1. Essence Brown says...

As a current flight attendant, I can tell you American Airlines replaces their magazines the first of every month. So very few people have probably touched the magazine.

  2. Ramona says...

NEVER put your seat back. It’s so rude and selfish! Why would you choose to crush the knees of the person behind you? If i ruled the skies, seats would have only one position, full upright.

  3. The answer to the last one is…. YES! I’m tall and have long legs, and when the person in front of me leans back, it becomes so uncomfortable, and makes it near impossible for me to squeeze out of my seat even to pee. I hate it!!!!

  4. jeannie says...

    Perfect!

  5. Amelia says...

I have wondered all of those things! I flew halfway around the world today for work so I have even been wondering them all quite recently. Another I would add is, “Is it possible to stick my foot even a tiny bit into the aisle and not have it be in the way of the cart?” I fear the answer is no, but I keep trying to find a way to stretch my legs just a bit. I also wonder, “Do the flight attendants find me annoying?” and “When is the least annoying time to ask my neighbor to move so I can go to the bathroom?”

  6. Kathy T says...

I hope that we fly over my neighborhood so that I can see my tiny house.

  7. Keri says...

I have been on far too many 20-30 hour plane trips to worry about whether or not to put my seat back….. Put the damn seat back already. Its the one tiny comfort afforded to you in that flying tin can full of germs. Take it. (just be courteous, don’t tip it back too quick, and maybe not all the way… at least not at first ;) )

    • Joyce says...

That’s funny! As a six foot, two inch tall person, when I’m flying domestic, I NEVER put my seat back. (Unless no one is sitting bedhind me.) I feel very strongly about this! I feel like the plane would be a better place if no one did it. It’s kind of like listening to music without headphones – good for you, bad for the person near you.

I know you mention 30 hour flights and I do think International travel is the only exception. Even then, I’d prefer that no one did it but feel I must do it to survive since the person in front of me always does. Just some thoughts from a tall girl to consider :)

  8. Callie says...

I have looked at this illustration four times times today, I love it that much. I bet the person in that house is wondering who is up in that plane (and where are they going?).

  9. I always becomes religious when I am flying. I always say to God please dont make the place crash and I will go back to church! I am always so scared of flying.

  10. Heather says...

“I wonder if anyone can see me crying while watching this movie?”

    Sincerely,
Always crying on during airplane movies, even during The Hangover

    • Joanna Goddard says...

hahahahaha ME TOO! why is that???

    • You’re not alone! Have you read this article : Why We Cry on Planes (from The Atlantic)?

  11. Emily says...

The answer to the last one is…. YES! I’m tall and have long legs, and when the person in front of me leans back, it becomes so uncomfortable, and makes it near impossible for me to squeeze out of my seat even to pee. I hate it!!!!

    • Jessica says...

Yes! I’m short and I have short legs and it STILL annoys me!

  12. Inbal says...

From a former flight attendant and now days just a passenger; Amen and a YES to all of the above.

    • Inbal says...

      And hydration is key ;)

  13. I wonder where that smell is coming from. I wonder if it will go away.

  14. Amber says...

one hundred thousand million billion percent yes!

  15. Katie says...

    Love #5

  16. L says...

Just wanted to let you all know that I saw on Mari’s Instagram today that she is giving a free print to anyone who pre-orders her new book that is coming out in March. I’ve seen so many of her pieces here that I would love to have as a print, and I’ve had her book on my Amazon wishlist for a while, so I’m definitely doing it. I figure there must be some other people here who also think “I want to hang this on my wall” every Friday, so now’s your chance.

  17. edie says...

    I would add:

-I wonder if the flight attendant will offer a second round of snack mix

-If we were crash on the Island from LOST, would it be as exciting as that show or just terrifying?

-Why does my back feel like the back of 95 year-old?

    • Joanna Goddard says...

      hahahahaha

  18. AJ says...

    Yep, yep, yep ?

  19. Jordan says...

To #7 the answer is yes. Just don’t do it.

    • Eliza says...

It never bothers me when the person in front of me puts my seat back!

    • Amber says...

It aaaalways bothers me! Haha! I can’t stand it! :P

  20. Sharon says...

These are SO spot on… I almost wonder why #7 is even possible… It feels so lovely to lean back, but the guilt of knowing you are crowding out someone else’s knees takes away all the pleasure…

    • Cynthia says...

I paid for it so I’m using it!

It’s like the chain reaction at a concert when one person near the front decides to stand and then everyone has to stand.

  21. Erica says...

Love it! Mari Andrew is always so on point

  22. Lorange says...

#5!! Also where do you work, when you live so far out in the boonies? How long is your drive every day? (And I still wonder this despite growing up in the boonies, somehow.)

  23. I wonder the last one all the time…

  24. lynda says...

Oh I have experienced every thought on this list!!! Thanks for making feel normal :) and for the chuckle!
    Happy weekend everyone!

  25. Ana says...

#7 – YES!!!! just don’t do it on short or medium haul, please! :)))

  26. #7 is too real! I have had many flights ruined by someone cranking their seat aaaallllll the way back. Once (when airplane movie screen technology wasn’t what it is today) I had to watch “RAY” at a 45-degree angle. All the colors were inverted so Jamie Foxx’s skin was navy-teal. That said… is it so bad if I put my seat back just a little bit??

  27. Joy says...

Haha. I wonder where my teeny bottle of hand-sanitizer is….

  28. Sara says...

So much anxiety over #7. :)

  29. EXACTLY! Completely correct! Thanks for putting a smile on my face today!

  30. Sarah says...

yes to the mini chardonnay. every time.
