It can’t really have success, I feel so.

They do look more fresh. And even the preserves in Sarabeth’s after have a better color.

How cool! I remember in college one advertising class I took we had to “redesign” logos. It was fun but I didn’t do such great work. lol
I dunno, I’m kind of a morton salt girl guy myself, and I’m leaning toward *all* of the “befores”. While I do agree that the improved logos are more pleasing to the eye, I personally prefer simple, slightly homemade logos–I feel like I can trust a company more if their image isn’t too polished. The logos on the left feel more earnest and honest, those on the right, more corporate.
It’s like the ones on the left are old favorites that could have cult followings. I can imagine the relief of finally finding a sack of the old Dufour flour so I could finish up the finest birthday cake ever made. The new American Spoon logo makes me feel like I must be in Manhattan and hoping nobody is seeing me paying too much for whatever this is. I mean, look at that font! Was it around in 1982? I’ll hazard not. The old logo makes me feel like I’m in north west connecticut buying the same thing they’ve been making for ages and ages.
That’s not to say the new logos aren’t very well done–they are super nice. And I would really like them if I didn’t feel that so many little pieces of my life are becoming more plasticy and “refined” I’m fiending for authenticity. And flaws are my cup of tea.

I love “before” hanky panky it’s sexy!
i really like how in most cases, there’s a connection to the old logo. a little “freshening up” is sometimes so much more appropriate the a total overhaul.
SUCH a big difference…I really like the Dufour one.
fun and super stuff. american spoon foods is from my tiny hometown of petoskey michigan. woot woot for us michiganders.

These look great. It amazing what a difference small changes can make.
what a clever way to showcase her skills!
Hi,
In my opinion, “Hanky Panky” takes the Oscar(R) for best upgrade.
Kind regards,
José
totally agree. love, love her work!
This is one of my favorite games. My husband has a book of logos that have been redesigned through time and it is so interesting. Thanks for this post!
hanky panky looks more swanky.
A wonder what those little changes can do! Agree with fresh fish creative though, I like the stitched hanky panky better too.
Such an amazing change. Though I too am quite fond of both Hanky Panky logos. The former is very vintage and retro – so cute!
Huge! I wonder if she does trade?
xo
the new labels are wonderful!
I do! Manhatten Fruitier had the most effect on me
ohh yes, wonderful designs I love the changes of “dufour” much better, kisses from barcelona
Impressive!! It’s amazing what a good graphic designer can do for a logo.
Wow! I love those changes so much more! :-)
Agreed. I wonder what the new fonts are?
stopping by, to say hI!
xoxo
the new ones really do make a difference. small edits can make big changes! :)
Especially the “Hanky Panky” design! Major improvement…
She did a great job! I especially love the hanky panky one and the dufour one.
Am new to your blog. Hello!
Jealous of your trip to Paris :)

Oh yes, she did great!
wow! is louise fili in the air?–i just poured over her site for the last two days…(bonbon needs a serious makeover!) she is a genius!
Love her changes. Some people are so talented!
Brilliant!
Hi, I’m new here and I love my Cup of Jo!
Just wanted to introduce myself, my food blog is http://www.twinyolks.blogspot.com, come say hi!
The letters on the hanky panky font MUST be close together…gives the buyer a heads up for the tight squeeze into a one-size-fits-all panty!
It’s funny how switching a sans-serif with a serif font, or using a thinner line can make the world of difference, but it does!
Oh my gosh, YES. It’s like those logos can breathe again.
Agreed, but I like the stitched hanky panky better.
yes they do! wonderful designs :)
