When I was little, I felt so bad for my mom when she got things like soap and tea towels for Christmas. How sad! I thought. But now that I’m a grown-up, I understand the appeal. Don’t you love these dish towels from Tas-ka?

I love getting things for the house ever since I live alone, whether it’s as gifts or I get them myself. It’s just so much fun.
I totally agree, I’d take kitchen towels over barbie dream car any day ;)
So funny, and so true. I thought the same thing when I was younger (and also thought a gift of underwear from my mom was quite disappointing at age 12. Now I’d be ecstatic with that as a present!)
Ha! I totally know what you mean about thinking dish towels were lame presents for my mom. But now…I LOVE these. I especially love the little hook!
Call me crazy, but when when I’m traveling I look for a dish towel as a souvenir. So far I have some from Paris + various cities in the US. Tried to get one in Tokyo but couldn’t find any — bummer! Did score a bento box tho. :)
i found myself in the kitchen section of anthropologie this weekend perusing the tea towels… and i thought, is this what it’s like to be a grown up?
Gorgeous. I had some pretty once too until I got married and he used them to mop up spills. Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
I love a cute dish towel. Must be age and having a place of my own.
Anything new to spruce up the kitchen is always welcome. It gives me the chance to toss out something tattered. These are lovely.
If I would get these I would surely clean my kitchen.
You probably get a ton of these but just to let you know how much I love your blog too, I passed on a Lovely Blog Award to you!

Jo,
I just posted this pictures of my dog leaping into the air – taken this weekend

They reminded me of the cats on Smitten that you recently posted. Hope you like them (p.s. taken in the garden of my house in Totnes, Devon)
I always say you know you’re a grown-up when you get excited about receiving towels and sheets for Christmas!
so cute! i love it when something that seemed kinda boring becomes fun too. like vacuums! (dyson, i love you.)
Who says a tea towel needs to be drab. Great designs!!!
These are gorgeous…I’ve given you a Lovely Blog Award by the way!

So pretty!! I would be scared for them to get dirty though, with a six year old I go through things like these very quickly.
I totally agree – my mom just got the most gorgeous flower pot for her birthday and I’m so jealous!
I also love fun things like aprons and dish towels!

This post really rang true for me. When I recently spied the gorgeous Mozi teatowels I thought the same thing. Funny how things go around isn’t it? (If you are interested, the Mozi range is fantastic: see http://www.mozi.com.au .)
love them! i need new ones!
it’s funny how you change as you grow up- don’t get me wrong I still love a good coloring book for christmas but I was pretty excited this christmas when I got a sweet blender/food processor. hehe
Tea towels have changed alot since then. These are adorable.
I love love love these. My favorite place to buy dishtowels is Sur la Table…I go to the one in SoHo whenever I can just to look at all the wonderful things in there. Oh and I love Fishes Eddy. They have great ones there too…and great everything else!
:)
Oh so cute! I love the pink, not sure if it would stand up to my kitchen though…
too funny. Now I get all excited with a pretty dish towel too. Oh, how things change.
Love the pink set-so dainty and fun! I’m starting to appreciate things like this much more now that I’m getting older and moving into my first house with friends later this summer :)
Yes, and I love getting clothes and soap for Christmas!

They’re such beautiful dish towels. I would felt bad using it.

Now, there’s no way to make the sweat socks my Dad would get from my Grandma a better gift….
Love that cute pink one on the left! What is it about pretty linens that’s so great???
yes I do!!
haha! it’s so true. I used to wonder why anyone would smile after opening a present and seeing yarn. now, i totally understand!
How cute are the egg bowls & the soup cups??!
I am in love with this site! I think my favorite things were the potholders. So cute! I am quite excited for having my own home someday, just so I can decorate it all pretty :)
That is so true! I always thought what my mom got for Christmas was so practical and boring, but it definitely makes sense now :)
