Pretty Fall Shoes

Pretty Fall Shoes

What’s on your fall wishlist? My top item is soft oxfords. Lexi wore them to work the other day and they looked amazing — like tomboyish ballet slippers. They pair well with jeans and sweaters (and would make great travel shoes, too). I’d love to wear them all fall.

My favorites are these suede Hobes from Australia. Three other nice styles: Sanuk, Zuzii and Pikolinos.

Thoughts? Aren’t they cute?

P.S. 9 fall trends, and fall braids.

  1. Cool–I’ve never heard of this brand before. They look comfy like ballet slippers! XO

I have 2 pairs of Hobes and LOVE! My husband also wears his all the time. So happy to see them on this site!

    • Lindsey do you wear the hobes with or without socks?

  3. I love those shoes! I would have so much fun experimenting how far I can go with different types of socks.

I have three pairs of Hobes and love them. The leather sparkler Hobes are the softest, strongest and most forgiving – I’m convinced they’re the best. They cost more upfront but will wear better and last longer! And yes, they are fantastic travel shoes!

  5. LOVE these shoes. I’m in the market for a new pair of boots butttt I really do love these …

  6. These look so cutesies!!!!! And they look extremely comfy too :)

  7. Gorgeous! Definitely on my wishlist now.

  8. These were huge in SF about 3 years ago. That in no way means I don’t like them:). Anniel dance oxfords seemed to have started the trend, via Steven Alan.

I’m obsessed with the Nicholas Kirkwood beya loafers. I have them in white and i just ordered another pair in black patent leather. They are beyond comfortable and super chic! xo yael

  11. Love them. The Hobes booties remind me of the Roots boots we used to wear in the suburbs of Mi in the 90’s!

When I was a kid we called these Jazz Shoes. I lived in a pair of black ones in High School…might need a new pair for this fall. Can you do trends again if you already did it? I say YES! if you love it.

  13. Very cute. I will have to give them a try! I’m really digging the slip-on loafers that are everywhere now, too.

  14. Kristin says...

I really love the Hobes and Zuzii shoes. The only thing keeping me from buying them is the fear that they might not hold up well? I live in a city and am walking outside constantly, so I wonder how long these would last.

    • Lexi Mainland says...

They seem really well made so I think they’ll hold up well (unless they get really wet?)! When I get a pair of shoes I love that are a little delicate I sometimes take them to the cobbler and ask them to put a paper thin Vibram rubber sole on them. You can’t see it at all, and it makes them last forever.

Love the hobes and zuzii’s (my daughter had a pair of dark grey zuzii’s and they were the cutest on her little feet!). The sseko booties are currently on my wish list.

How in the world do you keep suede shoes from not getting filthy in the city? ;) I never owned a pair when we were in Brooklyn for that fact alone.

  16. Zuzii’s have been on my wish list for awhile. They look so comfy!! I want a pair for both Luna and I because I secretly love matching with my girl. I just cant help it!

Check out Sseko’s gorgeous loafers and new blue suede lace-ups: http://ssekodesigns.com. Their shoes (and fabulous leather totes) are made by, and support, women in East Africa. (Joanne, I’d love to see you incorporte ethical fashion into your wonderful recommendations!)

    • Katie @ Operation Happier says...

I second this suggestion! I just watched a documentary on fast fashion called The True Cost (on Netflix). Incredibly eye opening and made me want to buy differently!

I’m really feeling this style, too!

Just snagged a pair of Elizabeth Suzann’s new fresh take on oxfords (if you haven’t seen them, you MUST).

American Apparel makes a very affordable version of this jazz-shoe oxford, too!

  19. Glenda says...

I have a black pair from last year. Bought them at Steve Madden. Comfy. Love.

  20. Kelly says...

I have the pikolinos in a tan/brown color and have basically lived in them since purchasing. They go with everything and are so comfortable!

  21. Jenn says...

    How about skirts?

  22. Michelle says...

Oh man nothing beats a good pair of oxfords, my last pair (grey suede with gum bottom pink soles) just died and I have been searching for replacements! This post came at the perfect time, thanks!

  23. Kate says...

I have some suede oxfords that I LOVE and always get compliments on but be warned that they can get trashed super easily – if they get wet, scuffed, etc. So don’t wear them if it might rain or you have to go on a long walk or something.

  24. Love both pairs! Definitely need to snag some for myself!

Very cute! I would go with the brown or metallic pink for fall.
