This weekend, Toby and Anton were staying at Alex’s apartment, but on Sunday morning, Toby messaged me with an idea for Sunday night plans at my house…
What a fun idea, right? (Side note: no one had pink eye.)
So, I picked up a few balloons, ordered samosas and chana masala, and queued up the Netflix series.
We had such a fun night! It made me brainstorm what other movies you could make into mini parties…
Ferris Bueller with Chicago-style hot dogs.
Shrek with onion rings:
Shrek: Ogres are like onions.
Donkey: They stink?
Shrek: Yes. No.
Donkey: Oh, they make you cry.
Shrek: No.
Donkey: Oh, you leave em out in the sun, they get all brown, start sproutin’ little white hairs.
Shrek: No. Layers. Onions have layers. Ogres have layers. Onions have layers. You get it? We both have layers.
Donkey: Oh, you both have LAYERS. Oh. You know, not everybody like onions.
Frozen with carrots and open-faced sandwiches.
Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse with cheeseburgers and fries.
The Parent Trap with Oreos dipped in peanut butter.
The Baby-Sitters Club with candy (because Claudia loves it) and a veggie tray with hummus (because Stacey is diabetic and Dawn is vegetarian).
Alexander and The Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day with “the crustless quiche, the frittata.”
Thoughts? What else would you add? What other movies/shows do the kids in your lives love watching? What random things do you do to jazz things up now and again? :)
P.S. My kids’ hilariously passive-aggressive notes, and the best (and worst) family movies according to kids.
