Very sweet! My mother-in-law sent us a lot of my sister-in-law’s older baby clothes and it’s adorable. My daughter has worn her auntie’s corduroy overalls, cotton tracksuits and even some frilly pjs that have bell bottoms!
Pretty little things, aren’t they? I am French and was born in a (former) northern textile town. All the clothes I wore as a child were made in France — and most of them locally! They were little gems of style and creativity, like the ones featured in your post, Jo. Think about it: the cloth was spun locally, the garments were designed, assembled and sewn locally too. My brother and I always looked dapper as kids, dressed to the nines and fairly cheaply too. We were proud of our town’s savoir faire! Nowadays you get brands like Petit Bateau, Vert Baudet and Cyrillus that capitalise upon their glorious French past but whose collections are now made overseas (Middle and Far East) for the most part. As for the smaller French brands, they went under many moons ago and I still miss them to this day! No wonder Vintage has become the new Novelty!

My mom saved a boxful of my childhood clothes and toys. My two year old rocks my old vintage favorites occasionally. When she wore my aunt’s dress and bonnet for Easter, the whole family lost it. Check what is in the attic / closet!
Who is who in the photo? Also, are you guys identical twins or not? I feel silly asking, but a friend of mine who has one red-haired twin and one dark-haired says she gets asked all the time! I would love a motherhood monday post on mothering twins. My dream when I was a kid reading sweet valley high was to have a twin sister (instead of the younger brother my parents saddled me with)!
I do not know what is wrong with me, but I have never been able to buy my son used clothing. Even though I shop vintage for myself! In fact, one of my most prized possessions is a vintage Yves Saint Laurent dress but yet I a only buy new for him. I LOVE the style of what is shown though.
My mum saved a lot of my baby clothes which she posts over to the US as my daughter grows into them. She wore the sweetest little green cord pinafore with red embroidered trim this Christmas. I love that we both wore it!

Enjoy dressing your children while you can! My nine year old selects his own clothing. I can only hope one dear he develops a style that isn’t closely related to how athletes dress for the away bus for a basketball game.

Absolutely beautiful and so stylish! I haven’t been able to find much good quality vintage clothing as my son has grown up, but I’ve definitely been using all the bits my Mum saved from my childhood and aiming towards that style when I purchase something new.
I’m also intrigued as to where the seller finds all these clothes with the labels still attached! Amazing!!!
I highly recommend watching “The True Cost” documentary if you’re interested in the environmental (and social) impact of buying new clothes – particularly fast fashion. I think it’s still on Netflix. I’ve shopped A LOT less since watching it!

Oh! It bears mentioning, for the unfamiliar, that european sizing – especially French – is much smaller than US. My daughter is svelt and often sized down in US sizes but sizes up TWO sizes in French clothing, particularly vintage.
I’ve been buying things from them for years! (my daughter wears the cutest high waisted vintage bikini from their shop) It’s so exciting to see you feature them!

Cute! My mother is German and I was born and raised there til age 10 – meaning my clothes were far superior in quality to mainstream US ones available then! Now with Baby Gap, etc, you can find killer clothes everywhere if you don’t care about natural fibers vs chemical or your carbon footprint…
Plus I love the aesthetic of those vintage styles!

These are adorable, but the environmental impact seems negated by the shipping across the atlantic.
if you order a handful of pieces, that would be better than ordering new clothes from fast fashion retailers online, wouldn’t it? i don’t know all the ins and outs but that seems to be a better choice overall. (after all, if something is made from new materials in china, shipped to america, then shipped to you, etc…….)

I had the same thought – why not just buy from an American second hand store? You can find cute things, though you do have to root around a bit more. The stuff in this store is super cute, but seems a high environmental cost to have it shipped from France.
I’d be interested in seeing more second hand style in Cup of Jo for the same reasons.
I just read that crafting a new adult t-shirt and pair of jeans can use up to 5,300 gallons of water. Sure, ordering from France is not entirely without environmental impact, but it’s a much better choice than new items.
