Funny App

You know when you have to pee at a movie theater, but you don’t want to miss the movie? Well, RunPee tells you when to run to the bathroom without missing anything major and tells you what’s happening in the movie while you’re away.

My inner twelve-year-old boy can’t stop laughing.

P.S. Do you pee in front of your significant other?

(Thanks, Dad!)

  1. I need. But seriously my fiance laughs at me because I always get up at the MOST exciting moments of every movie we go to.
Visiting my site so helpful movie downloader .

I have created a new site by the end you can safely movie download.

  3. free sometimes, he will give you proof before taking money. He is a wonderful man and he was the only person who actually gave me real results. I really hope he doesn’t mind me advertising his contact on the internet. Apple iPhone

  4. That’s so awesome! I love it!

  5. Yes, but only if necessary for the sake of my post-2-kids bladder. I will NOT poop in front of him. It’s my only alone time.

  6. I need this app. I’m notorious for missing the best parts of movies while I’m in the bathroom.

Also, I do not pee in front of my husband. In fact, we don’t even pass gas in each others presence and we’ve been together over a decade.

  7. That is hilarious! But also incredibly smart and helpful…kinda wish I came up with it.

  8. That’s such a great app! My mom has this great story about me. We went to see Apollo 13 when I was a kid when it first came out and literally RIGHT before the big climatic amazing ending, I was like ‘mom I have to pee NOW’ she’ll never let me forget that :) If only we had this…

  9. Interesting… :)

  10. I love this app. Not only does it explain when there are good times for pee breaks, but it will also inform you which ones are better. Plus, it also tells you if there is any extra scenes after the credits. I am infamous amongst my friends for rushing to the bathroom as close to the start of a movie as possible, so that I don’t have to go during the movie. It is especially good for the 3 hour movies.

  11. So a few months ago I was telling one of my friends that my guy had come over and kissed me while I was peeing and that we’d had a good laugh about it, and she said, “Ohhhh, Dave and I have a strict privacy policy when it comes to the bathroom. Occasionally I walk in while he’s showering to get a toothbrush but that’s about it.” I told another friend about this and she seemed to be on the bathroom privacy side of things too. I began to think that we’re the only ones who pee in front of each other!

Maybe this stems from the fact that I come from a very open family. I can remember lots of conversations that began or ended while someone was peeing. Poop is another story, but conversations have definitely happened on the other side of doors on rare #2 occasions. One of my husband’s vows were to always make noise whenever I need it — because I’m always shouting, “Make some noise!” when I run to the loo. (TMI?)

  12. So often I think, “This is really stupid. I can’t believe it is actually useful to people.” But then I read comments like these and it reminds me that people do find the app useful.

Truthfully, I’ve only been able to use the app once – EVER. RunPee Sis did the peetimes for Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol. A few weeks after it came out I went to see it – it’s very rare for me to go see a movie in the theater just for enjoyment these days. I thought to myself, “Self, you should start the timer in the app just to give it a test run in the intended environment.” So I did. Then half way through the movie I thought, “You know. I kind’a have to pee.” Then a few minutes later I thought, “Crap, there’s no way I’m going to make it to the end of the movie without peeing.” I took a quick peek at the app and it told me I had something like 10 minutes until the next peetime. Then about 8 minutes later the phone vibrated letting me know I was just 2 minutes away. Then one. I took off at the described cue, ran to the restroom. Did my business and then came back to the theater and stood out of sight in the hall to read the synopsis. It was perfect. RunPee Sis nailed it. I knew exactly what happened while I was away and was able to sit back down and enjoy the movie in comfort.

This app really is genius. Who knew! :-)

Thanks everyone for the support and positive feedback.

  13. Great, now people have another reason to leave their phones on during a film…

    • That’s all I could think of. I’ve never had to go so bad in a movie I couldn’t hold it. And I just recently was at a movie and one person looked at their phone and I swear it lit up the entire place!

  14. Honestly, this is so perfect! I have a movie date with a friend tomorrow night, and another movie date with my boyfriend Friday night!

  15. i need to have this. stat.

