Do you have any school lunch traditions with your kids? We keep them pretty simple (lots of peanut butter sandwiches and apple slices), but I like tucking notes in the boys’ backpacks. Along with Boxed, one of our go-tos for school essentials, here’s how we do it…
First off, Boxed is a fantastic online company that delivers groceries, cleaning supplies and pantry essentials in bulk (and at wholesale prices) right to your door. It’s a miracle for busy families — we’ve been hooked since placing our first order two years ago. Whether you need to stock up on peanut butter, cereal, toothpaste or paper towels, Boxed’s delivery is always fast and free. Bonus: Now we’re never out of toilet paper.
For our lunch notes, Alex and I sometimes write them onto a Ziploc bag. On Toby’s, we’ll put a message, and for Anton we’ll draw a picture (most recently, a robot). Lately, Toby has wanted to write the note to Anton and will add things like, “See you later!” or draw a picture of the Ford Fiesta rental car we drove over the holidays. We then fill them with favorite snacks, like these Goldfish crackers. They love finding the notes at school, and it’s sweet to think of them busting out a mushy message from home during their busy days.
Boxed carries everything you need for lunchbox notes (and much more), like Sharpies, Goldfish, Ziploc bags. And their own brand of household supplies, Prince & Spring, is especially affordable, high quality and has nice packaging, too. Here are a few more things we love about Boxed:
* You get 10% off your first order with the code GETBULK.
* Boxed has no membership fees, and shipping is free.
* They are the nicest company. Every box includes a hand-written thank you note, and you get to choose free samples every time you order. Also, one of their big missions is supporting education for their customers and their staff. Boxed CEO Chieh Huang even pays the college tuition for the children of every full-time Boxed employee (!)
Bonus for all readers: Buy select Ziploc and Goldfish products and get $5 off with code SCHOOL18 on Boxed through January 31st.
Also, Boxed invites parents and caregivers to write their own lunchbox notes and share photos or videos. If you’d like, tag @boxedwholesale and Boxed will reshare some of their favorites.
Thank you again, Boxed!
