What’s your favorite thing to cook? Are there any recipes you’d love to see featured?

  1. Wow! What a find this post is! Thank you so much for sharing— an’t wait to get cooking!

  2. All of these recipes look so delicious! Definitely going to have to try the pad thai (my favourite) and the salted caramel brownies!x

  3. These all look amazing but the pad thai sticks out for me!! I know what I’m going to be making from this list :)

  4. I love your best…ever series ever since I´ve discovered it. Your introductions are always funny and amusing to read, and the recipes are extra special. As I´m crazy for all things caramelized, I love the cheese sandwich with the onions.
Sinced you asked for suggestions: how about more savory tarts? An unusual tarte Tatin maybe? Steak recipes? These are my favorite things to cook. Maybe you like the ideas. Warmest greetings from Paris, Sabine.

  5. The grown up grilled cheese looks delicious. Actually, all of these look delicious… I must try a few soon! Thanks for sharing.

  6. Some fantastic food in this list. My favourite recipes are not just about the smell and taste but about the feelings they evoke and the memories they bring back. Such as the meals my Gran used to cook like her breast of lamb stew or the first the first meal I cooked for my wife, a trout with citrus fruit and almonds.

  7. These are good. Favorites include avocado toast and the egg sandwiches. I need to get on some of those desserts. They look amazing.

  8. I still regularly refer to your nutella banana bread recipe. It’s so delicious and easy to make! Though I’ve altered the recipe a little and use half regular flour, half whole-wheat :)

  9. Kate says...

I just made the Chicken Parm meatballs last night and they were so yummy – and picky boyfriend approved!

  10. Also – as a PS to my previous comment – more recipes that are refined sugar free, but still delicious. I have a real sweet tooth and love treats – but refined sugar makes me feel horrible. It’s been amazing to discover how you can enjoy naturally sweetened foods packed with nutrients such as raw cakes and cookies, that are secretly good for you too :D

  11. Gosh, I’m going to try the guacamole with pomegranate seeds. Two of my favourite fruits in one dip? Mindblown! Thanks for sharing <3

    X Min,

  12. I love your recipes and it’s so good to see a reminder of them all!

I think it would be really awesome to see more plant-based recipes and even raw food ideas. I write about it on my own site if you’d like some inspiration – but these are often really delicious, refreshing and nutritious meals that the whole family can enjoy. I made some fab raw chocolates recently that you might love!

  13. Aaaand now I’m hungry. I can’t believe how simple the four ingredient fudge is to make. I have all those ingredients on hand and I’m going to make a batch soon. Will tag you when I do! I also want to try the grilled cheese, chicken parm meatballs (genius), and the lazy egg and cheese sandwich.

  14. Meagen says...

I have two personal fav’s, first the brown butter, Nutella stuffed chocolate chip cookies sprinkled with sea salt (TO DIE FOR). Second, the white cheddar, avocado, sriracha grilled cheese (too good for words)!

  15. I have to admit that this is one of my favorite sections of A Cup of Jo!!! And I ahd never tried avocado toasts until you shared them. Now I’m addicted!!!

  16. I have made the mushroom risotto you posted more times than I can count! It’s my go-to and it totally blew my mind that I could make risotto without being chained to the stove. THANK YOU. Can’t wait to try a few more of these recipes : )

  17. I’ve been looking for an extra dose of kitchen inspo. I’ve been recycling the same old recipes too much recently. Maybe I’ll start with the grown up grilled cheese :) It looks finger-lickin’ good!

  18. Emma says...

The Nutella Banana Bread recipe that you put up a while back is still a personal favourite, but the best recipe that I have ever tried off of Cup of Jo is the Mini Vegetable Pot Pies! I still make them all the time. So delish.

  19. Natalie says...

I make your crunchy roasted potatoes ALL the time, they are my absolute favorite with roast chicken and a salad- great new mom meal too!

  20. As I scrolled down I was basically drooling! All of these look so good, and that egg sandwich. I almost never eat egg but that looks good enough to try right now!

  21. Gotta check this out more thoroughly later :)

  22. So my mouth is watering now. These all look delicious! I want to try all of them! :) I love making my mom’s recipe of homemade pizza. It brings me back to my childhood, makes my family happy, and is delicious. :)

  23. Karyn says...

So happy to see the egg sandwich in the list. I made one just last night, and have done so SOOOO many times since it was posted. I always picture the author describing her deli/bodega experience with egg and cheese sandwiches and being determined to figure out how to make one as quickly and easily at home. She nailed it, and thanks to her I have, too!

  24. Meggles says...

Great post! How did you determine which recipes were the most popular??

    • Caroline Donofrio says...

      Hi Meggles!

  25. Zoe says...

I’m soooo happy to see all of these recipes and have them in one place – thank you! That grilled cheese is getting in my belly STAT, as is all of the other recipes, particularly anything involving chocolate.

