By the lovely Grace Farris.
P.S. Fall fashion for book lovers and apple picking.
Speaking of delightful baseball caps, wonder what will be on this year’s COJ gift guides…? My brain has been in Christmas prep mode although it’s not quite Halloween yet…
Thank you for the love of babies at grocery stores, from the mom of a baby who sometimes worries babies disrupt people’s peaceful shopping! Glad to see that’s not the case, at least among the fellow CoJ shoppers!
Ooh, I love seeing babies at the grocery store. Thank you for all you do, Grace. Your art is the universal gift that keeps on giving.
Oh yes! To all of these. Thanks, Grace!
Seeing a dog with their sweet little face hanging out the car window, enjoying the breeze, on my commute to work
Oh man, spot on again, Grace.
I knew I had “big kids” (aka, teenagers, lol) when I started to get excited about every baby in a public space. My grown babies think it’s hilarious how I point out each one, lol.
I also love a new stamp set! I get so excited to pick out the stamps for our holiday cards, which I mainly send to use the fun stamps.
And one of those aforementioned teenagers just mused yesterday about how perfectly yellow leaves are their favorite fall foliage, hahaha! (I see their point about a brilliantly golden tree, but I have a soft spot for the red-orange-gold gradient.)
I have a brand new newborn and I love every mother of teenagers who coos at him with delight. I am not a huge fan of the newborn stage so it serves as a gentle reminder of how there are things about this very short phase that I should try to appreciate.
Grace’s comics are the best! So joyful & relatable!❤️❤️❤️
Ohh, I absolutely felt the stamp one yesterday! Canada just released a Much Music, Musique Plus set – a.k.a. My Absolute Pinnacle of Entertainment As A Teen. It’s very validating to see your thing on a stamp!
My babies would take a hearty bite of the baguette… Hahaha Thank you for bringing back this long forgotten memory. =)
I am sucker for babies’ hats with ears, and it is almost the season!
They’re so cute!
I know Grace’s posts don’t tend to drive the same volume of comments but visiting her posts are akin to receiving a warm comforting hug, thank you Grace!
Grace, your Friday comics are my glimmer for this month!
Finding a well-loved book from my childhood at an estate sale, thinking about other kids who grew up thrilling in the same great stories!
Always enjoy your glimpses at life, Grace!
I just ordered the prettiest stamps from the USPS. The stamps are just worth 1-10¢ each, so five sheets of stamps was under $10. Someday I will:
1. Have a powder room
2. Fill the walls of it with framed sheets of stamps
But in the mean time, they’re a very affordable luxury, and easy to store. xox
This sounds like the most fun art ever! Thanks for the inspiration!
Oh I just love this so much. Amen to all of these! And I would add – laying in bed and reading on a lazy weekend morning. Especially when it’s chilly outside!
I’ve read this blog forever. Daily. For years and years and years. And it always brings me joy. Thank you for highlighting the little moments in life worth celebrating: baby smiles, new stamps with all their promise and opportunity, yellow leaves. I love being encouraged to appreciate these glimmers.
what about toddlers with little backpacks walking through the airport though
Or toddlers at the airport in their jammies 🥹
and i love seeing a grace farris comic and, double bonus, remembering that means it’s friday!
I’ve been wearing my delightful Big Salad hat everywhere! I love it :)
Has anyone mentioned it yet? I would if I saw you. I need to get one but I don’t wear baseball hats or carry tote bags much.
I see your babies at the grocery store and raise you my babies at the farmer’s market.

LOL – thank you for this
To go along with the fallen leaves, I love to walk through dry deep piles of them and kick them up in the air like I did when I was a little girl.
Yes! I’m in my mid-40’s and have begun to think that this is one of the precious few life experences that are equally joyful at every age!