  16. Hahaha, that’s hilarious. And no, I’d never pee in front of a partner.

  17. This is hilarious, though I almost never leave during a flick. We’ve been married for 16 years, potty is still private:)

  18. I think that is the funniest thing ever.

  19. Pee in front of my husband. It happens, but not so much. Same from his side. And number 2? Never ever in 13 years of marriage. I can’t believe I’m writing this on the internet.

  20. Opps, *Burp.

  21. What a great app! I always have to pee in the middle of a movie. And ABSOLUTELY I pee in front of the Hubs, and vice versa. Pee, fart, burb, you name it. We’re married, it comes with the territory LOL!! But go #2 in front of each other? No way!! We will however tease each other endlessly when we stink up the bathroom hahaha!!

  22. I have had this app for a long time, and think it’s just brilliant. Love sharing it w/ others too! The best part though, is the story of the guy that does the app and how he and his family actually go see all of the movies themselves. So funny how he refers to them as RunPee Sis and RunPee Mom!

  23. Great app! I am always needing to go during movies. I don’t pee in front of my partner..somethings should be kept private in my opinion.

  24. Hahaha! I IMMEDIATELY downloaded this app upon reading this post. I always have to go during movies– I’ve taken to rationing my liquids for like an hour before a movie if its one I really want to see. This will definitely help :) thanks for posting, Joanna!

  26. Haha, I need that :) They need to make a work version–to tell me when I can run away form my desk! Seems every time I do, I miss a phone call.

  27. That is BRILLIANT!
I will have to get this (once I get the iPhone 5, of course ; ) )

  28. Hahahah, there is an app even for that!
When I first moved to Italy I was so annoyed because they make a break during the movie, but now that I’m used to it I love it. People can go and pee, have a cigarette… although sometimes they stop the movie just randomly during an intense scene and I start panicking because I can’t wait to see what happens next so I still might use the app :)

  29. I have to agree that IS the funniest app ever. Seriously what will they think of next…oh wait there’s an app for that.

    Ali of aliandang

  30. I read the past post about peeing and my answer is no! I too have resorted to running the water when we have been in hotel rooms that I felt were too close for comfort. It my sound strange, because we are super close and not uptight about really anything! But we do have that separation and it works for us :o) Oh, and seriously hardly EVER go out to the movies!

  31. Oh that’s hilarious. I feel like I can never make it through a movie — it’s probably the Diet Coke!

  32. So amazing! I love technology.

  33. Jo says...

i am going to download this RIGHT NOW!

as far as peeing in front of people…no. definitely, emphatically no. :)

  34. This is pretty brilliantly silly, but ACK! ENCOURAGING people to look at their phones in the movie theatre?! Nooooo thanks!

  35. Haha no way!!! There’s an app for everything :D Love it!

  36. Normally, I wouldn’t care but…^^^ I *have* to correct the word “genius” above. Seriously? lol!

  37. That’s genious!

I just downloaded a fart app. It makes me laugh a good ten minutes nonstop. :)

  38. p.s. in response to your p.s., my favorite is to pee while he’s showering. and talking to him at the same time. it drives him nuts, but he can’t stop me because he’s showering!

  39. Brilliant! I haven’t peed in front of my husband in a very long time. We have one teeny tiny bathroom, only room for one person!

  40. I need this. I always have bladder issues during movies. Maybe because I drink too much water or soda… But seriously, my fiance laughs at me because I always get up at the MOST exciting moments of every movie we go to.

  41. …i sincerely need this. how clever & hysterical. thank you!

  42. ali, that is hilarious. and yes, the synopsis of the beginning of the movie is so helpful! i’m always running late, too.

  43. Hilarious and brilliant! Whoever thinks of these apps either have lots of time on their hands, are genius! They know what we want/need before we even know what we want/need!

  44. I have had this app on my phone for a long time. The best part is that it will give you a quick synopsis of the film’s first 5 minutes in case you are running late. No synopsis of the previews you sadly missed, though. (I love previews.)

One time I was browsing through it and I looked for the pee times for Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy. It said something to the effect of, “This movie is so confusing we don’t know when to tell you to pee.” Ha!

    • Haha, I agree with the app! You really need to pay attention during that one. Joanna, love your blog. You and your family are lovely.
