P.S. If you’re reading this at night and mom voices.

FYI, I read years ago when first looking into baby carriers that facing out can adversely affect baby’s spine and hips, while throwing off both baby’s and mom’s centers of gravity. Might be worth reading up on!
I read it with pleasure. Great article!
This is the sweetest and spot on. I’m loving watching rom coms with my daughter! Also, I just had a chance to meet Grace in person at a conference and she is just as delightful as these comics. 🤗
While shopping in Costco I passed a mom with child in the grocery cart wailing, “I dont want to be here the rest of my life!”
When my son started daycare at two he started to say ‘shall we play?’, ‘shall we build a tower?’ Our house felt very classy for a period of time!
OMG CUTEST
Was anyone else thinking Muriel’s Wedding before they read the caption?!
Aww I recently had the first time facing out in the carrier. It’s a whole new world for baby!
As a teacher, I love the first one (I think it’s hilarious when they do that too)!
My daughter (9) is currently obsessed with saying “open to the PUBLIC.” It cracks me up every time.
Any recommendations for family friendly movies that are clean and wonderful? Thank you so much, in advance. XX.
yes! we loved Yes Day, Alexander and the Terrible No Good Day, Ramona, Parent Trap and Enchanted. If you’d like a kid’s take, here are my boys reviewing a few movies: https://cupofjo.com/2019/05/06/best-family-movies-night/
:)
If you have young teens, I really liked That Thing You Do as a kid. It’s a comedy about a band trying to make it in the 60s, which sounds like it wouldn’t be family friendly but I think it is. Check online for more information about potential content issues.
My 10-yr-old daughter’s favorite movie is The Princess Bride. Also, from the trailer, I was prepared to absolutely hate Boss Baby, but it’s actually deep for a kid movie and a metaphor for how a child reacts to the new baby in the family. I was surprised by how much I liked that one. And, of course, The Princess Bride is iconic.
Yes Day
I see that people have recommended Yes Day – just be prepared for your kids to ask (demand) for a Yes Day of their own! we finally caved and did one, but part of me wishes they had never seen the movie haha :-)
Literally cannot sit through Mamma Mia!
Literally cannot not sit through Mamma Mia!
Every.single.time. I pass it on tv :)
SAME
I love Mama Mia. I read a review that said it was a housewife’s rose fueled fever dream and I thought, yes it is! My kids had a whole host of questions about how someone might not know who their father is and let’s just say it took our birds and bees conversations to a knew level. I’m all for those teachable moments!
Love Mama Mía. Saw the musical performed on stage when it first came out so many years ago. delightful. Also enjoyed the movie!
I love, love, love That Thing You Do!
When my children brag about how they purchased an item on sale.
Aw years ago I asked my toddler niece if she wanted to go to target and she responded “do we have any coupons?” 😭
Yes the world needs wonderful parents and cherished kids. The world also needs the ability to choose safely whether to be a parent. Sadly that has been taken away today, 6/27/22.
We kind of overdid it on Mamma Mia (it was the high school play this year) but hoping for You’ve Got Mail soon!
My 4 year old put on her shoes by herself and proclaimed, “Big kids do big things!” It’s been adopted as a new phrase around our house but it definitely originated at preschool.
I love this so much!
I don’t have kids but I’m adopting this for myself.
Ooh, I want to use that line on my graduate students when they drop the ball on basic adulting tasks, like setting appointments for meetings. (Seriously. They just cannot seem to do it.) “Big kids do big things!” Actually, what I should really tell them is, “A 4-year-old can figure out things! Why can’t you?”
Including trying fun nail polish and watching a bunch of TV without feeling weird about it.
Including the joy of Rihanna and the coat I keep spotting in Brooklyn.
