Honest Beauty

We’re lucky enough to share a Brooklyn office space with some really nice people, including Tory, Hayley and Nic, above. So, when The Honest Company introduced their new cosmetics collection, Honest Beauty, we decided to step away from our computers and play with makeup. Here are the before-and-afters…

As longtime fans of Honest, we knew we’d love how thoughtfully Honest Beauty is produced — the whole 80-product line is free of unwholesome ingredients like parabens and formaldehyde — but we were surprised by its luxuriousness. After seeing the effects up close, we’re looking forward to wearing it everywhere, from work to date nights to holiday parties.

Look #1: Fresh

Honest Beauty Tory Williams

Honest Beauty Tory Williams

As a professional photographer, Tory Williams has shot dozens of brides in the makeup chair, but she keeps her daily routine low key. Her fun, beachy vibe was perfect for a polished look that was still casual. “I feel amazing,” she said. “I want to look like this every day.”

One of Honest’s standout products is Magic Balm, a smooth, nourishing blend of organic fruit and botanical oils. It softens and soothes in magical ways. We used it to highlight Tory’s cheekbones and nose bridge, giving her a fresh glow.

Tory’s look: Truly Lush Mascara and Primer \ Brow Filler in Rich Brunette \ True Velvet Eyeliner in Truly Cocoa \ Lip Gloss in Creative Kiss \ Luminizing Powder in Midnight Reflection \ Crème Blush in Truly Thrilling \ Eyeshadow Trio in Truly Warm Sable Brown \ Magic Balm

Look #2: Chic

Honest Beauty Hayley Nichols

Honest Beauty Hayley Nichols

Hayley Nichols, a native of Oklahoma who has a 70s cool-girl look we envy, runs our office. She is always game to try anything, but she’s usually a makeup minimalist. “I was surprised by how weightless this makeup feels on my face, like I barely had anything on at all,” she said, echoing everyone who tried the products. (All three women got their flawless skin coverage from Honest Beauty’s lightweight tinted moisturizer.)

For Hayley, we chose a throwback look with a cat eye that’s a little cheeky and perfect for a night out.

Honest Beauty Chic makeup look

Look #3: Glam

Honest Beauty Nic Annette Miller

Honest Beauty Nic Annette Miller

With her striking features and amazing hair, we were excited to see creative director Nic Annette Miller in a glamorous look. “The eyebrow pencil is my favorite,” she told us. “I stopped tweezing a year ago and the brow filler is particularly great for defining their shape.”
