Date Night Dress | Cup of Jo

The other day, Alex and I went out to dinner in our neighborhood. The rainy spring has finally turned into a warm summer, so I figured I’d actually shave my legs and dress up a little…

I was psyched to have found this floral dress because it’s super soft, affordable and comes in 18 different colors. The fabric also magically doesn’t wrinkle, so it would be perfect for traveling. I’m planning to wear it all summer.

We ended up at the wine bar June, which has a beautiful back garden.

A dress that doesn’t wrinkle? I’m sold! I love wearing dresses to work in the summer but hate how wrinkly and sloppy they look after sitting down for awhile.

I’m a season girl too… but comfy dresses are my favorite to wear! Maxi style is my favorite as I haven’t wore a short dress in a long time! Just need the courage again! hehe

Looks like a perfect date night. That dress looks so comfy and effortlessly stylish! I have a similar floral dress and I love to take the comfort up a notch by wearing sneakers with it sometimes!

I ended up buying a dress from Nordstrom’s that you put on the site a month or two ago (blue paint pattern, pleated skirt…can’t wait to wear it to a friend’s wedding in August!), and I feel a repeat coming on…..

I can attest that the Rebecca Taylor dress is amazing on — I have it in the pink floral pattern and it feels wonderful and looks so flattering. The midi length is great for people like me who feel swallowed up by maxi dresses (I’m 5′ 6″ but have a fairly petite frame), and while the dress is drapey, there isn’t too much fabric. The colors are so pretty, too — strong but soft (I have a top in the same fabric that is shown in your post). And while it’s not overtly sexy, the neckline shows off a bit more shoulder than usual, and it’s really a nice look.

At any rate, I highly recommend it if anyone is feeling like a bit of a splurge! (Though it happens to be on sale, which helps.)
