Whoa! Have you seen the work of Andrew Miller? He makes children’s portraits out of hundreds of tiny family photos of them. How incredible is that? (It must take him approximately 1,000 years.)
P.S. More amazing baby photos…

wow! i love this!! Thanks for sharing!
Just last week I had a discussion with a photographer about this technique. He had taken a ton of pictures at the lake he had been going to for years and with a free program he created a similar image of a cove and cliff at the lake w/ the mosaic of other photos he had taken.
We were thinking of other images to use this technique with. As a graduation gift with pictures of the graduate at all different ages, etc…
The more images you have the better the end product.
Whoa! Those are so cool!
you can make it with mosaic software ;)
Oh wow, I really don’t get how this thing is made! For the wedding of my best friend we also had one of these artworks made- all friends and family sent their most loved photo’s and a picture of the bride and groom came out. It looked amazing!
Love this! Here in Muskoka we have a huge wall mural at the locks in Port Carling (http://www.roadsideattractions.ca/portcarling.htm) made up of small historic photos…it is amazing and the idea of doing something similar and more personal is wonderful.
1000 years indeed! But worth every second of it. These are genius!

This are so cute! I’ve been working on a project like this on photoshop, only, it includes photos of all people in my life, and I have no idea what picture to use for the big picture! Such a hard decision!
Wow, so great!
Beautiful artwork.
I so love this idea. I lost my little girl two months ago and just may need to do this. Beautiful.
I have these made as a wedding present for every wedding I go to and they’ve been a huge hit! Only $25 for an 8 X 10 and they turn out so great!
MIss J,
These collages are surprisingly straight forward to create. I often make one for special presentations at work.
If you would like one of Toby, I would be more than happy to make one for you.

These are incredible! I love the mosaic piece of the family in the prairie in white. Lovely!

I have to agree with Jamie — there are Photoshop or After Effects tutorials all over the internet that show you how to pull off the photo mosaic. Here’s one:

Kudos to him for marketing the idea to parents and other sentimental types – have to applaud the marketing if not the skills involved. You can be sure he doesn’t create an actual collage of multiples of your un-doctored photos. Just look closely…..
So unique!
Wow, these are amazing.
What a great concept!
Hope the NY heat isn’t getting to you and the little guy. Keep cool, give him lots of ice cream!!!
Wow. I have no idea how he does that….
Wow!!! This is absolutely amazing!! What a fabulous concept!

What a cool look!
It would be fascinating to look at the pictures up close to see all the individual photo components. Very cool.
Those are a lovely idea but SO easy to create, he clearly just super-imposes the focal image on top of a grid of your photos and blends them together using a couple easy filters and by playing with the transparency. It’s not actually a larger image created from a several smaller ones, it’s just made to look like that. Def not worth the $1000+ price tag!
AMAZING! I love it!
Wow! I’ve seen work like this, but never made to order of your very own loved ones! That’s amazing!
haha, 401, maybe you’re right :)
wow these photographs look amazing.
INCREDIBLE! I wonder how he does it!
xo,
Amy
so cool.
Wow, that is really incredible. Maybe I just feel this way because I’m not a parent, but I think having a giant picture of a baby on my wall would freak me out.
Wow, that certainly is an amazing work of art! Also, your “p.s.” baby photo link is too cute – love it!
this is so beautiful! cool and awesome! i wonder how many photos are needed to make one of these.
ahhh-mazing
This is amazing!!!!!
Oh my gosh! Amazing!!
wow he’s so talented
Wow these are amazing! Such a great idea for artwork.
I always love photo collages like this but have never seen one as a baby picture. That’s pretty neat :)
I love it ! xxx
