Have you guys seen this trick for riding a bike in a skirt? If you have a penny and a rubber band, you can prevent yourself from flashing people. (I also secretly want to be friends with the girls in this video. They’re so cute!)

At one stage or another, every man woman or child will be faced with the issue of but tops for women UK. While much has been written on its influence on contemporary living, spasmodically it returns to create a new passion amongst those who study its history. The juxtapositioning of but tops for women UK with fundamental economic, social and political strategic conflict draws criticism from the over 50, many of whom fail to comprehend the full scope of but tops for women UK. In the light of this I will break down the issues in order to give each of them the thought that they fully deserve

Every time I see a girl on a bike with a dress I worry about that. … dressypantsforwomen.blogspot.com
I never thought of something like this! Clever! :-)
I usually ride one-handed holding the fabric down when I’m wearing a dress or skirt. I will use this trick the next time!!
How about wrinkles in the skirt though..?
One of the girls in this video was a student in a couple of the college classes I taught! How funny…small world!
oh wow that’s brilliant! i hadn’t seen this before so thanks for posting, it’s a much needed trick :)
This is kind of perfect! So simple an yet so helpful! Thank you for posting, I hadn’t seen this yet!
This is an essential blog post.
(Thank you so much for sharing!)
Discovered this just in the knick of time, brilliant!!
What is even cuter, is that pants in Britan refers to your undies. Trousers is the correct way to refer to what we call pants. Thus the giggling every time they say “penny in your pants.”
omg i had a fail bike ridding in a dress the other day and i got off and oh joy at least i was at the side of whole foods no one was looking. so yes im using this !!! this is super cute. thank you
Genius! I haven’t seen this before, so thank you for sharing. :)
Omg this is a perfect video for me! I go to UC Davis aka bike town!

What a nice trick:D Unfortunately not good for me because I’m that kind of a person who would have that penny and rubber band whole day there stacked in my skirt…
My husband just saw this online and suggested it to me! I bike every day and I love skirts. I tried it earlier this week on my way to work, (with a quarter, not a penny) but my skirt was too slim-fitting and the coin popped out as soon as I got on my bike. That was a self-conscious ride :) I tried it again this morning, however, with a fuller skirt, and it worked like a charm! I find you also have to wrap the elastic band around a few times to make sure it’s good and tight and won’t pop out. Genius trick!
My improvement would be to use two strong magnets, they wouldn’t wrinkle the fabric and you could stick them to your (steel) bike frame so that they are always handy.
I ride my bike everyday, and honestly, I don’t mind flashing people, my undies cover as much as a swimsuit does, and and it only takes a fraction of a second to lift your leg over the top bar.
I ride exclusively in short, full skirts, so this might be an option for wearing a wider variety of shapes of skirts, tho.
what a great idea! Love it, thank you for posting! I will check it for sure, maybe I will start wear skirts again (I ride bike every day too)
For those worried about wrinkles, wouldn’t a safety pin do the same thing? Pin the front in back together between your legs toward the bottom of the skirt and it kind of makes your skirt work like shorts.
I just shared this, and I think it is a great idea – not just for biking, but if a strong wind comes up. That famous photo of Marilyn Monroe might never have happened, if she’s had a penny and a rubber band!
love it!
Such a neat trick! x
This is a great idea! It is always a problem to ride a bike wearing a skirt LOL

what about the wrinkles?
Excellent idea! Those girls are too cute! Love it!
I so needed this on the 4th of July. My boyfriend and I went go-karting and I was in a skirt! I couldn’t get the speed I needed to beat him because I was so worried I was flashing everyone each time I made the turn. Next time..next time!
This is really genius! I’m from Amsterdam and I cannot believe I’ve never seen this!
I haven’t seen this video. What a brilliant idea! I usually just wear spandex shorts from american apparel underneath my skirt and then take them off after I’ve arrived at my destination.
Ha, this is totally awesome!
This is perfect for riding my Vespa, too! Thanks for sharing.
Those girls are adorable, and genius!
I couldn’t handle the wrinkles it would create.
So clever! DOING THIS!
I work with Jo (the girl in the video) and can confirm she is indeed very cute, rather awesome, and a fun friend!
Also useful if you go to the park with your kids and are constantly getting down at their level !
That is too funny! I live in Amsterdam and ride around in dresses and skirts constantly in the summer. I don’t really ever have a problem with flashing people, but I ride a ladies bike and I noticed in the film that these ladies seem to ride a gentleman’s bike (with a bar straight across instead of swooping down). Is that more common in the States? Here a lot of men even ride ladies bikes… I think they’re more common. :)

My mind has seriously been blown! This is so simply but would be so handy, I know when I ride my bike around I at least always have an extra hairband and some loose change. Summer has been changed forever.

We’d love to be friends :) Thanks for sharing the #pennyinyopants love! A brand new and improved version (proceeds headed to support Aghanistan women’s cycling team) coming out soon!
I work with Jo (in the video) and can confirm that she is indeed very cute and pretty awesome.
Haha! Adorable and brilliant!
This is so cute and so useful!
Have been thinking about this ever since I saw the video last week. Only issue I could foresee is some awkward wrinkles with less resilient fabrics. Must try!
BRILLIANT!!
Brilliant!! Also, yeah… I totally want to be their friend.
New to me – and FANTASTIC!!
I haven’t seen this! Brilliant. Wish I had found that out before wearing a dress a few weeks ago on my bike. I was so self-conscious and tugged on it the whole time! I used to be love riding in longer flowy skirts-or with tights-way back when I studied abroad, but this was not that kind of dress, and people just don’t bike in skirts as often in MN as in the UK. I had to do it though, it was date night :)
wonderful!! i haven’t seen it before and have been having major flashing issues lately ;)
thanks, great idea, will try asap
So smart. Every time I see a girl on a bike with a dress I worry about that. Maybe they all know the penny trick already!
Thank you for posting! I’ve struggled with this exact problem all week long – finally a solution. And so simple! Brilliant!
Um, way brilliant! this makes me want to get a bike, just so I can ride it in a skirt!
Genius! It didn’t made its way to Germany until now : ) I live in a bicycle-city, so me and my girlfriends really appreciate this trick!
it’s such a good trick though! last weekend my fiancé and I rode our bikes at governor’s island and he suggested I wear a cute dress, but we ended up wearing less-cute work out clothes instead, just for this reason! thanks for the trick (I haven’t seen it before, so don’t feel bad about posting :P)
oh my gosh! what a big difference this simple trick makes! I wish I knew this when I was a little girl riding my bike all over town…
i know this has been everywhere online, but i couldn’t help posting! :)
