This is my favorite Mari!!!! In fact, I think it made me realize how much closer I am than I thought I was to a great woman in my life. In my experience, we have an unconventional relationship pattern which often frustrates me, but as I read this list, it seems we are swell and I am lucky! Lovely! Thank you!
So good! There is such a tangible difference when it comes to kindreds! I wish I had more where I live now but it’s worth it to be patient and trust in the process.
Enjoy reading your blogposts.
Yes — I so miss having a friend in the “better” category. It’s hard to find, especially when you’re a parent.
I couldn’t agree more! You’re not alone! We moved states away and into a big city when my daughter was one. I have some lovely friends here but really miss the depth I have/had with pre-child friendships.

I absolutely love this and agree! Perfectly captures that next level of friendship!!
Mari makes Fridays the best.
Loved today’s, spot on! Made me smile about my three best women in the world :)
I love that this is about female friendships, and not a romantic relationship! It is important to have intelligent women in your life. According to this chart, we need them to tell us what we’re doing wrong (and right)! :)
I really love this one :) I’m sitting here thinking of my dearest friends for whom all of this is true!
I sent it to mine!
I have many (many) good friends and maybe no better friends, by this chart. :-/
You nailed it, Mari.
These definitely ring true for me. My good friend has just moved states and is struggling a bit with those feelings of loneliness. It’s tough to realize that they level of friendship you want with the people in your new city will just take time to grow and blossom into the type where you can text each other even when you have nothing to say.
Good friend: knows where you keep your snack stash. Better friend: Helps themselves to your snack stash ;) You’re brilliant, Mari!
So true! There are good friends that I text/call when I have plans or something to say, but my best friends I send random text through out the day.
