself, but I’ve been loving the look of sleek ponytail paired with gold hoops. Might have to make the investment!

I wear hoops every days and have done for years I suppose you could say it’s my signature look. Currently wanting to find a huge pair x
I love hoops. These hammered ones are pretty too:

Yes! I like them more delicate though – my favorites are either these:

I’ve been in love with my small gold studs for so long. Your suggestions are perfect for expanding beyond them.
All I ever wear are gold hoops. Not too big, but not too small either. I buy cheap ones and wear them until they start looking dingy and then move on to the next pair. I feel naked without them.
I love hoops, but small ones. All the ones you showed were way too large for my style.
My mom and dad gave me a pair of small gold hoops when I was about 14 I think. I hadn’t worn them in forever, then decided to wear them on my wedding day last year. Now I wear them all the time again!
I waited until I was in my twenties to get my ears pierced, and at first I dressed like a 6 year old…I wore lots of dangly, sparkly, colourful earrings. Now, a few years later, I tend to favour a small pair of simple gold hoops that my mom gave me – they remind me of her.
Totally agree with the comments above that hoops are timeless. I went through chemo this year and lost my hair, but still felt feminine with my thin gold hoop earrings.
Love.

What funny timing! My aunt, who’s previous birthday gift greatest hits have included: a box of dried prunes, a stack of used plastic cups from Las Vegas’ Excalibur hotel and basically every scent of Yankee Candles known to man, unexpectedly and wonderfully hit it out of the park last week and gave me a pair of some of the most feminine, brushed gold hoops! I’ve worn them everyday so far this week :)
I love this trend! I used to only wear hoops, then dangly, now studs. Excited to do hoops again – I like small ones though, not gigantic ones that I fear will get caught on something and rip my earlobe off
Love hoop earrings!
I only ever wear studs. Dangly earrings and hoops just aren’t me.
I’m in love with my new hoops made by my talented friend Renee Gaudet: http://reneegaudetdesigns.bigcartel.com/product/centrifigal-hoops
Check them out! They are actually very light weight!
I love hoops, and wear them all the time! I read an interview with an actor recently (can’t remember who it was) and he said that he liked girls in hoop earrings even though he didn’t see it much, but it reminded him of girls in Boston. Is it a regional thing, that other places moved on but those of us here in Boston never stopped wearing hoops?
I really like small, barely there gold hoops that seem to have taken off in the past few months. The small-scale makes them seem more wearable and current.
I never thought large hoop earrings would come back into fashion but they totally are – and they look wonderful!

French women love to wear hoop earrings and I have found that since living here in France I have worn mine more and more instead of simple studs, especially in the summer months, they have a great casual elegance to them.
I tend to typically wear studs too, but I love the idea of mixing it up with hoops and making more casual outfits a bit dressier.

Thin, silver hoops and clinky, clangy silver bangles are my everyday jewelry uniform….I’m so awesome!!
Ha! Nice! I used to wear them about ten years ago! Silver hoops, lots of times! Then I had a baby and her little hands were always trying to grab them, so I put them away.
Time to rescue? ;-)
xoxo
Love those rectangular items. Got to be careful with hoops. You can end up looking trashy. Unless that is what you like…
Trashy? Really? Why on earth would you say that?
So true. Also the older one is, the bigger the risk.
I wear hoops only. I have a silver pair, a gold pair – oblong shape – and a silver pair from links of london that has gold, rose gold and silver “sweetie” rings. For me hoops are kind of like Zucks grey t-shirt, jeans and grey hoodie…. I don’t have to make a big decision and I always feel put together.
All the time! I finally found the perfect pair of silver hoops and they go with everything.
Do you have a link to the pair in the picture? Love those!
Yes, they’re linked-to at the bottom of the post (in the photo credit)! Here they are: http://shopsoko.com/products/duara-studs
Who makes the ones in the photo??
Found them!: http://shopsoko.com/collections/earrings/products/duara-studs
thank you!
These duara studs from shopsoko are brilliant!
I have been obsessed with these Sophie Buhai ones..
http://www.sophiebuhai.com/products/hoop-earring
They are classic and simple but a little different and special looking too.
I love these disc hoops: http://www.lilarice.com/store/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=2_19&products_id=180
Yes! Very pretty and timeless.
Immediately I remembered that scene from mean girls – “she told me that hoop earrings are *her* thing and I’m not allowed to wear them!” This post is the exact opposite of course :)
I like the ones in the top photo best! I have a small pair of silver hoops that were a gift from my parents when I was in seventh grade (!) and a large, lightweight pair that are dark silver. Perhaps it is time for an update!
Ditto! I was hoping to scroll the comments to find where to get a pair.
I love hoops and wear both gold and silver styles. They’re so classic and go with anything.
My hair is so long and always gets stuck in hoops! Does anyone else have this problem??
xoxo http://www.touchofcurl.com
I’ve actually been thinking about re-introducing hoops into my earring rotation, so this is great timing! My last pair of hoops were from Claire’s, so I’m grateful for the suggestions.
