I love me a side braid. I have been rocking them lately, as my hair is just now long enough.
But I must say, all credit must be given to Jane Seymour as Dr. Quinn Medicine Woman for the overall popularity of the side braid!

my favorite! I just need my layers to grow out a bit so they don’t stick out all over the place leaving my braid looking like a floppy hairy fish ….er….something?!

This is the only hairstyle I can do with my long hair to get it out of my face and not give me a headache!!!! I love the variations though, sooo pretty!

my life is braids pretty much everyday and the side braid is my favorite to sport. i work with 2nd graders 6 hours a day, so braids are the way to go =)

I had such long hair for years and then cut it short. I’ve been regretting that decission ever since I saw these models! I love the long side braid look!
The side braid and I are best friends. I have crazy, wavy long mermaid hair so they work wonders…especially if I haven’t wash my hair in a few days!

I do love the look of the side braids on these models. And I do have very long hair that allows me to wear styles like these.
But I am also very neurotic, and when I put the side braid in, I start to feel like my head is heavily weighted to one side. It drives me CRAZY! I inevitably have to take it out and put it in a perfectly centered ponytail instead…

Funny, I loved the sidebraid a few years ago and with my curly hair it worked well–a nice thick loose braid—but, I a few weeks ago I had it straightened with a Brazilian Kertatin treatment and now it’s so straight and smooth that the braid simply will not hold and looks really messy as opposed to “staged” messy. It figures that for once in my whole life I’d get in on a hair trend only to miss out on one even more current and a lot less expensive! ;)
