Priscilla Vega is a publicist for female entrepreneurs, and she also likes wearing women-owned brands, like Rachel Pally, Ixchel Triangle and Gjenmi. “I’m often wearing jeans and a tee, plus something extra, like a hat or dangly earrings. I call it my ‘flair!'” She lives with her husband and two kids in Monrovia, California. Here are five looks she wore in a week…
Top: Everlane. Shorts: Vintage. Necklaces: Maya Brenner x Midland and Able. Bag: Ixchel Triangle. Shoes: Everlane.
“This is my go-to outfit for work lunches and meetings. The shorts are a vintage find from Encourage Vintage. In high school, I just wore the same clothes that my friends wore from Hollister at the mall. But then in college, my roommate walked into our dorm on the first day barefoot, wearing skorts and a T-shirt with no bra. I had come from a military town and wore sports bras every day. She was fascinating to me. I was like, oooooh, you can have FUN with what you’re wearing! She never brushed her hair, she would just come out of the shower and twirl it. She introduced me to thrift store style.”
Top: Similar. Jeans: Madewell. Necklaces: Maya Brenner x Midland and Able.
“These pants are technically cropped, but because I’m five feet, cropped pants — even petites — fit me regularly. In the summer, we’ll go to local beaches and park our Airstream at a campsite or RV park. My husband grew up as a Boy Scout, but I had never camped. He really, really wanted to raise the kids camping, so our compromise was the Airstream. My friends say I can’t call it camping, but it’s legit camping! We cook outside, and the kids are outside… I take pride. I’m scared of bears and in a tent, you might as well be sleeping under a sheet.”
Dress: Rachel Pally. Shoes: Beeks.
“I mostly wear neutrals, but when I saw this red dress on Instagram, I decided to go for it. It’s perfect for date nights. My husband loves it, Ina loves it, even Ozzy. Ozzy is two and takes a literal approach — if I wear a red dress, he says I look like a strawberry. Ina is six and if she likes something, she will say, ‘Oh, Mom, that’s so FASHION.’ Now I’ve started saying it, too.”
Necklaces: Maya Brenner x Midland (similar) and Able. Bracelets: Starling x Baby Boy Bakery collaboration. Rings: Gjenmi, Gjenmi and Starling.
“I used to work for government and non-profit organizations, and the work focused on causes that mattered to me. I left that career path once I became a mother for the flexibility to manage my own schedule. This resist necklace is a daily reminder that no matter the work I’m doing, my voice still matters. I’m no longer writing stories about space exploration or the water crisis in California, but as a publicist, I empower women to take risks and fight for what they believe in. As a mother to a daughter and son, I feel that looking in the mirror every morning with this simple word on my neck is the best way to start the day.”
Shirt: vintage from @micknmarianne, similar. Jeans: J.Crew. Bracelets: Starling x Baby Boy Bakery collaboration.
“This summer, we took a family trip to Montana and we loved it. We saw grizzly bears, bald eagles, bison, elk and moose! Here, I’m wearing denim on denim because I like the cowgirl look. I’ve also never painted my nails a color or worn color on my lips. I love a red lip on other people, but it just doesn’t feel like me — I talk a lot with my hands and if they were a color I’d be endlessly distracted. Instead, I’ll do a lip gloss — Fat and the Moon makes a great cheek and lip tint, and Milk makes wonderful vegan lip stains.”
Top: Everlane. Pants: Everlane. Hat: Brookes Boswell. Bracelets: Starling x Baby Boy Bakery collaboration. Rings: Gjenmi, Gjenmi and Starling. Clogs: Bryr.
“I love Everlane because they offer some petite sizing. So do Madewell, Anthropologie and J.Crew. I also like shopping vintage on Instagram — noisaf, micknmarianne, encourage — because it seems like back in the day, they made more petites. I also just got a new bra from a brand called Cuup — it feels like a bralette but has underwire support. it’s amazing. it’s sheer and super light, it doesn’t dig in, even the underwire isn’t thick. it feels like the find of the year.”
Thank you so much, Priscilla!
