So true!
Im lucky (?) that we dont have proper heating at home so we still wear outside clothes in!
When I worked on Wall St. there was a missing ceiling tile and defective air blower over my desk. I wore a down vest over my business suit. It took forever to get that thing fixed. F*^#ing freezing…
Yes! I can definitely relate to that. The best thing I have found during the winter season is to wear layers. Or honestly I wear normal clothes with a coat. I may be cold for a short while, but usually that would just be while I walk into places lol. Thanks for sharing!!

I would love (and frankly, expected) to see a post with links for donations and action after the Christchurch mosque shootings in New Zealand.
Yes, in the link list. Thank you so much, El.

That’s me! Especially inside a store.
Since Nina can apparently read me like a book, I’ve just ordered her book, “My Name is Girl”.
Also, I’m searching for a cartoon, seen a few years ago, maybe even here. It’s a wall covered in a scientific equation for choosing the day’s outfit. Factors include the season vs. actual weather, cuteness vs. practicality, and fifty other points to consider when getting dressed in the morning.
I would really love to track down this cartoon, if only to help my husband appreciate the carefully curated shoe collection in my closet.
Please help!
i just searched around the site but couldn’t find anything — i’ll keep thinking!
This is me haha!
So true, and the reverse applies to summer. I never go anywhere without a big sweater and scarf for over air-conditioned offices and restaurants.
Oh my gosh, so much. I feel like I could survive winter much better if it weren’t for all the layers.
Also, fyi for those of you who aren’t there yet, this happens zillions of times a day during menopause…….not fun, trust me.
Also describes Autumn, and spring!
I always dry clean my down coats at the end of the season, given how much I’ve sweated in them for months.
Me three! We need a “what to wear to work when your office is perpetually frigid and you don’t want to wear a coat inside” post!
I have a black knit wrap that I keep for this purpose (in addition to my space heater). It goes with most things and looks professional enough for the setting.
I just bought this wrap for that very reason!

I’ve been shopping at World Market for ages, and they’ve really increased their clothing offerings. At first, I was a little skeptical, but they have some really nice things – including quite a few other cute and cozy wraps/shawls!!
Love the wrap idea–thanks, Andrea and Amanda! We have a World Market coming to my town soon. Yay!
This is also spring summarized. You leave the house in the morning all bundled up in layers because it’s freezing, only to die from heat exhaustion as the day goes on.
Same, MaryB! I find the opposite true in the summer though…
Clearly Nina doesn’t work where I work! Year-round it’s freezing in this office!
The guy I'm dating just took me on an upstate weekend getaway. Here's what I packed...
"Fifteen minutes later, we were sitting down to a warming tangle of linguini."
Including Operating Instructions, Heavy, and The Runaway Bunny.
