Reminds me of my sons (2 and 4), when they are sitting on the toilet. Me: “Are you finished?”
Them: “No”.
1 second later (in a very annoyed voice): Mooommyyyy I.AM.FINISHED!!!! Mooooommyyy!!!”
Love the illustration – reminds me of myself whilst I’m waiting for the kettle to boil!
I went to school with Brooke! Such a sweet girl! So exciting to see her on your blog!!
I think avocados have a similar life… “all good here, just a hard green avocado, can’t eat me yet”…. “OH MY GOD I’M RIPE RIGHT NOW EAT ME IN THE NEXT 6 HOURS OR ELSE!!!!”
Also the chip readers for credit cards. Can’t we make that less jarring?!
very much like a toddler
This is great, haha! I love the comment above about chip cards, but the comic first reminded me of avocados! You know, the whole hockey puck, hockey puck, hockey puck — GUACAMOLE — dead life cycle of an avocado.
I didn’t really understand this comic at first, but then I realized that that’s because I have an electric tea kettle (like I think most people who primarily drink tea and not coffee) and don’t really experience this.
Cute!
There was a “motivational” lecture an ex-company of mine did…talking about how water boils at 212 degrees Fahrenheit, not 211 and how much one degree of energy can make a huge difference.
Unfortunately for them, it was a scientific company and it was met with a lot of “Shouldn’t this be Celsius?!?” and “What if we add salt?!”
Moral of the story: Know your audience, or expect your point can be lost in the delivery!
Ha ha ha!!! I’m surrounded by scientists so this cracks me up.
This is me but like, my daily experience going to the restroom — I head to the bathroom with a completely reasonable, casual urge to pee, but then I get close all of a sudden it’s URGENT and I have to do that little dance.
Hahah…so funny! You made me lol.
These and the chip-insert credit card machines. From 0 to “EMERGENCY EMERGENCY PULL NOW BLEEP BLEEP BLEEEEEP!!!” real quick.
hahahaha YES!
Yes! So much stress! It’s the same feeling as when I have to put change away and feel that the whole world is waiting on me to finish.
Oh my gosh, so true. (Remember Target’s first one?!? I’d have to gear myself up when I got in line.) Thankfully some places have caught on an have an enjoyable sound rather than an anxiety inducing one, like Trader Joe’s friendly jingle on their card machine.
I don’t even use a tea kettle, but this is one of my favorite illustrations that you’ve ever had on here! So simple, but it cracked me up.
