Pretty Winter Looks From Paris

Morgane Sézalory

What’s in your outfit rotation this winter? We adore the French clothing brand Sézane, so we asked its founder, Morgane Sézalory, to share her go-to pieces this season. “I love the sense of quiet that descends upon the city,” she says about winter in Paris. “People are tucked away in their warm homes and cozy restaurants, and it’s my favorite time to walk in the Tuileries Garden with my girls.” Here’s what she’s wearing right now…

Morgane Sézalory

Coat. Similar sweater. Pants. Bag. Heels.

“This leather bag goes from day to night, and inside I always carry crayons and a coloring book for my daughters. I can bring them anywhere as long as they have their art supplies.”

Pleated dress. Tights. Heels.

“This dress is meant to be airy and effortless but also makes you feel put-together and feminine with the tiny pleats and loose tie, which you can put in the back or the front. I’ll wear this to a holiday dinner with ankle boots or heels.”

Here are Morgane’s nine top picks from her winter collection…

(By the way, Sézane ships everywhere and has a lovely new store in New York.)

Thank you so much, Morgane!

P.S. Morgane’s dreamy apartment, and where to eat, hang and stay in Paris.

    That dress!!!!!!

  2. 61/5000
You are a beautiful woman and a great inspiration for each of us. :)

  3. Megan W says...

Thanks so much for always having such great collaborations/sponsors! I love Sezane and have been wanting to try their clothes for a long time – the free scarf was a perfect incentive (and you can’t be free shipping and free returns!). :)

  4. Jayme says...

Will the black leather ziggy jacket EVER come back in 34/36..?

  5. Jo says...

I wish the website was easier to use, so many categories and so many things labeled “sold out” … feels like rummaging around a consignment shop.

    • Jayme says...

I agree. Hoping the owner sees this! They split everything into seasonal and year round stock, I believe, rather than by item type. It’s impossible to find the same thing twice on the site. ?

    • Hi Jo, thank you for your feedback. We’re working to improve your experience on our site and will share this with our web team. Please email us at bonjour@sezane.com with any further questions; we’ll do our best to help you find the styles you love.

  6. Nikki says...

Beautiful women and beautiful style. Just to echo the comments here, love so many Sezane items, just so sad to see them go out of stock and never return. I discovered Sezane only recently and had my heart set on blush embroidered Babies High Lucie as my wedding shoes, but they are gone…

  7. Jen says...

Lovely outfits. I enjoyed seeing her favorite pieces and how she styles them.
Some thoughts: I would like to see more views of the garment on the website. The models look great, but seeing the garment flat helps me know if it is a good cut for me. Also, I would like to know the fiber content. Buying clothing online is tough! The more info the better.

  8. Julia E says...

Morgane is gorgeous. I’d love to see a beauty routine post with her…

  9. Gosh, she is so beautiful! I’ve been wanting to make an order from Sézane for quite a few months, but I’m not sure about my size and would rather try some of their sweaters on in person. I’m not far from their New York store, I just need to make a trip!! Also their shoes look incredible!

  10. Loving those Ashley Babies – substantial yet feminine. Perfection.

  11. Ellie says...

So I just looked at the Ariel dress on their site (love!!) and noticed that it’s reversed! Is it meant to be worn either way?

  12. I loooove their store! I can’t stop by because I want to buy everything hahaha. Xx – Fernanda

  13. NN says...

    ugh, soooo sexy!

  14. Cynthia says...

They need to carry sizes larger than 12 and a better sizing chart for U.S. sizes.

    • Diane says...

I absolutely agree. Beautiful clothes but its a shame that you choose to ignore the more than 50% of the US female population who wear bigger than a size 12.

  15. Denise says...

They do make beautiful clothes but only for slender ladies. Too bad they’re missing the market for a wide range of sizes for women. I love that red pleat dress & it would work for me because it is only fitted at the shoulder, but I no longer spend my money in stores that exclude my size.

    • Lane says...

      PREACH!

    • dana says...

      agreed!!!

    • Hi Denise, thank you for writing. I’m sorry that this is not something we offer right now, but I will definitely mention it to our prêt à porter team for future collections. In the meantime, I hope you will find something to love in our Winter collection :)

  16. Cait says...

Does anyone know how their clothes run? I looked at the size chart but I’m still not sure what size to order!

    • Carly says...

I’ve only ever tried the denim which runs extremely small. The only cut that worked for me was the Mom jean – in which I’m a size 28. The other straighter leg jeans were far too tight in the hips/butt. For reference, I’m usually a size 27 in skinny jeans and a size 26 in looser boyfriend jeans.

    • Laetitia says...

it runs small. I’m a US 6 in almost every store, usually a size S (sometimes M for bottoms), but found that their 6 is more like a 4, so I would order at least one size up.

    • Michele says...

The jeans run small and tight imo and the shirts seem fairly tts. If you look on the size description tab, they note if something runs small.

    • Jessica DeStefano says...

Make that two sizes up! I stopped by their NYC store – it was an exercise in humility! I am generally a size 4-6; NOTHING fit in those sizes and it was too much of a chore to ask the salesperson to bring everything larger. I was disappointed – the clothes look lovely.

    • Hi Cait, thank you for writing. If you ever have a question about the sizing on a specific piece, feel free to email us at bonjour@sezane.com for advice!

