Richard Betts is one of a couple hundred master sommeliers in the world, but he’s not a snob. He actually believes that “wine is a grocery, not a luxury.” Cheers to that!

So he has written a scratch-and-sniff book all about wine. You learn how to identify wine aromas from bacon to fruit to cat pee (for real) and figure out which wines you like best. The book is beautifully illustrated by Wendy MacNaughton and seems to have a great sense of humor.

What a brilliant idea, don’t you think? I’m going to order it today. :)

P.S. 8 fun tips for drinking wine, and what to drink when you have a cold.
