12 Spring Tops

Spring Tops

The weather is getting warmer every day (this weekend is going to be 70 degrees!), and we’re ready to shed our sweaters and jackets. I can’t wait to sit in a restaurant garden and feel the breeze on my shoulders. On that note, here are 12 tops for warm-weather adventures…

Thoughts? Which would you wear?

P.S. Our favorite jeans, and things I’ve worn eight million times.

  1. I love wearing long sleeved linen white shirts to work in the spring and summer. It’s so simple, yet so chic.

  2. Lindsey says...

I love the shirt in the title image, but I also LOVE that the model’s arm, while fit, is not super teeny tiny! A weird thing to say perhaps… but something I noticed. Love every single post!

  3. Ohh, we carry Me + Arrow! Natsuko is so lovely. xx

  4. Alice says...

Could you tell me where those jeans are from in the first photo? Thanks! Love the top and hat as well… :D

  5. Kate says...

I realized this morning that my wardrobe has become a rotation of 3 of those Loft/Lou & Grey pop on shirts with skinny jeans or ponte pants. Honestly, I don’t know why I even bother with the rest of my wardrobe! Perfect round up post!

  6. I love that eyelet top!! I have to stop on over to Old Navy and pick one up ASAP!! =)

  7. Summer says...

Oooh, I have the eyelet shirt in 3 colors from last year, and I can’t wait to pull them out again! Speaking of tanks though, is anyone else annoyed by the midriff craze (such as the camisole picture)? :( Siiigh.

  8. Marney says...

I’m wearing the first one right now!

  9. While adorbs beyond reason – sleevelessness gets in my insecurity head like nothing else! No worries. Happens to the best of us … love your sleevey options (for me) here.

  10. Anja says...

These look really beautiful, but I’m afraid that most of them only look googd on women with small breasts… as do most of the recent looks. Please correct me if I’m wrong, but I find it hard to find flattering tops for larger breasts.

    • Isabelle says...

Agree! I would look positively ridiculous in most of these tops being that I have a C cup. I shudder to think about what the Toulouse Camisole would look like on me :-)

  11. I would like more fitted tops to come back into style, please, the super loose ones just look weird on those of us with large chests! Or maybe they just look weird on me…

  12. It’s warming up nicely here in SW France too, cleaning out the BBQ and the summer kitchen, getting ready for some al fresco dining, after months of winter, it feels so good! Am slowly ditching the jumpers and jackets in favour of Spring tops, I love the trim tank, the pop-on shirt and the soft tee. Think I need to go shopping!

  13. shopgirl says...

my arms are over 50 now, no more sleeveless tops …. :-(

  14. Laura C says...

Just picked a striped tee (French Sleeve) and a simple but nice blu navy cotton t-shirt.
I know that I need more “sophisticated” clothes, but I can’t help it- I’m a simple person with a simple style. I’m 38. Do I really need ti get more sophisticated?

  15. Anne Sophie Birembaut says...

Been following your blog for ages but never posted before so I’ll make a wish (Do you do that in America? I mean when you do something for the 1st time, you make a wish?!) So I would love to wear the trim tank because I love the ethnic-kind-of pattern!

    • Joanna Goddard says...

That’s so sweet, I haven’t heard that before!

    • Laura C says...

We do that in Spain too! :-) Specially when you wear something for the first time :-)

  16. Ana says...

Nice post. I love tops over jeans and light spring shoes.
The cotton top, however, is not available in the linked shop…

    • Joanna Goddard says...

Sure! We are on it :)

  17. Mila says...

They’re very pretty for spring! But what plus size option is being referred to? I love the aesthetic of a lot of the clothes featured on Cup of Jo, but it’d be great if you included more variation based on cut/garment type and/or figures (friendly suggestion!). Everything is so pretty, but kinda limited to working on thin figures with small busts.

    • Joanna Goddard says...

The plus size option is on the bottom right. Old Navy has a new designer and it’s killing it right now! Also ASOS has a great Curve line. Xoxo

  18. Love these and love that 2 of them are nursing friendly! I’ve been wondering about what to do for a spring/summer wardrobe while breastfeeding. :|

    • MissEm says...

great tip for that is to wear a spaghetti strap cami with adjustable straps under your shirts. Just adjust the straps longer than normal so you can pull it down from the top and pull the shirt on top up – makes any top a breastfeeding top.

  19. Elizabeth says...

Thank you for the plus size option!

  20. I love these laid back styles! I like the one with the french words!

  21. Love the pop-on shirt! Casual and comfy but stylish.

  22. I love that shirred henly. It’s all the comfort of a t-shirt but it says, “I’m a person who cares about details.”

  23. Claire says...

I love these posts and wish you’d do even more of them! Could you ladies write a roundup of spring shoes (a girl can’t wear sandals every day!) and pretty little earrings? I know you did a gold earrings roundup a little while ago, but I’d love more of your ideas!

    • Joanna Goddard says...

yes, absolutely!! we’re on it :)

  24. squirrelgirlie says...

I ordered the Everlane white linen long sleeved tee last week – the cut and style was gorgeous, but it was so see-through it was like it was made out of tissue paper! I get that low cost is their thing, but I’d have gladly paid $25 more to get a higher quality fabric that I could actually wear out of the house.

  25. I just bought two bras and now you have me wanting tops too!

  26. Laura says...

These are my favorite posts! :)

  27. Laura says...

Love these! Could more details be given about the top AND hat in the top picture?!? Thanks so much!

    • Joanna Goddard says...

yes! the tank is from Me & Arrow and she got her hat at a garden shop! :)

  28. Where is the top in the photo from?

  29. Christina J. says...

Great round up! Do you have the source of the top on the model in first image? So cute!

  30. Alice Quin says...

Love the plus size option! Thanks ladies!