  17. Jordan says...

Sezane is a beautiful store with great pieces, but I feel like you post about it every other month. I would love to see you feature a different store in a similar fashion

  18. Kelly says...

Aw, I wanted to love Sezanne but ladies be warned, they don’t honor their return policy! I’m waiting on 300 plus of clothes that they just..haven’t refunded and haven’t been responsive via e-mail. I’m a teacher, so it’s a chunk of change for me! Yikes! :(

    • Claire says...

Yikes. this makes me realize that I returned the jeans that I bought from them and have yet to be notified the return has been received or the refund processed. Not good. Need to follow up with them.
Hope they respond to your inquires soon too.

    • Cynthia says...

Makes me hesitant to order, as I am a teacher as well, and the thought of having difficulty returning something bothers me.

    • Carly says...

I also had issues with returns – although they did eventually refund my money. It took several weeks and involved a lot of back and forth via email.

    • Katie says...

Same here! Their customer service needs work, especially when we’re dealing with purchases at $300+.

    • Thank you for this info! School nurse here. I need to be able to return things if they don’t work out. BTW recently had very good experiences with returns at Everlane and & Other Stories.

    • Michele says...

I returned some items and did get refunded without issue, but it took forever!

    • Hi Kelly, thank you for writing and I apologize about the delay on your return. We are handling a large volume of returns right now, and in the case it is taking longer than usual, please feel free to email our US team at bonjour@sezane.com and we can certainly assist with this!

  19. Alexia says...

Is Sezane going to bring back those pants?? They’re sold out and I love them

  20. Erin says...

These (and madewell and everlane) are the exact clothes I dream of having in plus sizes. Sigh.

  21. Claire says...

Very beautiful things, but I found their website difficult to shop from. I wish they included a size chart that was more similar to American sizing. I ordered a pair of jeans using the size chart on the website as a reference, but the jeans ended up being way, way too small. Info about the garment fabric would be helpful as well.

  22. Cait says...

I ADORE the black mary janes here, but wish that Sezane carried an 11.5 or a 12 for my giant feet. Maybe something to consider? We hard to fit ladies are willing to spend a pretty penny to get something we love in our size, Morgane! :)

  23. Lara says...

Beautiful clothes! What is Sezane’s position on sustainability and the environment?

  24. I love everything in Sézane, including the founder! Girl crush! <3

  25. Blanca Bonilla says...

I discovered Sezane through this website and it´s been the discovery of the year for sure, so THANKS JOANNA!!
I´ve already got a couple pieces, they are very well featured and the materials are great quality so MERCI SEZANE!!
    Besos desde España

    • Louise says...

I echo this! I found out about Sezane from this site, and I’ve ordered twice from them. There were quite a few that I really liked that I didn’t get to order and has never come back (like the Soly shirt). :( But other than that, I love all the clothes and I plan to have an all-Sezane wardrobe soon!

  26. Catherine says...

The pants are AMAZING, but sold out!!
I love the Tiger bag in red, I love red purses!
Sézane is one of my favorite brands, I can’t wait to get something from there under the tree (I’ve been dropping hints!)

  27. Jojo says...

Everything looks lovely but I need to register in order to see ANY prices at all? That’s insane. Do I assume everything will be crazy expensive an not even bother?

    • Jayme says...

You don’t need to register to see prices…

  28. Everything is always sold out at Sezane! I’ve wanted the Valentina pumps for years and they NEVER have any sizes available. Ugh!

  29. Leni says...

Am I the only one who has never heard of shoes being called “babies”? Did I miss something?

    • Rosalie says...

It’s the French word for Mary Janes. :)

    • Frenchfrog says...

If France Mary-Jane type shoes are called “babies”, probably because they were initially a style worn by children :)

    • I think in France it comes from ‘babydoll’, like a babydoll dress and babydoll shoes. That sexy/sweet Sixties style that Brigitte Bardot and Françoise Hardy have. In the US and UK they’re often called Mary Janes… now that I think of it… where does that come from?

  30. MC says...

Ohhhhh that pleated dress is so beautiful, and I love that you can wear it two ways!

  31. Nicole says...

Oh, wow! Everything on their website is gorgeous. I am visiting NY soon, and this really makes me want to visit the store.

  32. Erin says...

Thank you for sharing, I’m getting to that point in life where I want a smaller wardrobe with better quality pieces and this brand has some great options. Everything looks well made and timeless.

  33. Escondista says...

The Jane shirt is so lovely!
Adore this store and I’m so glad it’s stateside now.

  34. Yvonne says...

I always see cute things from Sezane and have been to their site multiple times to get something, but EVERY single time, everything is always out of stock. I don’t really get it.

    • Jennifer in KS says...

      Truth.

    • Stasha says...

      Me too! Drives me crazy.

    • Claire says...

SO much stuff on there is out of stock and never comes back in stock. It makes it really difficult to purchase anything.

    • Hi Yvonne, thank you for writing. We try our best to preview the success of our styles and re-release them, but we will continue to work even harder to ensure our customers can have access to the styles they love! I highly suggest you also sign up to “create an alert” so you can be notified when there is a re-release on a piece you want ;)

  35. Melanie says...

I wish I had a place to wear those High Tristan Babies. So sexy!

  36. Chelsea says...

Love Sezane so so much. I’ve been eyeing a bag of theirs for months, might have to make the jump ;)
Also they have free express shipping to the US for the month of December!

  37. AJ says...

Ooh that Cooper Jumper is gorgeous…

  38. Mimi says...

Love seeing Sézane featured again – would’ve have been even nicer if more of the articles featured were available! :-(

  39. Sarah says...

morgane, you are so beautiful! i love the velvet pants and red dress.
