Yeah to be honest, I’d rather date guy #1. I mean, I still get the final say in whether his intent to marry is ever carried out, but at least he’s got ambition. Guy #2 is too wishy washy. I like a dude who knows what he wants and isn’t afraid to go after it.

  2. Liz says...

Haha I actually thought they were both women!

  3. Kim Marsden says...

I feel for the next generation. Nobody knows what they want.

1st comments the better one. Hands down, ??

This reminds me of my revised endings to fairytales for my four-year-old daughter. Cinderella spends a year having lunch every week with the prince while she gets a paying job and her own apartment. Then they decide together to get engaged!

      I love this!

    • Lizzie says...

      Fantastic!

This is still male-centered. The tiring thing about rom-coms is that the plot line centers around the man’s story (in the end, I’ll get the girl).

I’d prefer to see a rom-com that is truly female-centered (or even gender non-conforming centered! gasp!).

Sometimes what’s sexy is not what’s politically correct. What would Esther Perel say?

    • hallelujah, ashley.

    • Alicia says...

      Agree.

  10. Even though it’s utterly predicable… I still always want a rom-com to have a happy ending. Real life is complicated enough…!

  11. Carrie says...

Cute, but sometimes looking so deep into a simple movie is exhausting. Especially with this image coming to me on a Friday morning.

  12. Kathleen says...

    Better yet, “see that woman…”.

    • Kathy says...

Yes! Biggest pet peeve. We not are not girls, we are women!

  13. rach says...

    Is that romantic?

    • Christy says...

I see this illustration and naturally appreciate the respect that Bubble Two conveys. But I still want the guy to be clear about his desire to do life with me. I’m a strong woman, so it takes a strong man to make a partnership!

    Yes!