Also, Deb Perelman is literally my culinary hero. I LOVE LOVE LOVE her and am so thrilled to see that her egg sandwich was similarly loved by your readers. Really, everything Deb does is GOLD IN YOUR MOUTH. :-)

  26. Court says...

The recipe I have made the most from your site is the mushroom risotto—I am now a true believer that risotto does not need constant stirring, and this makes risotto an easy and relatively quick weeknight meal option. I’d love more recipes with tricks like this one.

  27. Tyler says...

Where’s the chocolate pot de creme?? That has been the biggest hit. Hands down fav recipe from the blog!

  28. nancy says...

Made the chicken parm meatballs for a pregnant friend who was feeling lousy – yum! Still make the lazy egg sandwich regularly. Love these posts.

  29. The negative part about this post is not being able to eat them all instantly.

  30. isabelled says...

Yum, i will be trying several of these soon.
Your green pea hummos is one of my secrets now, our guests always ask for the recipe!
I’d love easy recipes with veggies. Anything easy to make and real’ tasty will do in fact!

  31. CC says...

These all look so amazing. I make my own version of the lazy egg sandwich all the time, usually just a grilled cheese with an overeasy egg in it. If I want to be real fancy I sometimes dip it in spicy mustard.

    • Joanna Goddard says...

      SO GOOD.

  32. Shannon says...

I want to make all these recipes!

  33. I love the chocolate pudding, though its always taken me more than 15 minutes!

  34. Amy says...

I really, really need an excuse to make that French silk pie with the pretzel crust! Maybe I should host a party with nothing other than pie. Who needs a carefully planned playlist anyway?

  35. Michela says...

Our favorite is your best fish tacos ever, we make it every 4th of July!

  36. jen says...

How could you forget the “best salmon tacos you’ll ever have”? It is the BEST thing we have ever made a staple. Once a week could not be enough for me…

  37. Anela says...

I ate that egg sandwich for breakfast this morning…so did my 1 year old who never likes eggs! It’s a winner.

  38. i’ve made the grown up grilled cheese endless times after you posted (and moved on to variations of it)! my husband calls it my “fancy grilled cheese.” it gets really fancy when when we get our favorite bread from our local bakery and cheese from the incredible “cheese of the world” here in queens. yes, it’s really called cheese of the world.

  39. These all look so amazing, especially the brownies and the guacamole!

    Kim .. Instagram lately!

  43. Omg yum! I know where I will be finding my shopping list inspiration this week!

I eat the baked blueberry oatmeal every day for breakfast. I used to be a hard-core cereal eater and I’ve completely converted. Much healthier, cheaper, tastier! (Slightly more work, but worth it.)

my go to recipe for banana bread is on this site. i just made some last night. another fav of mine is the roasted potato recipe. i’ve shared that with all my friends and agree it’s the best roasted potatoes!

  55. I’m cooking thru a Mexican Cookbook (trying to finish in a year) to get back to my roots after visiting family for the first time in Mexico City. Just two weeks ago I made a guacamole with pomegranate seeds, pears and grapes. It was so surprisingly delicious. I never even knew a guacamole style like that existed. Thanks for featuring such a wide variety of foods! I love taking some of those desserts and trying to make them dairy free. Stupid dairy allergy! Imagine . . . not being able to eat cheese!

    • Joanna Goddard says...

      what a fun idea!!

  56. I love your recipes. My favourite so far has been the cacio e pepe, which I make far too often.

    Sarah x

  57. When you first posted that egg sandwich I made it practically every day for a few months!

  58. Michelle says...

I love so many of these recipes, but I’m baffled that the chocolate chunk cookies with sea salt are not on the most popular list! I have tried so many (seriously, so many) chocolate chip cookie recipes and I always come back to this recipe. The cookies are perfect.

  59. i have been making a zucchini quesadilla recipe of Martha’s for weeks and loving it. i add cumin or taco seasoning mix to the veggies, and i’ve played with adding in squash, black beans, omitting the corn if i’m out, it’s super customizable. serve with plain greek yogurt mixed with a little pickled jalapeno juice, and a bowl of salsa! unbeatable.

  60. lately our two go-to meals are:
    1. sweat shop style summer rolls: i have all the ingredients on hand, varied based on season, in a row and my husband and i will roll our own.

    2. sweat shop style tacos: again with all the ingredients on hand, varied based on season, in a row and we stuff our tortillas (that is purchased at our local mexican joint). the main protein is usually lentils.

bonus: sometimes we nix mexican and make it middle eastern by making baked falafels, the concept is the same as above.

  61. Delicious! Thank you. And I’m just loving the high representation of my favourite food (groups) .. cheese, avocado and chocolate!

  62. That Guacamole with mango and pomegranate seeds is my FAVORITE. The week you posted it ,I brought it to a party and everyone went nuts! I’ve made it about 10x for different events and every single time I make it people flip out!

  63. Melissa says...

I’m so surprised the taco soup didn’t make the list. It has been one of our very favorites-I make it all the time. Love all of these recipes!

  64. court says...

I love that the lazy egg sandwich is the number one recipe–I make it ALL the time after seeing it on your blog! I am becoming famous among houseguests who I make breakfast for as a great egg sandwich-maker, a reputation I will accept happily!
