I just finished The Marriage Portrait by Maggie O’Farrell and it was such a great read!
Reading this post after just taking a series of mental pictures on my walk in the liquid sunshine – makes me feel so connected ✨
love this!
I’m hoping for all of these things because I’m coming to New York!! Brooklyn baby!! Good book on the plane, plenty of mental pictures, some easy food because someone else is cooking it, and some personal growth (while I’m working – wish me luck!). Been looking forward to this for so long, can’t wait to be back in my second favourite city :).
yay!!!!! hope you have a great time, deb!!
I love the way that Grace Farris reminds me to notice the simple joys and beauty that surround me.
All of the above!! Nachos tonight over here. Yum.
Oh Grace! This is spot on for the delights of a spring weekend.
Oh the mental picture one hit me hard! Tonight might have been (might is the word, as she’s the boss) the last time I breastfed my baby Alba, as at 15 months and not a single night sleep in her life I am pretty destroyed! When I stopped nursing my first I don’t remember any special feelings, but tonight I feel like my heart is all ache and tenderness and I am so overwhelmed. Such a lucky human I am. Grace, Jo, you always do it! Sending love to all this lovely lovely bunch of humans reading this.
May better sleep be heading your way! 15 months is a very decent shift, I hope you’re feeling proud of yourself and looking forward to the good things ending breastfeeding comes with… Dresses! Normal bras! Look after yourself please Xx
Laura your kindness is incredible. Thank you for taking the time to write that, it’s such an impossibly kind thing to do and such a hug from afar. A big big hug from me ♥️ Giulia
Always so lovely and relatable! I love your art, Grace Farris, a true Friday treat!
I’m in absolute heaven this weekend visiting Vienna, Austria! Just saw an exhibition at the Albertina Museum- one beautiful painting after another, then a great coffee and pastry at Offerl! Any Cup of Jo readers from Vienna? You have a beautiful city. :)
I try to fill the weekends that my daughter is with her dad with fun things. So, I’m getting a pedicure, squeezing my friend’s new baby, and having dinner with a friend I haven’t seen in a while. Also planning on some leisurely walks around the neighborhood with my dog.
