This. is. flawless.
I’m beyond thrilled that ballet flats are back. I really could not get into those cloppy court shoes! PSA, the best ballet flats are made by Repetto. You’re welcome, friends.
So funny!
I wore ballet flats for a hard-walkin’ two-week trip to England and Scotland in 2021 and gave myself a case of plantar fasciitis that didn’t respond to physical therapy, at-home remedies, or necromancy until LAST MONTH; I thought I’d never run again. It was the dumbest thing I’d done to my body since I was a freshman in college and decided to attach my dorm key to my navel ring.
I just LOL’d
Dorm key to navel ring? Oh no!
The key…. 🤣 oh this made me laugh, thank you! I hope your foot is fully better and you are running again, that sound horrendous
oh my goodness! hahaha 😆 🤣 so funny. ty <3
How did you get rid of it?! Help!
The *only* thing that seemed to alleviate PF symptoms was long walks with comfortable shoes (usually my running shoes or sometimes, no idea why they were so perfect but hey, my Air Force 1s) and completely cutting out unsupportive shoes of all kinds. It was really scary, though – I still don’t know why it went away so I feel kind of powerless to resolve it if it happens again!
The navel-ring room key I got rid of with help from my roommate, haha.
DRAG ME, Grace.
Lol
my poor middle aged feet!
“Cardigan as a shirt anything could happen” love it and accurate
Oh man, I’m wearing that exact cardigan as a shirt right now, ha! These comics are always spot on.
Will I ever find a ballet flat that doesn’t give my HUGE blisters? Am I the only one?
You are not alone. I drift toward fisherman sandal flats instead.
Same for me…just bought these and so far very comfortable.
They have a little heel.

I have a pair of suede Sam Edelman ballet flats that I have walked miles in with no blisters….and I am not a person who can usually wear ballet flats without getting blisters. Like most ballet flats, though, I can’t say they have any support.
*nods* Camper makes the only ones that have ever kept me blister-free. 😁
+1 on Camper shoes, but my personal favorite flats are from Allbirds. I love everything their brand stands for, but more importantly their flats are super comfy and they hold my orthopedic soles. They’re not cheap though, so I held off on buying them for a long time. To me they’re well worth the splurge though
+1 in Allbirds flats! No break in required and they have a little cushioning as well. Super comfy and washable.
Seconding Suze’s recommendation of Allbird’s ballet flats! Huge fan. They gave me no blisters, and I love that I can throw them in the wash because god knows my feet get smelly after wearing them for hours and hours.
This comic is so eerily accurate. Grace never misses.
Felt seen by this comic 😂. Have plantar fasciitis and cardigan as a shirt would definitely be a huge statement for me ❤️
HA! Wearing a cardigan as a shirt looks so cute, but feels so wrong.
The cardigan caption got me :D
Made me laugh since I’ve spent some time wondering if I can just pretend my two year old’s wild, mullet-esque hair (that she absolutely will not let anyone try to tame) is a wolf cut.
Ha! Same!
OMG I have had the exact same inner conversation about my 2023 plantar fasciitis and 2023 ballet flats!
Same, same. Still cry-laughing here about it.
I am dying–I just had this conversation with my 30-something nieces!
Related: “Will I ever find a chunky loafer/ballet flat/slingback heel that will accommodate my wide feet?”
Answer:no.
10W
Oh man, SO HARD to find shoes for wide feet (plus a bunion!) that don’t look tragically orthopedic.
“tragically orthopedic” is my motto for life.
11W here, ladies… check out Andre Assous, Birdies, Maguba, Poppy Barley, Soft Star Shoes. All wearable, many sizes and widths. Varying levels of pricing in my list, fair warning; I listed them lowest to highest.
I have wide feet and I just got a pair of chunky vagabond loafers on Poshmark that have a surprisingly wide toe box. I think the style is called Kenova! Usually loafers run so narrow in the toe, but these are comfy.
Try Bjorn shoes! Not a ballet but I have a pair of loafers that are nice and wide from them
Wide feet due to bunions, try Trotters and Softwalk! Cute styles can be found, the Gia flat from Trotters looks like Everlane—it has a slight heel and even has room for my orthotics.
Walmart offers many wide width shoes in their own brands such as Time and Tru and No Boundaries. Including some fun new ballet flats!
