This post reminded me to double check the adidas gazelles on sale since they were out of stock last week. but nordstrom replenished their stock and I was able to snag a pair! thanks for the reminder cup of jo! haha

The dog! the sneaks! all so cute.

As a side note, I recently started using black castor oil for a bald patch on my eyebrow caused by a product. Since a little goes a long way I smooth some over my hair too and POOF big fluffy hair but not fly-away smooth and silky…try that out for volume. I got shea moisture (love their founder’s story) but there are tons of different brands you can try. Just make sure it’s 100% not diluted.

I love your blog but sometimes I wish it would reflect more middle-class shopping sensibilities. I love Nordstrom but hardly have the budget to shop there often. Just a bit of feedback from a thrifty mama!

Too funny that everyone saw that dog but I only saw those pink sneakers! I had to go back and look to see if there was a dog in the picture. Ha! Some people are just shoe people I guess.

I wish autumn was coming faster. It’s this time of year I get jealous of people who live in New England, because fall starts the end of September (if not earlier). It will be 99+ degrees until at least November.

Colleen, I do totally agree with you, darling. I live in Southern Europe and currently we are having a heat wave and over 104°F. Anyway I won’t be wearing fall clothes until mid October I guess. But at least it’s only one month until September.

Sigh. My very favorite site, and yet even here I’m still seeing so many of these Nordstrom’s posts. Love Nordie’s but they papered the blog-verse this year, with pre-, initial, and now “still sale!” posts, and it’s turning me off them and the blogs. Please please, totally get that you need sponsored posts and I check them out more often than not, but no more of this one. Sent with love.

I feel the same way! I typically think Cup of Jo does a great job with sponsored posts but the Nordstrom ones usually feel “off” (normally just a list of things to buy). This year especially, it seems like every blogger and social media influenced I follow is promoting the Nordstrom sale. It feels like such wasteful consumption for some reason. :/

i on the other hand love the nordstrom anniversary blog posts. I grew up shopping at nordstrom but then in my 20’s started to get overwhelmed with the different departments and where to look and what brands so I skipped them. When bloggers post their picks it inspires me to take a look at stuff I wouldn’t normally consider and i appreciate that.

Yes, it might not be the most exciting blog content in the world but if you need to do some shopping and want some inspiration and sale prices it is helpful.

This year the Nordstrom sale has followed me to literally every blog I like. On the bright side, I think it’s cured me of ever wanting to shop there again which is great for my bank account.

Didn’t mean to pile on, I love this blog, but I would love to hear about any other store but Nordstrom right now.

thank you os much for this feedback! it’s great to hear. funnily enough, i haven’t seen nordstrom posts on any other blogs i read, but we’re going to keep an eye in the future to what other sites our partners are working with, so you guys don’t feel overloaded. nordstrom has been a very dedicated and long-term supporter of cup of jo for years, and we’re so grateful to work with them. i love their products, and their customer service is phenomenal. thank you again for the feedback!

I actually like the blog posts – I feel like Nordstrom’s sale can be overwhelming and I like having somebody else go through & preselect stuff for me.

Also, I think Nordstrom is pretty OK as sponsors go, known for a decent corporate citizens, definitely prefer that to some of the others (*cough amazon*).

While I think its worth considering the % of the blog posts are consumption related – skin products, nordstrom sale etc – I would also say if you’re not into it just keep scrolling to the good stuff :)

I really don’t mind the Nordstrom’s posts. I actually kind of like them. They have nice things, and I’m kind of ready for that after having to shop the discount retailers for most of my early career. (slinks guiltily off the comments thread)
