Has she cut her hair yet? Cant wait to see the new look!

I vote all :) short bob with bangs and some violet! A bob with bangs is really striking and adding lilac (even a few pieces underneath) will be very dramatic. It will grow back and you can dye if you don’t like it!

When will we see the results? wondering what the new style will be :)

I say: Lilac!! I have been wanting to do it for a year and after seeing the picture on the blog, I did it yesterday! I love it! Maybe Short and lilac would go good together! :)

While I think Caroline would look great with any of these styles, I voted short because I think she could look very Audrey Tautou! I’d say that is the epitome of sexy french girl. :)

I agree with another commenter, that if you go short you should donate your hair to locks of love or something like that. I cut my hair short for the first time when I left for college as an 18 yr old and it was the best decision ever.

i’ve tried all these cuts and bangs are by far the hardest. they take maintenance. the alexa chung cut is styled and your hair won’t look like that again after you leave the salon. the short one is easiest to keep up and make look like that day in and day out. you might find you have to go get trims more often, but that’s the way the cookie crumbles!

I love these Caroline posts. Sometimes I’m not so keen when a blog adds a new editor and the voice I’ve come to known changes, but I really enjoy the addition of these posts and Caroline’s willingness to experiment for our entertainment! :)

I was in the same boat as Caroline– same long layered cut for years. I needed something drastically new, so last month I got an angled bob (where it’s longer in the front) with blunt bangs. I like that it’s a bit longer in the front– still feels feminine and sexy to me.

I wasn’t sure about it for the first week or so, but now that I’ve had it for a while, I actually really love it. All my middle school students say it looks great. I say, go for the drastic change! Anyways, it will always grow.

Honestly, I’d go full Alexa – shorter, bangs, and lilac. Why the heck not? It’s completely the hair I would have if I didn’t have Irish curls. Ok, maybe not the lilac – I’m getting too old for that – but I feel ok with that because I got my pink and red and orange and platinum and black and auburn on when I was younger :) You’re gorgeous, so it’ll be great. Have fun!

No bangs! Her cute little face is too cute to hide. And adorable little faces can always pull of the short style!!

I’m 32, almost 33. I had every haircut imaginable in my 20s, with every hair colour to go with it. And I don’t regret it one bit. Now that I’m getting old(er) I have an urge to do ombre pink/blonde, yet I feel that not only am I too old but it wouldn’t suit my corporate job. Do it all while you can. I voted lilac.

Find a great hair stylist and let them have their way with it, never had a bad experience that way and if you do, remember: it is hair, it will grow back :-)

Short!!

Am I the only one who loves her hair as it is? So classic! But maybe that’s just me.

I know it isn’t an option, but I would say get the Alexa Chung cut…and if you want to take it a step further, do her whole look and do subtle lilac hints like hers. Her cut is awesome, laid back, and effortless.

Ohhh, I have exactly the same hair, thick, dark, (was long) and I have two cowlicks (oh so lucky!), I had bangs for a winter, I loved it, so chic… However… A major pain in the butt. I straightened them each morning because of the dreaded cowlicks and as the weather started getting warmed (I’m in Aus, so a beach gal), I grew them out. It was just too hard to manage with exercise and swimming. I’ve just, in the past month, cut my extra long hair short, well, short for me, just grazes my shoulders and it suits my lifestyle perfectly (my hairdresser who knows me so well showed me a pic of Olivia Palermo’s cut). I can still pull it back into a pony tail, I can clip it back, I can wear it with a centre part and I can straighten, or I can go to bed with wet hair and wake up with the whole ‘beachy’ look. ohhh have you considered a pixie cut?? I cut all my hair off a few years ago and it’s so so liberating!! The pixie cut is a bit more work, but I loved it :) but also, I love the bob, so much fun! Anyway, anything you choose, just pick something you’re excited about and it’ll be great. xxx

looks like she has finer, thinner hair-it looks great short and she’ll love it in Winter when she can stay in bed longer!

Definitely short, maybe with a little violet as well.

I had really wanted my long wavy hair cut short, and I did it! Now, I miss my long hair and dislike the styling of my short hair cut. I’m already letting it grow out…. :) That said, the model with short hair is stunningly bold. I like bangs!

she has such a sweet baby face, the bangs might make her look even younger (up to her if thats a good or bad thing!)

Caroline, I have had long hair for a long time, I then cut it short and it was a disaster, I cried in my car on the way home that day. If you decide to go short ease into it somehow so you don’t have a huge transition or as much time hating and waiting for it to get back to normal. Maybe the bangs and a tad shorter than it is now??

I voted bangs. I must say I love Caroline’s hair, it looks so perfect and shiny.
I’ve wore mine short for many many years and I’m now trying to grow it. But it’s hard because I’m always trimming it and it grows so slowly…
I’m looking forward to knowing the results and seeing the transformation pics.

Is her hair oily (like mine?) Is it thin? (like mine) If so (to either of these) = no bangs!! If not, I think the bangs would look amazing on her!

If she has oily or thin hair, I vote short! I also had the same long, brown hair for 30 years and recently cut it into a short, slightly messy bob. I LOVE LOVE LOVE it. Because I am petite (as is Caroline I think?) it just feels like it suits me better.

Can’t wait to see what she does!

I suggest to take it step-wise so you can enjoy several haircuts!
First a little shorter (shoulder length?) with lilac
and then you can always chop off more (and remove or keep the lilac) later…
You can also add bangs later although I think it will be nicer without.
