My Summer Uniform

Short sleeved T-shirt dresses–long and short, knit or jersy, solid colors–and birks.

I love wearing sneakers and flats with dark jeans and a blouse too. I am confortable and I can add necklace.

I read about these funky Sorel sandals on The Strategist, and haven’t taken them off since! They go nicely with shorts, jeans or even a dress!

Same here! Except I wear comfy sandals with dresses. Alternate outfit…linen tunics with denim cutoffs and sandals. ???

Typically my summer uniform is high waisted denim shorts, the softest, most worn-in T-shirt in my closet and Birks or Teva sandals. But, I’m currently 9 months pregnant in a heatwave and developing a new appreciation for flowy midi dresses!

Such a cute outfit for summer days! I love the sneakers so it isn’t too precious and just the right amount of tomgirl girly girl! I’ll have to try it for date night.
My go to uniform this summer is less spectacular but a dream…

Im sure my husband cringes and questions when I’ve last washed them but the lack of waist band combined with no matching of top to bottom has been the thoughtless easy go to wonder outfit. I’ve only received a single compliment, the librarian checking out my books.
My girlfriend picked me up for lunch today and she was wearing…overalls! We laughed and talked about how we have been puttering around the house and yard, weeding the garden beds and feeling amazing in overalls lol. Ps we are in our early 30’s if you are picturing some fabulously earthy golden aged gals lol!

My uniform for the most part is my cuffed button-fly jean shorts from Target that I bought in March 2020 (just before the shut down, and when Target seems to stop carrying jeans in my area), a flattering tank top, and my slip-on Converse sneakers. I occasionally wear a dress, but I love my jeans (and I hate that Target ran out of them, or stopped carrying the button fly, since they are so comfy).

Love this so much. Any advice on socks? Any no-show socks that dont slip down?

Hey cupofjo readers, just a friendly reminder to not forget sunblock on your exposed arms. Short sleeves were my go-to summer look (dresses, tshirts) for my adult life. I dutifully applied sunblock to my face and decolletage (don’t you love that word!) but never my arms unless I knew I would be outside all day. Well, fast forward 25 years and my face/neck look darn good, but the skin on my arms from elbow to fingers looks a wreck! All sorts of spots my doctors clucks her tongue about. Sun damage is no joke. I’m still working at home way way out in the country, so it’s a short dress with bare feet or cutoffs and a T-shirt with bare feet, everyday. I snazz it up with my shiny Hunter Chelsea boots when I go out to the garden and the chicken coop. Gotta keep the little occasions special!

My summer uniform has been drawstring linen shorts from Old Navy (in olive green and chambray) with a striped tshirt and saltwater sandals (I’ve been rockin’ the same two pairs in tan and red for the past 6 years and they still look like new!). The shorts are breathable and comfortable, and the outfit combination makes me feel vaguely French (Linen! Stripes!).

Mine is either cotton dresses with sneakers or linen pants and floral t-shirts.

Slouchy/baggy linen pants–striped or solid, must have pockets–plus tank or fitted tee. Fancier camisole for nicer occasions. Either linen sundress or jumpsuit for going places. Birk-esque sandals by Taos footwear, or Tevas. Can’t abide sneakers in the heat, unless it’s for hiking.

My year round uniform is athleisure but I enjoy wearing my sandals in the summer – right now I have Merrells but I’m waiting to replace them with Tevas that are currently on backorder.

I’m feeling this right now! I’ve been wearing midi dresses and flat sandals all summer with a hat, mixed in with high waist jeans and blousy tops. Its made it easier to keep up with my three kids, including a very unpredictable two year old.

Love that combo! All summer long, I wear cotton or linen skirts with pockets, bright sandals that I can walk in AND kick off easily, and sleeveless cotton knit tops. Have some cotton dresses that I mix in, too. Hair up OFF my neck.

I was just diagnosed with stage 1 melanoma and it left me reeling for a multitude of reasons (obvi) but one of the biggest changes I’ve had to take is my wardrobe. Gone are the casual summer tanks and shorts! I’ve embraced wide hats, linen pants and overalls, tunic shirts and lots of spf! The good news is that I got my biopsy back a few days ago and I had clear margins, but please be sure to wear your spf, friends! And remember to use a daily lotion with spf on your entire body bc harmful rays make it through clothes, too!
