As a physician, this makes me so sad/concerned!! Human beings have literally more bacteria and viral cells in us than we do “human” cells. We are microbes! Please don’t be afraid to touch other humans, surfaces, dirt, etc. Research shows that the more diverse your microbiome the healthier you are. Creating a world of germaphobia will result in more allergies, asthma, and autoimmune disease. The Dirt Cure by Dr. Maya is a good read for anyone interested in this: https://drmaya.com/dirtcure/

I watched Say Anything last week and was viscerally reminded of how graduation and summer won’t be the same for a really long time.

On the other hand, a movie like Knives Out fits perfectly into this period, because so much of it takes place with the family isolated in their house together as the murder is solved.

When this first started back in late February I was watching Beauty and the Beast with my daughter (1. Cartoon 2. Made in the early 90s). It got to the scene where Belle comes out in her beautiful yellow dress to have dinner with the Beast.

As she’s walked down the stairs she held on to the railing and I physically recoiled! I’m not a germphobe, I’ve never really cared about hand washing particularly but suddenly I saw germs everywhere. Such a strange time we’re living through.

This made me laugh too! Our summer camp just decided they can’t open with MIS-C now developing. Too risky for the kids.
I was watching Peppa Pig – it’s Papa Peppa Pizza Party Night and watching all those parties with kids and parents, laughed and thought, ….I wonder if you could have a party if every single person promised they’d just been in isolation for a month! HA!!!! (Then thought “hmm too much in the honor system”/mad woman, so for the present I’ll keep my invitations to myself and Cup of Jo😃.)

  5. Haha but really…can we also talk about how weird it is now when you’re wearing face masks in public and ppl just stare into your soul. I find myself smiling under my mask like “hi…” and then I laugh to myself, “they can’t see me”. Next I think to myself, “Face masks are a great cover up for “resting bitch face” though…” Lol.

My husband and I recently watched the movie Hustlers. There is a scene where JLo is rolling around in a pile of money, rubbing dollar bills all over her face. There of course is so much subtext to all of it. But all I could think of at the time was “OH MY GOD SHE IS RUBBING SO MUCH COVID ALL OVER HERSELF!!!” Sigh.

My mom and I were just talking about this!! she gets so nervous and confused “why are they not social distancing?!” I think we are all going to be so much more affected by this situation than we think.

I get heart palpitations being out and seeing people wearing a mask badly, like not over their mouth and nose., or as a chin strap. For the love!

My favorite incorrect mask-use sighting was a woman walking down the street with her mask covering her forehead like a little shield for a unicorn horn!

    That’s how I feel too!
I saw my husband talking to the neighbor. They were both wearing masks but standing only about 3 feet from each other. Too close! My palpitations started. :o
