Brooklinen’s Big Birthday Sale

I bought the linen sheet set after seeing it advertised here a few months ago, and I have to say, they were terrible. They literally disintegrated in the bed! I gave it a few washes, trying to justify the huge price tag by telling myself I needed to “break them in,” but they just kept shedding and shedding (and I got the red ones, which left terrible red fuzz everywhere!) until they were threadbare and I’d had enough of vacuuming the fibers. I returned them and went with Linoto, which is made from heavier threads and from very high quality mills in Europe.

I ordered a bedding set from Brooklinen after reading about them here several times. We were really disappointed in the quality of their products. We got the striped cotton sheets, pillow cases and duvet cover. They are fine, but nothing special imho, and I found the wash instructions to be odd – cold water is recommended. We all have dust mite allergies in my family – hot wash is a must. Sadly, because of that, the sheets faded quickly and have otherwise not held up well (pulling at the seams, holes, etc.). The bigger disappointment was the beautiful stitched quilt and shams we bought (the “lightweight quilt set”). The stitching began pulling and falling apart after a few days. We sent them back and the company replaced it for free. Of course, the second set did the same thing. If the company allowed customers to rate and review its products on the website, I’m sure this quilt set would have been pulled from the product line by now because there is clearly a defect in its manufacture. But sadly the website does not allow for customer reviews and now that I’m familiar with the products, I think I know why – I just don’t think this brand is well made for the price. Every time I see the company advertised on the blog that I love so much, it makes me a little sad – I really feel like it does readers a disservice as there are definitely better quality bedding options on the market.

The Corgi in the sheets is adorable.

I ordered a percale set a few months back and sadly was so disappointed. They were cheap and scratchy so I tried washing and drying them but it didn’t help at all :( I was also bummed to see they were made in Israel but that one was my fault for mistaking “Brooklyn-based” for “made in America”. On the plus side, the return process was totally painless and I appreciated that.

Can you tell us anything more about the environmental impact of their products? It does not look like they offer organic cotton. Since the majority of the worlds cotton is genetically engineered, I wonder where their cotton is grown and if it is genetically engineered. I would rather not snuggle into that at night.

I ordered from Brooklinen and was super disappointed – the sheets smelled very chemical-y and weren’t at all what I expected, so I returned them. Plus, I found out from the tag that they were made in Israel, which is an oppressive state that occupies Palestine, so I especially didn’t want to keep them. Disappointed to see them always promoted on this website I love.

I bought some of their comfy clothes a few weeks ago and have been living in them! The shorts that are like sweatpants are a dream and their white tshirt is not see through (always a good find!) and super soft!

He taught me that dogs were more than merely animals – they deeply enjoy creature comforts as much as we do, 100% including whole food, cozy bedding and general thoughtfulness. Probably all animals do.

Cashmere is my weakness! Did I need to know there is such a thing as cashmere sheets??? HECK yeah!

I’ve been a big fan of their sheets for a couple of years now thanks to CoJ! I don’t need any linens or towels right now, but I’ve been wanting to try their bleach alternative and candles for a while. thanks!

I registered for two sets of sheets and a duvet cover from Brooklinen when we got married, and they are so wonderful. A little more expensive than what you can find elsewhere but they feel amazing!! Like a hotel bed. I also like their modern designs.

I splurged last year during their black friday sale and they are a game changer. I adore the feel of them and also adore that they are meant to look a bit wrinkly so I don’t feel guilty when they are :)

I looked at the linen sheets but find it frustrating that you have to buy a set. I have no use for a flat sheet, and would need extra pillow cases. Not being able to customize is the reason why I won’t be a customer.

What’s going on in the top image? Is that a child or an adult? Why are they holding a cup of coffee (?) in bed — with WHITE SHEETS, no less?!

Perfect timing on this post as my toddler decided to work on his colouring book in our bed this morning… ! I had been holding off buying new sheets until our littlest wasn’t in and out of our bed all night, but I think the addition of marker pens might be the straw that broke the camel’s back… off to browse!
