By the wonderful Grace Farris.
P.S. Types of sweater weather and signs you’re in cozy season.
I thought you were talking about knickers……….I was wondering how fleece knickers would work…………maybe they would?
Foolishly, when I moved to Florida I gave up my beloved drawer of sweatpants and fleece. Then I realized that there are 3 months of the year when the temps dip into the 40s and 50s and shorts and capris won’t work.
This made me laugh so much because I read it as an English person. Why was someone wearing denim, fleece, or 17 year old knickers????? Then it clicked that you were talking about trousers! Fleece knickers might be extra warm though. x
I was just talking about my favorite polka dot flannel pj pants earlier tonight! When they’re clean, it’s extra exciting to crawl into them after the work day is done! And if they’re clean AND it’s Friday night? That’s about as exciting as it gets around here. :)
Right? I’m so obsessed.
YOGA PANTSSSSSSSSSSSSS
The real VIPs of 2020, let’s be honest.
Ha! So true!
What about pockets? That’s why my cozy pants are jeans. Gotta have pockets (and not the slappy sweatpants kind.)
I buy men’s pajama bottoms for the pockets.
Check out the Eddie Bauer Trail Tight Leggings. TWO zippered pockets and they hold in/up all your kibbles and bits, they are DREAMY! And only $45. I never want to be without them.
I finally splurged on the fleece Patagonia pants because: three pockets.
Five years ago I bought LLBean’s women’s flannel-lined khakis. They are so comfy. They’re discontinued, of course. Women can’t possibly have thick fabric on their bodies. They weren’t flattering, I suppose, but they were stylish like Diane Keaton. They definitely make a statement few women currently make: I’m a woman who wears khakis. Anyhow, they are like double layer sweatpants. This fall I had to replace them with Lands’ End men’s flannel-lined khakis. They’re men’s, so they aren’t flattering again, but who cares? I look more put together than I would in sweats (which are made of criminally thin material) and I feel so warm and cozy. I love them. I’ve been wearing only these pants since I got them. I bought them in two colors. Life is a dream.
Um ok so maybe you don’t live in Canada ;) because these – https://www.eddiebauer.ca/view/women/jeans/material-fleece/
So True!
Great cartoon.
I have a garment in my soft clothes drawer that I bought in 1976; and it hasn’t been worn since then. It became a drawer pet long ago.
The pandemic made me finally update my cozy pants drawer with things that make me feel like I look vaguely stylish AS WELL AS fully cozy. If this is what I’m going to be wearing 85% percent of the time, and I’m usually a person who likes to dress… well, it was time to update the drawer!
Now I have velvet cozy pants, better fitting cozy pants…
I’m still on the hunt, though, for my white whale: pleat-front cozy pants that look like real-ish pants but feel like loungers.
There are a lot of pants online that *could be* those pants, but no one wants to talk about fabric weight or feel (how am I supposed to know how cozy your nylon blend is, Aday?!?!) in their product description.
So if anyone has any tips, let me know!
My friends at the office swear by these: https://athleta.gap.com/browse/product.do?pid=530640#pdp-page-content
Literally EVERYONE has them in both black and navy. Maybe they’ll scratch the itch?
Edit: The cozy pants PILE. Let’s be honest – those puppies need to be easily accessed and kept on regular rotation, best accomplished in pile form. ;)
Hahaha! Truth! Cozy pants piled on the bedroom chair :-D
I am such a fan girl for Dr. Farris. I just always feel so seen by her, and her art style is just so cozy and familiar within itself. Plus she’s literally out here saving lives?! Damn. Go Dr. Farris!!!! <3
So true with one glaring exception – jeans do not go anywhere near the cozy pants drawer, I don’t care how soft the denim is.
yeah no structured pants, tyvm
I strongly concur. Why are there zippers and ::shudder:: buttons in the cozy drawer??
Except my cozy pants drawer isn’t as neat!
I have one pair I wear on repeat!
