1. Love the message. Put simply and clear for one’s understanding

  2. Marisol says...

I like this one the best! So simple but it speaks so loud!
    Thank you!

This is fantastic. I’m doing The Overnight Walk in Washington, DC tonight for the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention. I’m walking for myself, one who has lived with mental illness for the majority of my life, and my sister, who attempted suicide and has also been resilient despite her anxiety-riddled brain. This image is poignant, beautiful, and pretty much how I feel about this long walk: If I can do that, I’ll be able to do this. I’m so happy to have seen it this morning!

  4. Lorna says...

Love this! Such a good reminder!

  5. Annabella says...

    Thank you.

Just what I needed right now

  6. We are two kids who have a new blog called The Flip Side, we look up to you as creators and would like it if you gave us a shout-out or checked out our page, thank you.

  7. Kim says...

Just wanted to say how much I love seeing these every Friday! Mari Andrew is just so great.

YAS love this one! always a good reminder to yourself, and as an example to others

  9. Amy says...

I like so many of Mari’s illustrations, but I LOVE this one! Thirding (fourthing?) the prints.

  10. Love it! I used to think when you went through difficult challenges it was because you were unlucky. Now I realize you go through difficult challenges because life always has problems and everyone must deal with them. It’s how you learn to deal with them over time that make you better at facing things. Such a beautifully illustrated piece – thanks for reminding me of what I can swim across.

  11. Nancy says...

Instantly dragged this to desktop. I often feel as though I am able to swim across each body of water because of forces outside of myself — had I drawn this (honestly), it would be more like, “so-and-so pushed me halfway across this,” “I floated for a little while mid-swim on this one,” and “thank goodness I ate so many pre-swim carbs, I wouldn’t have made it without that.” Rather than giving myself credit or building on my ability to sail rough seas, I will see a new storm and go, nope couldn’t possibly. I’m not strong enough. But I guess no matter how you make it across, the point is that you’ve made it across. Right?
    No man is an island?
    Have I lost you?

  12. Elisabeth says...

    this is perfect.

  13. Kate says...

    thank you :)

Sending big hugs to everyone going through big challenges right now. Even as I’m facing my own big challenges, it’s a comfort to know there are others out there also facing their own big challenges. Off to check out Option B – my to read book pile is teetering!

  16. Steph says...

Sheryl Sandberg’s Option B is a great book on resilience! Can’t put it down — plus the science side of me loves that she cites actual scientific research throughout the book (including colleagues of mine!)

  17. Molly says...

I’d also love to purchase this one. Going through a big challenge right now and this is a good reminder to keep afloat.

  18. Sophia F. says...

Third on the prints – I laugh out loud at many of your illustrations, but this one particularly speaks to me :)

  19. lindsay e says...

I’m in the middle of something hard right now. Seeing this made my morning. And made my eyes sweaty.
    Thank you! <3

    • brianna says...

I know what you mean about making your eyes sweaty – my eyes have been sweaty for weeks now.

    • Katherine says...

Really hope you guys hang on in there! There will come a time when your eyes are sweaty for good reasons again, even if it doesn’t feel like it right now.

    • Nectar says...

      Me too!

      It brightened my cloudy day.

  20. Katherine says...

I agree re selling prints! Definitely one I’d get.

  21. brianna says...

    Timely.

Mari, do you sell prints of your work? If so, I’d like to purchase this one.
