Fall Jackets

I love my K-WAY windbreaker! You should check them out! They fold up into a pocket/fanny pack thingy! so great.

Well speaking of Portland, when I visited for the first time last October I picked up a beautiful wind breaker from Bridge & Burn. It’s super flattering and sleek and cut to fit a women’s shape (no drawstring on this guy!) It’s a burnt red which is a colour I don’t usually wear, but it looks so, so good (and I feel very west coast when I wear it around the streets of Toronto, where I’ve received many compliements on it!) Unfortunately it looks like they no longer have it online. :(

I have the classic LL Bean rain jacket. I used to have it in orange (more like a bright yellow, but not as vibrant), but when the lining started to rip I traded it (for free!!) for a pretty green & mint one. I love it! It’s perfect to stash in my suitcase or car or even my purse if I think it might rain. LL Bean is the best because they have jackets that are 100% waterproof (as opposed to water resistant, which won’t keep out the wet if you are outside for a long time or in heavy rains), and their return policy is number one.

Your anorak choice is so cute. I always see windbreakers and raincoats I like, but then they’ll sit in my closet because all I ever want to wear is cozy things–and those jackets always seem to be too lightweight or noisy.

My friend, however, swears by raincoats and she actually has a fancy poncho she wears in lieu of an umbrella (through every sort of NY weather). Sometimes as I walk through sideways rain on my way to the train I envy her coat that covers her purse. :)

I love both of the yellow jackets! As an NYC newcomer, I feel like my wardrobe is vastly unprepared for fall/winter weather. I appreciate this post very much and agree that a windbreaker would be so helpful! I also love J.crew’s Downtown Field Jacket for weather resistant outerwear.

I have a classic looking trench that is made out of waterproof material and I love having it on rainy days. I can’t remember where I got it but it’s perfect for looking professional (or even just put together) when the weather is bad.

very cute! my two nephews have the child-size petite bateau jackets and there is nothign cuter than kids in yellow rain jackets splashing in puddles. for myself i would want army green or black to feel a little more adult. thanks for the round up!
