Do you ever get in a food rut? Over the past few years, ninety percent of the time we made pasta, and the other ten percent of the time we made tacos. (Or at least it felt that way.) It’s so easy to fall into a cooking routine—and get stuck there. But now that we’ve been using Blue Apron, the meal subscription service that delivers a box every week with fresh ingredients for three meals, we’ve been shaking it up! Here are a few out-of-the-ordinary meals we’ve tried recently…
First off, we made this beautiful spring tart with asparagus, spring onion and gruyere, along with an arugula salad. It’s the kind of thing we would never typically venture to make—I mean, you make the crust from scratch—but it was absolutely delicious to try, and fun to learn how quickly you can pull something like this off.
Other Blue Apron recipes lately include: Kung Pao chicken tacos, Swedish meatballs with braised kale, mushroom stroganoff, French onion soup in a sourdough bread bowl, coconut curry salmon steaks, short-rib burgers on pretzel buns, chicken potstickers, eggplant shawarma, pan-roasted bratwurst, fresh turnip green cacio e pepe pasta…(We stuck with vegetarian, but the meat/fish options sound wonderful!)
It’s great to enjoy so many flavors and make different cuisines. (Not that I don’t love tacos and spaghetti, but still!) Here are photos of past recipes, if you’d like to see—and here are the recipes for this week (YUM).
What do you typically cook? Do you get into ruts, or do you have a larger repertoire? Would you try Blue Apron? It’s such a fresh and delicious service, and it would also make a great wedding present for at-home date nights.
Bonus for all readers: Blue Apron is offering two free meals to the first 250 readers who click through and get a box.
Thank you so much!
