Tiny hoops to wear every day. (These are lovely, too.)
Bread socks because bread socks!
The most delicious chocolate pie from Four & Twenty Blackbirds.

The prettiest coin clutch.
A cool puzzle to work on together.
Dame’s vibrator and lubricant bundle, to make vacations (or random Tuesday nights) even more exciting.
Monikers, a laugh-out-loud word game that the New Yorker called “the perfect party game.”
Super comfy Nike leggings for evening walks and runs.

Girlfriend Collective has LOVELY leggings ;)
Happy Gift Guide season, CoJ community!
We love games too…some of our faves: Pandemic, lost cities, sequence, rummicub, Yahtzee, blockus, quiddler, Have fun!!
OK, CoJ community, come through for me:
My husband and I need a new game to play after our kids go to bed that works for just the two of us.
Yes, yes, I anticipate your mild sexual puns, but really!
There are four things we do after our kid’s bed time: “device” (be on our own screens), watch a movie, have some “us time,” or play a game – and I’m getting bored with our games! We mostly play Hugger Mugger or Bananagrams.
What games do you love that work for just the two of you?
Chess!!! (and while my class of kindergartners at school quickly learned it from the chess instructor, I needed to pick up “No Stress Chess” and learned it that way!)
We love uno! Or the card game called golf. Not a ton of thought,
But a little competitive. Easy to play when tipsy :) maybe some old school games like gin rummy?
hi Jessica, if you two are into logic games, my boyfriend and I love playing Quarto https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Quarto_%28board_game%29 (I actually received it as my first Christmas gift from him) or Master Mind (we bought it second hand at a flea market).
Hope this helps!
Scrabble, Colorku, puzzles, and NYT crosswords.
I love crib!
Carcassonne, Ticket to Ride, and Sushi Go are favorites of ours ?
So fun! We love games! Some of our go-to two-person games are Carcassonne, Pandemic, cribbage, gin rummy. We’ve also played Patchwork which some people LOVE but I don’t. Would love other recommendations myself!
We LOVE Wingspan which is a birding board game! (Can it get any nerdier…?) There are so many pieces and fun illustrations–when you’re first setting it up, there is so much to “build” that I was worried it would be too complicated. But it’s actually easy to play, perfect for two people, and so fun to play such an aesthetically beautiful game!
We’re pretty into Codename Duet. We’re super competitive and for this game you are on the same team, so no bitterness :)
7 wonders duel is a GREAT 2 person deck building game! Its different every time, and a LIL complicated to learn at first, but in the end its VERY fun.
AZULE
Where did you find that cool puzzle brand? I’m obsessed. Thank you for always sharing such a curated assortment.
This is so spot on for me! I already have a few haha!
I’m here to say adore! I would love these…
But no Nike! Argh their labor practices…
And sorry sweetie I need more than a note and a kiss for sleeping 365 with you farting in bed.
Second the Nike yuck. Especially their treatment of their sponsored female athletes.
Agreed! Love Cup of Jo, but no love for Nike.
Please, please, please No Nike!!!!
Right there with you! Love Cup of Jo but sad to see any promotion of Nike at all. ?
No Nike! I’m guessing the staff at Cup of Jo hasn’t seen Mary Cain’s story yet, and I would encourage them to listen to her experience (and those of so many other athletes).
thank you so much for this feedback!
“…sleeping 365 with you farting in bed”…. Omgosh my drink just came out of my nose!!
Wonderful suggestions. Anything chocolate also works.
I have those little gold hoops and I love them! Such a good size and shape.
Mudpuppy makes some great puzzles, too! I brought their “Little Feminist” one to a girls’ weekend and it was so fun to put together.
The Nike leggings say they’re not available any longer. May I get the name of them for future reference?
Love this list!
xx
My link worked in the Netherlands, they are called : Nike One Luxe.
I love everything. The puzzles are amazing! Ordered 2 of them and the monikers game as gifts for friends.
I am visiting New York next year for a Big Birthday (:S) and that Pie looks like the perfect celebratory treat!
Can anyone attest if the Four and Twenty Blackbird pies taste as good as they look?
Yes they are SO good!
I’ve never had one in person, but I have their cookbook and their recipes are SO YUM.
Every one is a knock-out, to the point that my husband will casually flip through the book and be like, “What about this one next?”
Can’t wait to taste an OG pie one day!
They are fantastic! For those of you not in NYC their cookbook produces delicious pies too! For the baker in your life!
I live around the corner from one of their locations and can attest that they are very good. However, my sister has the cookbook and I think her homemade versions might be even better!
Their salty honey is amazing!
Just booked at cityWell for the last day of the year! To surprise my husband. I am so excited!
I love eeBoo puzzles – its become my Christmas tradition since I separated from my children’s father and could only spend $100 on presents the first year to buy us all a puzzle to work on over the holidays. Year two I invested in a clear plastic board for moving it around so that we can have it out all week. It is something I look forward to purchasing as well as putting together along with a crisp glass of good cava!
I was all set to purchase those awesome socks for my sister until I got as far as the international shipping costs. Fifty dollars to post a pair of socks?? Why don’t they just say they won’t ship internationally? Curse the shiny internet and all the things it taunts me with that I can’t have!
Waahhh? Monikers is basically fancy Salad Bowl?
*adds to cart, ships to the sister who hosts xmas this year*
I love all of your gift guides!
Heads up that Nike has a history of assessing financial penalties on pregnant athletes and weight-shaming female runners to the point of injury. I love their running gear—but hearing this info (and particularly Mary Cain’s recent story) makes me think twice before buying.
Thank you for saying this! I love Nike’s gear, but as a fan and member of the women’s running community, I can’t bring myself to continue supporting them. Plus there are many wonderful women-friendly athletic apparel companies that deserve our patronage!
If you’re looking for some truly awesome leggings, I recommend Girlfriend Collective. Ethically-made from recycled water bottles, woman-owned, flattering and comfortable! I’m an avid hiker and I’ve worn a pair of their compression leggings on nearly every trip I’ve done in the last three years. They have held up beautifully and I’m not always gentle on my gear. :)
Totally! Nike also has a history of human rights violations in their labor practices; but by moving their factories around and spending boatloads of money on great marketing, they avoid a lot of the negative coverage and tarnished reputation. Their stuff might look nice, but it’s not worth contributing money towards a corporation that causes the harm they do. There are plenty of more positive companies making great gear.
Agreed! Another runner here, and Nike-related news over the past year has been deeply upsetting. Try New Balance or Oiselle!
I’ve been looking for tiny hoops and love those! Puzzles are definitely having a moment, I was never into puzzling until we started making them at the company I work for, eeBoo, and it’s been the perfect treat to take away with me on a girls weekend. It’s an especially good activity for a busy body you can never get to sit down to chat with, like my mother who otherwise wouldn’t stop cleaning! Anyway, if you’re looking for some beautiful and interesting puzzles check out eeBoo’s assortment too!
Thank you for the recommendation!
Wow – I LOVE Piecework puzzles. They are beautiful jigsaw puzzles – gonna get a whole bundle =)
Reading this I thought, I wonder if this is how Joanna tells Alex what she wants for Christmas :)
Haha you aren’t wrong!
How is it possible for this list to be so accurate??? Sending to my fiancée immediately :)
Me! I love reading in bed and eating all the chocolate! Feeling very seen by this list :)
The socks are adorable! Thank you for the price ranges in these guides.
