What are you up to this weekend? My sister is coming to visit tonight, and the boys are practicing all their best tricks and jokes. Also, Anton hurt his leg last weekend — poor guy! when it rains, it pours! — so we’ll be giving him some extra cuddles as he gets better. Have a good one, and here are a few fun links from around the web…
A Thanksgiving menu maker.
How to never wait in line for brunch. (Yes!)
A photo of Twitter, Facebook, Tumblr, Instagram and LinkedIn, hahaha.
Getting inspired to throw a pizza party.
What a beautiful office.
Ice fishing is the last thing in the world I’d ever want to do, but these photos made my jaw drop.
How cozy are these cashmere sweatshirts? #wishlisted
The NYTimes Magazine cover is so good this week. (Remember these?)
Why don’t pants go all the way down to the floor anymore? An investigation.
On Greta Gerwig: “In her directorial debut, the writer and actress has created a character rarely seen onscreen: a young girl who loves herself.”
Plus, two great reader comments:
Says Abbey on staying present: “When I’m walking down the street, I play a game where I imagine other peoples’ secret skills. Maybe the guy crossing the street makes a mean tiramisu or another person loves to garden. Or someone else is a talented painter. Once you walk around believing that each person has something unique to offer, being in the world less stressful and more fun.” (Reminded me of this.)
Says Marla on five great TV shows: “Make some room in your life for Better Things, written, directed by and starring Pamela Adlon, who has been Louis C.K.’s collaborator for over a decade. Her autobiographical divorced-mom-of-three-girls character is smart, stupid, generous, selfish, funny, not funny and can’t get out of her own way. The soundtrack stabs me in the heart every week. It’s labeled a comedy, but is so much richer than one label can convey. I am 110% hooked.”
